As others have said, this is a nice, basic site; no frills and nice and quiet.
We visited in August (13th - 17th) and stayed four nights. We were en route to the Dordogne having landed in Calais. Calais was about five hours away.
I booked ahead by emailing. We had been before (2 years ago) so we knew where on the site we wanted to be and we were allocated a pitch just where we wanted. Most pitches are on grass and are of a decent size; they are separated by mature hedges and trees. There is plenty of shade available.
The loos don't have loo paper or soap, but were very clean whilst we were there. The showers are free and hot water plentiful. The pot washing facilities were also excellent.
There is a play room with a pool table and table football. Also there are table tennis tables and a small playground as well as a boule pitch (is that what they are called?) and a volleyball pitch.
Our family is two adults and four children (13, 11, 9 and 5) and no one was 'bored'.
WiFi is free around the play room.
This is the second time we have been here in three years and would definitely return.

Absolutely gorgeous site, everything you could possibly need. Clean and modern facilities, plenty for the children lovely play area and lots of open space. Walking distance to the village, although we didn't venture up it seemed a a typical French village with basic shops and a pharmacy. Setting was idyllic at the side of the river and surrounded by greenery. The Only downside was a rather loud donkey on the other side of the river who insisted on making its presence known most of the day and night! Ideal stopover about 4 hours from calais just north of le mans. Highly recommend.

Everything we wanted - good size pitch, easy hook up, good access and good sanitation. An easy run from Ouistreham, we will return for a longer visit next time. Bread can be ordered and is delivered at 08:30 next morning. Shopping nearby including a fuel stop. Not much else to say, very good value and agree with all previous reviews!

Used this site for a night stopover on our way back up to the ferry from the Dordogne. - Nice site, large flat pitches with electric. Excellent facilities including activity room, shop and outdoor play area. Order your croissants/bread for delivery next day.
Very helpful caretaker/staff, we stayed until the afternoon as our ferry wasn't until the evening and they didn't charge us for the extra time. Good value for money(16 euros for the night including 3 people and electric.
Note: struggled to find somewhere to eat in the actual town, so you may need to travel a bit if you want to eat out, but as a stop over, it offered excellent value and facilities.

A site much beloved of UKCS members, and I can see why. It's a comfortable day's drive from the short crossing ports, and makes a very pleasant stay on the way south. The location is glorious, on the banks of the Sarthe just on the edge of the town. The site is well kept, clean and tidy, and modestly priced.

A gem of a site north of Le Mans. Excellent facilities. 2 supermarkets in the town. There were also a couple of hotels/restaurants. The site is on The Sarthe. Remarkably reasonable at 12@ a night.
The loo block was spotless and warm. The town is walking distance from the campsite. We booked this campiste after reading some of the reviews here and were not disappointed.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the Ile de Re encouraged by positive reports and were not disappointed. Lovely setting next to the river. Pitches very good size, wash block very clean and tidy, pleasant staff. The local town suffering economically with several empty units but a couple of lovely bread/cake shops about 10 minutes walk away. Decent supermarket approx 10 mins drive from campsite. Near enough to main roads to attract plenty of passing trade from overnight visitors. Would recommend booking as the site filled very quickly during high season.

We have been visiting this site for 6 years and have always found it quiet, clean and ideal as a stopover to and from the ferry as its only 2 - 2 and half hours from Le Havre. However, this year it appears that the office to book in is now closed until 3pm high season and 4pm low season for lunch. This can be quite a problem for touring vans and larger motor homes as its a tricky final approach to a barriered entrance on a 30° down slope;if you have to try and reverse because you are blocking the exit from the site it's hard. Several units had had the same problem as us. Let's hope the officials in Beaumont can sort this as I think many overnighters will just drive on to another site as they find it tricky to try and wait here for the bureau to open! It's a brilliant site otherwise.

Super site, the cheapest, cleanest and quietist site we stayed on during our little tour of France. We had a huge pitch, located next to the river, the sanitary facilities were immaculate and the small village of Beaumont sur Sarthe was idyllic. We would have stayed longer but it was our last stop over before home, took 3 and a half hours to get to calais. Will definitely stop again on our way south.

This was our first visit to a municipal site and were a little apprehensive having read mixed comments on forums.
We were very plenty surprised. The site is well laid out with reasonable sized pitches although we may have been a little tight if we needed to erect our awning, luckily we did not need ours as we were only stopping for a single night on our way to Vendee.
We were greeted at reception by a very pleasant and bubbly lady, who although did not speak much English managed perfectly to explain our bill and let us know where we were to pitch. We made our booking via email with a little help from an online translation program and received a reply within a day confirming our booking.
The amenities were modern and clean. The site also had a large play area with space to kick a ball around, some things to play on and also a table tennis table and Pétanque terrain.
There is a local Super you with a fuel station, perfect stock up on supplies and cheap diesel for the onward journey.
We will certainly use this site again if in the area.
