Just returned from this lovely campsite. We hadn't been camping for a few years, but this place re-ignited our enthusiasm for it.
The pitches are generous and the field is lovely and flat. The best bit is the fact you can have camp fires which came in useful for toasting those marshmallows for s'mores!
There is a cute hut which facilitates the two toilets, two sink rooms, two showers, one disabled room with toilet, sink and shower, and there's also a washing up point and water tap.
The toilets are clean and toilet roll is replaced daily, although can run out, so don't forget to take your own! The showers are powerful and there's plenty of hot water which is fantastic (and free!) I suppose it would be handy to have another block like this on site to double the facilities, but to be fair I didn't really see any queues.
There isn't a chemical toilet waste facility for those of you who take them.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and expect quietness around 10. 30ish and I have to say, it was very quiet, lovely and peaceful, although we did hear some teens being noisy around 1am but they weren't there on the second night. There's a freezer store but we didn't use this.
It was lovely to sit and watch the children playing in the middle if the field together, and whilst there isn't a play area, we saw children with their bikes, bats and balls and even saw 3 lads sat in chairs trying to get tennis balls in a bucket -simple idea!
The only thing this site could do with is a little shop for the basics, but we ave booked to come back again, so this hasn't put us off!

Just come back from palace farm and once again had a lovely time. Little bit windy and rain, but didn't damped our spirits. We just love this site. It peaceful and so relaxing to chill out round the fire pits you can hire. Facilities are basic, two toilets, two showers, plus family/disabled shower and toilet, washing up area. Plenty of hot water. Plenty of walks to do if you want to, there are maps that you can use and I found a fishing lake only 13 minutes away in tonge which is between teyham and sittingbourne and is cheap, the name of the place is bax farm. The people who run the farm and campsite make you feel so really welcome. Cant wait to go back in September. This is a gem of a site

Stayed at this campsite for my first camping trip in the UK. Tents only, very peaceful place, owners were lovely and very accommodating. Toilet block and shower block were clean and free which was a bonus. Information on walks were freely available at the toilet block. Lovely big field with good space for each pitch, children can entertain themselves easily and be supervised by parents. Fantastic beautiful area, with great rustic country pubs all round. If you want to just get away from it all and experience proper camping that is very good value, this place is for you. You can hire fire pits on a nightly basis with real wood, and they are great for sitting around at night with a nice glass of wine. Would highly recommend this place!

A basic site but fantastic all the same! Not a great deal for children to do but two young children loved it and amused theirselves easily!
The owners are very kind and welcoming and will go out of their way to help with any needs and requirements!
Excellent walks and lovely surroundings. Fantastic local pub who are also very welcoming and children and dogs welcome too.
Will certainly be staying at this site again in 2013

As we had recently purchased a Glendale 5 we wanted to have a weekend camping- as we had only did our first camp at Carfest South & loved it, we brought a bigger tent and of course had to use it.
We chose this site as it allowed dogs, had fire pits & is local to us.
Good sized pitches and I liked the showers, loos etc as individual access doors per shower etc and not blocks. The family room had sink, loo & shower not heated but plenty of hot water. No EHU but there is a socket by the washing up area- will take my hairdryer next time!
There are plenty of footpaths nearby for dog walking and there is a walk map leaflet which can be borrowed and this has an 8 mile walk marked out- nice touch.
We only walked to the butcher in the village which is really good and has a good selection of items and then to the pub nice for a drink.
On site there was Plenty of noises at night from the owls foxes etc but if you do not want to woken up at 5 am by the cockerel crowing pitch at the top end and not near the main house.
They do accept roof tents on land rovers as our friends with us had one of these and dogs do need to be prior booked. Otherwise a Nice site and we will go back

The butchers down the road is quaint and old fashioned and sells lovely products. All I can say is I give this site 10 out of 10 and is top of our list

This is a quiet little site with 25 pitches for tents only. There is no hook up so it's back to basics camping but we dusted down the ice packs and took a wind up lantern (don't bother - we'll have to invest in something better!). We thoroughly enjoyed the space. Tents are around the outside of a big field with a huge area in the middle for games. This is a rare treasure as many sites pack you in and space for rounders is one of the things we love most about camping! Fire pits are available with logs for sale. Disposable bbqs are not allowed. The toilets and showers were basic but this wouldn't prevent us from returning for a weekend visit. There are lovely walks and cycles from the site and the owners provide maps which you can borrow. A great location for a weekend escape from London.

Basic but Brilliant!
We visited Palace Farm for a weekend for only our second ever family camping trip. Our first (to Dymchurch) was a bit of a disaster so to say we were a little apprehensive is an understatement! However I don't think we could have possible picked a better site.
The tent pitches are a great size, the site was busy but could never feel crowded. Tents are sited around the edges of the field with a great open space left in the middle for kids to play. Our 8yr old made friends immediately and spent the majority of the time playing football, flying kites and generally making the most of the open space. He loved it.
We rented a fire pit and were very content to spend the evenings around the fire, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the peace.
The facilities are basic but clean and usable. The site owners were friendly and helpful. All in all we had a wonderful weekend there and will definitely return. This site kind of helped to redeem our faith in Camping after our first disaster elsewhere, so thanks!

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and had a lovely stay, there was a few queues in the morning for the showers and toilets. The ground is good and well drained I was glad to have my rock pegs (made life easier).
There was plenty of space so even thou there was no playground the kids could run around and play their games.
The pub down the road was great and very friendly allowing the kids and dogs in, which was good on a very wet first night, it has good food and real ale.
There are lots of places to go and things to see around and this made a perfect base to explore, they had even prepared laminated maps with walks on to borrow. We went over to Dover castle - well worth a visit, and a lovely trip to Whitstable, with fresh fish and seafood also there is Harbour village are little wooden craft shops.
We will go back there next time we visit the area.

What a lovely site. We enjoyed our visit so much at the beginning of August that we went back for the bank holiday weekend!
The field is large and level, whilst there is no playground our children spent the entire weekend playing with other children in the centre of the field and had a wonderful time.
The showers and loos are fine, the morning 'rush' can be a bit interesting, but the facilities are clean and there is plenty of hot water.
Liz and Graham make you very welcome and have provided excellent laminated walks of the area, so far we have done 3.
It is a beautiful area, 3 lovely local pubs, a short drive to trains into London, and a short drive from Sittingbourne, Whitstable (our favourite) etc.
We will definitely be going back and is now one of our favourites!
