We spent the first weekend in July here, it's great! There's a local butchers 'round the corner with a decent pub. Teynam is about 3 miles away with a co-op that's open 'til 10, and a few other pubs and take always. The site itself is pleasant with camp fires allowed! I advise booking a 'fire-pit' as the owners only rent out 10, and we were enviously watching other peoples' fires on the first night :-(
Reasonably priced at £8 per person per night.
All in all really good.
Bikes available for hire too.

I took my 2 kids (Sam 8 & Meg 7) to Palace Farm for half term. I made a conscious effort to pick a site that did not have any laid on entertainment (swimming pool / amusement arcades, park etc) as I wanted the kids to make their own entertainment. Liz & Graham were extremely friendly and the perfect hosts. The kids immediately started to explore the site and made friends very quickly. The site is perfect for just letting the kids run free and for rounders / cricket / football etc. The weather was interesting with unbelievable thunder & lightning one night and high winds the following day. The fire pit was a must to keep warm in the evenings and a great reason to get people together for a chat and sing song.
I really can't fault this site as it was exactly what I wanted and it was great for the kids development (no TV / Gameboys etc). The toilet and washing facilities were excellent (and very green) and always clean. The field also held up amazingly well considering all the rain we had.
All in all we met lots of lovely people, our hosts were great and the peace and quiet was very therapeutic. I will definetly be back.

We visited this tent only site for a practice camp prior to a week away over the Whitsun bank holiday. It is down a quiet lane, a short walk from a pub which serves food. The other purpose was to visit the Chatham historic dockyard, which took about 45 minutes to drive to. Dickens World is nearby in Chatham.
Pitches at this site are numbered, we were advised to pitch the centre of the tent over the number and that would be the centre of the pitch. The site is relatively level with good size pitches.
The facilities on the site consist of two toilets and two separate showers, which had plenty of hot water. There are also separate wash basins and sinks for washing up. The only thing that was missing in my opinion was somewhere to hang your clothes when showering as you have to take them into the shower cubicle with you. The site was not particularly busy when we were there so did not have to queue at any time. Although we did not take advantage of it, and wished that we had, the owner brought hearths to those campers who wanted fires.
There were lots of chickens wandering around during the day, and cockerels who started crowing quite early. The only other noises that we heard wwere from 'planes flying overhead, (but there's nothing that can be done about that!) and the dawn chorus.
All in all we thought this was a lovely site set in a beautiful part of the Garden of England, with a warm welcome received on arrival.

We loved this campsite. We were awoken at 5a.M to the rooster crowing. Going for a wonder through the orchard we had fresh plums for breakfast. During the day you can collect firewood for your bonfire at night. Pure bliss! Very friendly owners, also a friendly goat onsite for the children to stroke. Phone your booking in though, we did an internet booking and were not on the books, thank goodness there was space. The amenities are clean and environmentally friendly. Met the owner cleaning and restocking at 2 in the morning, so you know cleanliness is of high importance to them. A good time was had by all. Highly recommended. Wonderful farm shop about 15 minutes drive away that makes the most wonderful croissants for Sunday brunch. There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas, we chose to spend the Saturday in Leeds Castle.

We stayed at the end of August, into September. We were really pleased to find Palace Farm. It's Eco friendly which isn't something one usually comes across. It was reasonably quiet as there is only room for 25 tents, though the field is huge so you get a good amount of space. There are two large sinks and a big work top area for washing up(under cover)and there are two electric wall sockets there too. The showers and toilets were the best we have come across and the owner's; Graham and Liz told us of their plans to make even further improvements to them, extending the shower rooms to give more space. This would be good as most showers on camp sites are so small, it's difficult not to get your towel and clothes wet. The disabled toilet / shower was very spacious. There are two toilets and one disabled toilet / shower plus two separate rooms with just sinks in them. There was loads of hot water and the showers were powerful, which also makes a change, as most places we have stayed haven't produced either of these and you'd be lucky to get a warm dribble. The owners are very friendly and told us of there plans to build a big eating area where people would be able to sit together -or it would be suited to larger groups who visit. It was great to wake up with the chickens running around and the goat Rosie, even though,on our arrival she looked quite sad, but we later found out she had not long lost her mate.Hopefully when we return she will have a new friend. In fact we are hoping to go there in November for their firework display. Unfortunately, we missed out on a good meal at the chequers pub but will definitely go there next time. We did find a really nice cafe in Faversham called the moonlight cafe, in Preston street. If you don't like pubs, you'll get a good meal there.
Overall, this has to be the best camp site we have stayed in and we hope to return soon. In fact, I was quite reluctant to put this on here. Don't want you all rushing down there.
But I said I would write it. Thumbs up all round from us.

Had an excellent stay – in fact I would say it was the best camping trip we’ve had! The field is big and although pitches are marked by stakes, it is by no means regimented. Camp fires are allowed and we enjoyed collecting wood and sitting around our camp fire. There are chickens and cockerels freely roaming around and they wake you early with their call – a lovely sound of the country! The farm also has ‘Rosie’ the goat who our children adored! The shower block is new and had just been built, so final touches were missing (i.E. Mirrors, hooks, shelves) but the owners assured us these would be completed soon. My wife’s only comment was there were no facilities to use a hairdryer – a small point we know but important for most women! The local pub is okay but the pub in Newnham (next village) was much nicer with friendly staff and had a lovely big garden. Overall Palace Farm is an excellent site in a lovely part of England. We will definitely return again.

The site is lovely, a good fairly level field, with good sized pitches marked out. it is a new small site for tents only which is partly why we went there. The toilet / shower block is brand new and has potential when finishing touches are added to be great, perfectly serviceable but it still needs a few more hooks, shelves, mirrors maybe shower curtains etc. There is no childrens' play ground, take a ball or frisbee and whatever else you can fit in and the field is one big playground for the children. Within minutes of arriving my daughter was out on her bike, playing tag, swing ball, skipping, mud pies etc. with the other children. Small fires are allowed, plenty of very dead wood in the hedges, if you walk to top of the field and through the gateway / gap an old plum orchard provided us with plenty more dead wood (and very tasty plums but watch out for the maggots, I probably ate several before realizing!), it was also a pleasant little adventure activity for my 5 yr old. Owners graham and liz both very chatty and helpful. They have some further interesting plans for the site so it would be good to visit again and see the changes. We didnt go visiting so I can't comment on surrounding attractions, our only visit was to the co-op 3 1/2 miles up the road in Faversham to restock on wine, beer and marshmallows (to cook on the fire). There was a cash point outside the co-op and I did also notice a post office and chinese t/a (closed on tuesdays). We had to cut our visit short as the weather turned too wet and windy for our tent which was a cheap fair weather tent, our good tent (vango equinox 600 tbs) having been lost in the post, but thats another story. n.B. Take ear plugs the cockerels are very noisy in the mornings. Blue skies to all you campers.

We thought this site was great. It is in the very picturesque village of Doddington. The surrounding countryside is Kent at its most charming. The camping field is level and surrounded by trees. Sunsets in this area are stunning, we couldn't stop taking photos! The facilities are of a high standard. There are two toilets, two showers a well equipped disabled shower room and toilet. Also drinking water and washing up facilities. The owners were very friendly and helpful . We had some initial confusion regarding whether we could have a campfire, as this is one of our passions. The site had only been open a couple of weeks when we visited, but we were very kindly allowed to have a small campfire to the rear of the field. I believe the owners now allow fires on specific pitches only, for safety and to keep the site looking beautiful, so best to check before booking. Before returning home we stopped at the village pub, 'Chequers', to have a sunday roast. WOW! we have never had such a great roast. The meat was fresh and delicious and was served with loads of wonderful fresh vegetables, as well as a delicious vegetable gratin, fresh apple sauce with my Pork and fresh horseradish with my partners beef. Highly reccommended. We would definitely return to this site
