We stayed here for two nights and had a lovely time, although it is probably more suitable for families rather than two adults just out to relax.
The facilities on site are clean, but we did have to wait to use then as the site was full at the time.
We had a wonderful meal at the Chequers Pub which is within easy walking distance, as with all the other reviews, this place is a must (my partner loved his steak and kidney pudding).
The real bonus for us was paying a little extra for the fire pit and logs; it was just a perfect two evenings that we spent around our campfire eating hot soup and enjoying each others company.

A real gem for those wanting a relaxed quiet camp. One big field with not too many pitches around the outside.
Toilets and showers not as posh as some but never a big queue even on lovely August weekend.
Great pub doing nice food just a 10 minute walk away and butchers / garage / shop a bit further but no newspapers anywhere !
Fire pits are great.
Owners and animals friendly and lots to do in Kent.

We visited this campsite in early August. The campsite is surrounded by trees so your protected from the wind! The site has a shower, toilet and washing up block. There are 2 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 washing up sink. Unfortunately as there are 25 pitches on the site, 2 toilets just aren't enough.
The ground is flat and you have plenty of room between tents
This is a working farm and the owners keep many chickens, the Rooster WILL wake you up every day at 5.30!
All in all the showers and toilets were clean so no complaints. And if you go to the pub, take cash as they don't take card!

Only a two night stay, just the two of us. Friendly welcome, lovely clean site and not crowded. We had stopped off at the local pub and had a fantastic lunch - real chips too!The fire pits seemed like a really lovely idea, next visit we will try one to. Lovely sight in the evening with them all glowing & the lovely smell of wood burning. We both felt a couple more toilets & showers would improve the site & definitely a place to empty the chemical toilet - not just caravans use these! We will be visiting again, really lovely area for walks and well worth a visit to Brogdale Fruit Farm, we pigged out on cherries & plums.

Just returned from weekend at Palace farm. The weather was not great which is always a problem when you are under canvas.
We found the site entrance not the prettiest however once you round the corner to the site it is a generous flat grassy field.
If you are taking a bbq remember to take blocks if it has no legs as owners do not allow bricks on field, I was offered an unsturdy tin which seemed a bit dangerous, otherwise get in early and book a fire pit which smelt lovely in the evening.
Toilets and facilities were clean, plenty of toilet paper and hand wash all weekend, and it was very busy.
Handy printed walk map available which we enjoyed.
Pub is 5 mins walk away, food ok, remember to take cash, we walked to Newnham which was very pretty village and had lovely pub/busy restaurant.
Overall we found the site ok, however expensive compared to other sites we have stayed on

Just got back from first family camping trip ever - 2 adults and 2 x 8 year olds and had a blast at Palace Farm despite the wind and the rain. Lots of space for our huge tent in a lovely enclosed field. Hot showers and separate areas for washing up dishes as well as a couple of sink cubicles. Despite the site bring pretty full (25 tent capacity), no real queues for the amenities. Firepits were also available to hire. Lots of space in middle of field for kids to play football and cricket. Recycling bins for all your rubbish.
We took a trip to Faversham - don't bother! then had lunch at the Chequers pub in Doddington - do bother!. Great ham egg and chips. Also don't miss the wonderful butcher in Doddington also selling local fruits - best strawberries I've tasted in a long time.
This was just the sort of campsite we were looking for , simple, not commercial, eco-friendly, small and family-oriented.
We'll be back

My fiancee and I recently spent two nights at Palace Farm Camp site. I chose the camp site mainly due to the great reviews on here and the lure of a fire pit.
The camp site is lovely and quiet with just the chickens calling every so often. The toilet block is large and kept immaculate, the showers are large and have plenty of hot water.
We met the couple who run the campsite a number of times and they were always welcoming, the lady even gave us some bread to feed the chickens with.
All in all it was a good two nights, we got to test the tent and cook on a fire pit which I highly recommend renting. Dont forget your fire making skills and a lighter/matches!.

We have just returned from Palace Farm where we have just spent a lovely couple of nights with our children and friends and children - two groups of us (2 adults + 4 kids and 2 adults + 2 kids). I chose this site after reading the reviews here, and was very pleased with what we found - a brilliant simple and clean site, with welcoming and helpful owners. Not the cheapest site around - it cost me and my family £64 for 2 nights, and our friends £48 for 2 nights - but we'd rather that then pay a few quid less on a site shared with caravans and mobile / static homes.
Because there is so much space and very little vehicle movement, and an adjoining field, it is a great site for playing games like French cricket. The place is just so peaceful as well, and it's nice being somewhere with no big white houses on wheels to spoil the ambience!
Weather on the way there was dreadful, and having lights on, and every single demister on full blast, while travelling slowly, and then doors being left open, resulted in the minibus battery being drained and the same happened to our friends as well. We were going to be going to Whitstable Bay for the day, but when we found both vehicles were dead yesterday morning, we decided to just hang about, chill out, and have a wander down to The Chequers pub, which is a 5 minute walk down the left hand side of the orchard, onto the footpath and down the hill into the village. We got there just after 2pm, and noticed food only went on until 2.30pm before taking a break until 7pm. But the lad who was working in there, and the young lady in the kitchen, were so welcoming and pleased to cater for our group of 10 that we sprung on them at no notice! The food was beautiful and I would recommend that everyone who visits Palace Farm should go there for dinner and drinks. We were so pleased that our vehicles refused to start. One point to bear in mind is that the pub does not have a card machine, so make sure you have either cash or cheque book.
Almost forgot. Definitely go for the fire bowl and logs. It costs a few quid extra, but it's great to be able to sit around a fire, with a huge pot of soup heating up and some crusty bread to share!

Myself, my wife and two daughters (8 & 3) have just returned from a wonderful weekend at this lovely site. Visited here based on other reviews and because it was close to home to test out our new tent. We were not disapointed.
This is a small site for up to twenty tents (there were 7 there this weekend) comprising of a large flat field surrounded by low trees / hedgerows that act as windbreaks. The pitches are sited round the edge of the field with a huge area in the middle where our children could run around and play quite safely. They particularly enjoyed visiting Rosie the goat and the chickens and chicks just outside the field.
There is one modern toilet block with washing up facilities and showers all kept very clean and well stocked throughout our stay. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoyed several interesting conversations regarding country life. They provided us with a printed map for a local 2 1/2 mile walk through the beautiful local woods and countryside that our children loved.
A very peaceful weekend was enjoyed by us all. Although only a few miles from home it was as if we were in a different world. On that basis we will definitely be back in the future.
