We have just stayed at this camp site again. Our 4th visit. And again have had a brilliant time. The facilities are all still in good order, heaps of hot water for a proper shower.

Graham and Liz are great hosts as ever. And we'll definitely be back. Icing on the cake was bumping into a family we met there last year who lent us an axe to chop the firewood a bit smaller - cheers :)

Although the site doesn't have a club house and all that stuff, it still gets a 10 out of 10 from me for facilities, and it has everything that we need. And although it's not the cheapest in the world, the people and location make it top value for money.

Just got back from a short stay here, and we were very pleased with this site, which was clean, level and well-maintained. The owners were very friendly, my children loved the goats and chickens, and having a campfire was the icing on the cake.

It's not for those seeking a festival atmosphere, it's a quiet site which is just what we were looking for, although there were quite a few children staying everybody turned in for the night fairly early, my own children were left exhausted by the day's activities!

Although we had a campfire, we also brought a disposable barbecue for cooking breakfast but on arrival and reading the rules, these aren't allowed, this didn't cause a great problem as we also had a stove but it is worth bearing in mind if planning a visit.

All in all a lovely little campsite in the heart of the Kent countryside.

We have just spent 4 nights at this lovely site. The owners Liz and Graham are such a friendly, helpful couple. Nothing is too much trouble.

The pitches are huge and they always ensure they do not pack people in. 25 pitches in total and even when the site is full, it feels so spacious. The reason we chose this site was because it allowed fires in firepits and you can buy logs there very cheaply.

You camp in one large field and the pitches are around the edge so the middle is left for kids to play and fly their kites, etc. The field is surrounded by large trees and there are walkways to the other adjoining fields and orchards. Very pretty indeed and great space to walk your dogs.

There are 2 toilet rooms and 2 rooms with just a sink and mirror. 2 showers (wet rooms) and 1 family room which has a shower, toilet and sink. Washing up facilities were good - 2 large sinks with drainers and plenty of hot water and everything was cleaned regularly.

On our last 2 days we had the site to ourselves which was an added bonus!

The area is beautiful, especially Faversham. There's the Chequers pub which is highly recommended and nice walk from the campsite and just around the corner is a fantastic butchers.

Cannot recommend this site enough and we will definitely return as often as we can. Absolutely loved it.

We've just returned from our third or fourth visit to this campsite and have to say it's probably our favourite site. The field is a good size and the grass is kept in a good condition. You're not squashed in at all, there's plenty of space around you. Camping is all about having a fire for us, so this site doesn't disappoint, just make sure to ask for a fire pit when you book a pitch. You can also buy logs from the very friendly owners, Liz and Graham.

There are three shower rooms, one large one with a toilet and two other toilets and two other rooms with basins in. And there are two washing up points and so far there has been plenty of hot water and very little or no queueing for any of the facilities.

It's set in a beautiful part of Kent and the nearby village has a fantastic butchers and very nice pub - all within a few minutes walk.

We've never had problems with other campers or noise pollution.

If I never camped at another site I don't think I would be too upset!

My family chose to visit Palace Farm for four nights in June as we had read the positive reviews on this page. We thoroughly recommend this site. We have children aged 7,5 and 2. They all had a marvellous time enjoying outdoor life and playing various games with other children on site (they didn't miss TV at all!).

The site feels secure and it is easy to see the children clearly as they are playing. Although basic, the facilities are absolutely satisfactory and kept clean. The washing-up area is great and has plenty of hot water. There is a deep freezer available in order to freeze blocks. A wind-break is a useful item to have if there is a breeze as it is such an open space.

The owners are very approachable and friendly. The field was certainly not over crowded and therefore had a spacious feel. The grass is in great condition and comfortable to walk on bare-foot. The cockerel did not bother us noise-wise, in fact, I thought it was a late riser! Unfortunately Rosie the goat has died and the owners are planning to house other goats soon. Our children were delighted to see the chickens.

We bought lovely sausages and bacon from the local butcher and delicious strawberries too. They also sell bread and milk and many other edibles. We enjoyed having a camp fire in the evenings since the weather can be a bit chilly. It is worth honing your campfire skills prior to your visit.

We were able to drive to the coast and would recommend Broadstairs. The owners have made available laminated maps and route suggestions for walks. If you are looking to relax and explore in the country, this is the place for you.

This was our first trip away that was longer than a weekend. We picked this site because of the clean reviews of the toilets and I consider myself a 'camper' so no need for electric gadgets but I do need a shower and toilet.

The site is basically a field but very roomy and loads of room for the kids to run about. Nice space between pitches.

The toilet blocks were nice and clean and I loved that there were rooms with just basins in, just toilets and ones with both and showers for family's. All were clean. The washing up area was good and not really got very busy.

The pub was a 15 minute walk away (with 2 small kids) and the butchers about a 5 minute drive. Town with a supermarket, chip shop, take aways and cash machine.

Owners were very friendly and even helped to bump start our car when it had died on our day home!

Fire pits also drew us to this site as they are great for cooking and a great focal point for the evenings.

Location was a bit in the middle of no where but we have a car so no problem. Only marked the site down a bit because facilities were minimal.

All in all a lovely site.

I am happy to say, my 1st family camping trip was an absolute delight.

Me, wife & 2 kids (8 & 6) had a great time at Palace Farm.

The toilets were clean, the showers were clean, the wash basins were clean and the washing-up area was. You guessed it. Clean.

There's acres of space for ball games/swing-ball, etc.

Previous reviewers have mentioned the Cockerel waking them up. Personally, I though it was the quietest Cockerel I've ever (just about) heard.

One of the nicest things was the space. The pitches are huge, with plenty of room for big tents and cars next to them.

Can't wait to go there again. And again. And again.

P.S. I rated the 'Site Facilities' as 9 out of 10, only because of the lack of a shop. Just remember to get the essentials on the way.

Only a two nighter trial to find out if the other half likes camping, hence picking this little gem. It's quiet and not far from a pub and a proper butchers. Shops are about a 20 minute drive with a cashpoint machine, handy as the pub doesn't take plastic but the butchers do take plastic. The pub doesn't do food on Mondays and Tuesdays so we missed out there but the butchers made up for it, even stocked up on meat and jam on the way back home.

Recommend the fire pit, great for cooking steak and sausages on from the butchers and also toasted marshmallows. If your cooking on it then get 2 bags of wood.

Facilities are basic but clean and with plenty of hot water. Washing area for dishes - very hot water.

Decent wind-break, one with guy ropes as the wind can pick up a bit and the field is flat.

Overall very nice site, friendly owners and the trip worked as now my partner likes camping and wants to go again.

We’ve just returned from another great weekend at Palace Farm. The owners Liz and Graham are very friendly and allow you to pick the very tasty plums from their orchard. We hired a fire tray which was well worth it and our children loved Rosie the goat. There is a lot to do nearby (we especially liked Whitstable and Minnis Bay), or alternatively just stay by the tent and play football and cricket in the huge field.

We think The George in nearby Newnham is a much nicer pub than The Chequers (in the village). The food is superb – try their garlic bread with stilton! We walked to The George through the woods, passed the hugely impressive Sharsted Court (home to Virginia Wade), and apple orchards – we would really recommend this walk.

We will return next year!

Am I allowed to leave another review for this site? I hope so, as I just wanted to say we have had another lovely few days here - me, the wife, 4 kids and out 2 little dogs. The toilet/shower block is still being kept clean and fully stocked. The owners are really friendly and it's great to have a nice chat with them. Despite some really heavy rain the site remained mud free, thanks to being up a hill and well drained. Very windy this time, but this didn't take away at all from our enjoyment. Just love this place - it's basic, it's pretty peaceful, and makes for a relaxing break. Not the cheapest site in the world when you pay per person and there are six of us, but I think it's still well worth it.

The orchard is just bursting with beautiful plums at the moment, and we were allowed to pick a load. One of my daughters has just made 4kg of the most wonderful plum jam :) If visiting in August, then grab some plums.

Leeds Castle is just up the road. We were going to visit last time but I was shocked at the price when I phoned up, so we didn't. Anyway, popped over there this time and found out that the tickets they issue you with a valid for any number of visits over the whole of the year! We'll be making the most of that then.
