 Great location for 'wild camping' (with some facilities, no elec hook-up) in a field with direct access to the beaches and views of the Sunset and Iona to die for. Peaceful.
Situated on a working sheep farm, early to find, great surface on access road, warm welcome, booking not normally required.
There are 2 port-a-Los for campers on the campsite next to a chemical disposal hole (with no water flush!), the main toilet and. Shower block (2showers & 2 toilets/Ladies/Gents) and dishwashing area is at the farm house, a short walk from the campsite. When busy with campers, might be not enough.
This was our first 'wild camping' experience in our MH for 2 nights without an electrical hook up. Not a problem, was just a bit worried about the battery drain as no previous experience.
The #SimpsonScottiesGlasgow loved sitting out watching the world go by, we had a pair of otters swim to the beach on the last morning.
We'd go back, peaceful as no Vodaphone or most other netwok signal, however my wife had a weak O2 signal
We cycled the 1mile undulating, generally uphill back to Fionaphort to visit Iona, it was a great ride back on the way home.

After a two day journey to get here the welcome was warm and friendly and the relaxation started there and then. Being in a tent with some blustery weather on the way the advice was to pitch away from the ridge and, if possible, to use the rocks and the car as wind breaks. A flag flies in the middle of the site to show you which way the wind is blowing.
If, like me, you are going in a tent pay attention to any weather warnings and pitching advice, peg down well with good sturdy pegs and you and your tent should come out of it unscathed.
In the field itself there is very basic facilities, a couple of toilets and drinking water. Walk back up to the farmyard and there are more toilets, showers and a washing up area. I also discovered on the day before I came home that there is a freezer for freezing your blocks in, however it is in the outer vestibule of the gents toilet block so as a lone female traveller I would have been a little hesitant at using it when the site was busy.
The whole site is very relaxed and you soon find yourself slowing down and just watching the world go by. Great until you are trying to get to a boat trip or ferry crossing. Also whatever you do, do not go anywhere on site without your camera, rainbows, sunsets, the beach, the wildlife all pop up at every opportunity.
Things that some people (not me) might see as disadvantages to the site. It is a working farm so there will probably be livestock in the field. When I arrived it was ewes and lambs, they were moved on a couple of days later and replaced with a couple of tups. It can be very disconcerting to hear your guy lines twanging when a sheep decides that they are the ideal thing to scratch and itch with. The other disadvantage is the size of the site, its long and thin so if you are at the far end you could be half a mile away from the main facilities block in the farmyard, the people I saw at that end often used a bike to travel between their pitch and the facilities.
The beach has lovely white sand and if the sun is shining the water appears to be aquamarine. At low tide there is plenty of space to explore and at high tide the gentle slope is ideal for paddling or launching canoes/kayaks.
Another site that has made it to my revisit list and one I thoroughly recommend if you want a relaxed place to visit.

Remarkable site, pick your own pitch. Good directions from main road and called at the farmhouse, lovely welcome, shown all the facilities, lovely shower and toilet block with extra temporary toilets further into the site. £7 per person per night is more than reasonable. The location is superb as you are situated on the top of the beach with crystal clear water and white sands. Excellent walking to Knockvologan where you will see the most beautiful beaches, try it you wont be disappointed. Iona ferry terminal is a short walk, and shops and pub there as well. Only disappointment when emptying the waste at the Jolly Roger flag, the stench on lifting the manhole cover was terrible, not for the weak stomach ones.

Absolutely stunning location and well worth the drive to get there. The site is set right on the edge of the beach with marvellous views across to Iona. We were pitched almost on the sea edge where we witnessed breathtaking sunsets.
The site is very large, pay £7 per adult and pitch where you like. The site is fairly exposed so choose your pitch well and peg down properly. Our tent stood well during one night of very high winds but others were not so lucky. The facilities are clean but few and far between - only one water tap that I could see, a toilet block with 2 showers and toilets for each sex and a Portacabin with one for each in the middle of the site. There is also a dish washing area and basic chemical disposal point. Think if it as wild camping with access to water and clean loo/shower. Quiet at night. Dog friendly and the children (and adults) seemed to be having a great time frolicking and playing about in dinghies/kayaks in the sea.
Just over a mile walk into Fionnphort where there is a small shop and pub. Ferry here to Iona and Staffa tours.
This site is a long drive to other places on Mull with marvellous scenery en-route to everywhere. But well worth the effort. Idyllic site

What an amazing place. The best view from any campsite we had ever visited. This place is magical. The campsite is on the most beautiful beach and set in a quite setting. Fidden Farm will not suit you if you are after big games room and communal areas, as it doesn't have it. But if you want peace and quiet in a lovely spacious setting then visit Fidden Farm. The shower facilities although small are top quality and very clean. The local town on Fionnphort ( one mile away if that) has a small shop, café (day only) and a pub called Keel Row, so would recommend taking all the provisions you need before you arrive. Will go back soon.

Fantastic spot, unless the wind gets up! There is loads of space and you can pitch up with views out across the sea. It really is quite breathtaking. The wash blocks are sited back at the farm so depending on where you pitch you could end up with a fair walk. There were two showers and three toilets per sex and a washing up room in the main block and a couple of porta loos in the main field. These were all very well built and kept clean and tidy.
The shop at Finna-Foot (that's how it's pronounced, not spelt) is OK but we found the Spa on Iona better! The village pub is friendly too.
Must do's: Iona, Fingals cave (£30 per person) worth every penny! Carsaig Arches (a walk not for the faint hearted), Ben More summit.
We blew our eating-out budget in one go at the Ninth Wave Restaurant. Including drinks £140 for the two of us but a fantastic 4 course meal to remember for all the right reasons.
For the location, one of the most memorable sites we've been to.

This site is absolutely stunningly remote - right on the beach with white golden sands and deep turquoise sea looking toward Iona
There are no electric hook ups and no formal layout of pitches - but nothing like this matters, the location is so beautiful with acres of space - its worth the long drive from the Oban ferry (1. 45hrs)
The farmer and owner is friendly and helpful, the showers (2 male 2 female) and toilets (2 + 2) wewre always beautifully clean
It was quiet when we were there with only a couple of other campers/campervans so access to the facilities was never a problem
A 30 min walk takes you to Fionnaphort with cafe, shop, Post Office, the ferry to Iona and depending on the time of day, hoards of tourists disembarking from the tour coaches
Our favourite site of the trip and we'll be back

In good weather, the location of this site is just idyllic- it is possible to camp overlooking the sandy beaches and turquoise bay with its tidal islets and rocky coves. It overlooks Iona and the island of Erraid. The sea around it is clean and safe for water sports, and the sunset from the campsite is just wonderful. There is plenty of space in the main camping field, and assuming you don't choose to camp right on the coast, you could pitch up with a good bit of space between you and others- even in high season. It is however, becoming a very popular and 'cool' site, for obvious reasons, and occasionally suffers because of this- a lot of visitors with a lot of money and a lot of kit who are clearly pitched up for a long stay, busy toilets and at times, a bit noisy. We did come in high season though, and recognise that, if you have the luxury of being able to come in May or June, it must be absolutely amazing. The facilities are very pleasant, although quite a walk to the main block and its showers and dishwashing facilities, and when it is as busy as it was when we were there, there are inevitable queues. A couple of plumbed portaloos are a handy addition for the middle of the night loo visits! Its a pleasant mile walk/drive/ride along a singletrack road into Fionnphort and the Iona ferry, a small shop selling the basics and the pub.
The other feature of the site is its exposure- we moved the day before we knew strong wind was coming in, and even then there was a constant strong breeze off the sea, and other campers who moved after us told us the site owner- the farmer- had gone round telling people to move off the top of the dunes overlooking the sea. Even to move off there though, there was very limited shelter and once the wind got up, it would have wrecked tents and ripped them to shreds. A site with the potential to be wonderful, or really pretty grim, dependent on what the weather throws at you!

The big plus point for this site is it's superb location beside a beautiful beach; white sand and calm, crystal clear water. There is also plenty of space to pitch on short turf that dries quickly. It is a very popular site but we were easily able to find a spot which felt uncrowded and gave privacy.
The facilities are very well kept despite the demands made on them by the high number of users. The only drawback is that there are few toilets/showers for the number of campers and so there is an element of queuing at busy times.
It is a remote site which is part of its attraction. There is a shop and a pub in Fionnport. The pub, The Keel Row, also does excellent carry out. The next nearest shop is small and in Bunessan about 15 minutes drive away.
We would happily go back in the future.

Remote and beautiful location. Opportunities to pitch in different kinds of places. Ideal for a beach based holiday with good access for water facilities.
Generally quiet and we were there in high season with a lot of young people around.
The shower and toilet facilities are excellent in quality although relatively limited numbers.
Limited local facilities in Fionnphort but the pub (The Keel Row) serves excellent good value meals, and the local shop is reasonably stocked - recommend the local meats, cheese, pies, sausages and black pudding.
We would go out of our way to return.
