Just returned from a wonderful 8-night stay at South Wales Touring Park. This is a family owned site and Hywel and Cathrin do a wonderful job of looking after the guest and the lovely facilities.
They site has 10 seasonal pitches, 6 (slight slope) standard electric hard standing and 10 (flat) extra large serviced hard standing pitches.
The site Wi-Fi is excellent. Hywel and Cathrin are working around the site daily to ensure that all the visitors enjoy their stay. Hywel cuts the grass and rakes the hard standing pitches after every visitor leaves ready for the next holidaymaker.
On the day of our holiday, we received a welcome/introductory text/email. On the journey we received another updated message to say our pitch was ready for us.
The facilities block contains male and female toilets a washing up area, unisex showers including a laundry section. The block also contains the chemical disposal point a grey waste drain and a dog shower.
There is also a small dog walking area where they can be let off the lead. At the end of the standard pitch section is another drinking water tap, grey waste drain motorhome filling area. There is also an information shed with lots of information on local attractions and days out.
They also have a selection of DVD’s that can be used. They also have a van that visits the site on Saturday morning that sells fresh produce, veg, milk and meats all locally sourced.
The site has been very well thought out. The pitches are tiered and staggered to allow all visitors to access the wonderful views across the countryside. The site is also within easy reach of many local beaches on the Gower Peninsula and Pembery Country Park.
The fully serviced pitches are obviously slightly more expensive than the standard electric pitches
This site is excellent value all round. Please share this review with your family and friends. I shouldn’t really say that because I might not be able to get a pitch for myself, But the owners really deserve to be rewarded for all their hard work. We have already booked to return next year.
Highly recommend this site and absolutely well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful time staying on Hywel and Catherine's site. Were nothing was too much trouble.
He certainly takes pride in his business and makes sure everything is spot on. I was kept well informed from start to finish.
I travelled over 350 miles and wished I lived closer to stay there more.
This site is highly recommended you will not be disappointed guaranteed.

This is a beautiful site, immaculately clean with amazing shower and toilet facilities! Very friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed on a fully serviced pitch with a gorgeous view over the countryside and the River Loughor in the distance.
It was very quiet and felt very safe.
Plenty of places to visit within a short drive and also lots of out of town stores like The Range, Halfords etc only a few miles away.
This cost £29. 50 per night, which seemed like a great price for August!
Definitely a site we will return to :)

Still a very good site and would recommend. 2 gripes this time 1.
The barrier I do not like it at the top of the steep hill 2.
The amperage for the electrics needs to be 16amp on a number of times it kept tripping even on a 1 KW setting for hot water + the fridge.
|
Management response: Thank you for the review, we are glad you would still recommend us, and enjoyed your stay..
Your Gripes 1. The security barrier - security is really important, and the location of the barrier was the most sensible place we could think of. We do send out an email with our contact numbers the day before arrival, then on your arrival day, if you wish we can open the barrier before you reach the top of our drive. Most guests stopped in that area even before the barrier went in. If you can think of an alternative location, please do let me know, we are always open to suggestions.
2. The electrics 16amp. This is something we have been looking at for quite a while, but to upgrade the supply to the park is in the region of £40k Even at 10amp per pitch our electricity bills are huge, so we have also been looking at installing meters.
Regarding you tripping out on what you were running, that is strange, we had all our electrics tested not long ago, and they seemed fine. Next time please tell us during your stay, and I will call our electrician up to have a look at it whilst you are still here.
We look forward seeing you again soon.
Hywel and Cathrin. |

5 star facility.
Nothing was too much trouble for Hywel and the soap/towels etc in the toilet were a very special touch.
I would definitely come back here.
