Stayed 10 nights at Parkdean West Bay, pitch no 88, second tier down from top. Great views over West Bay, not so good views over roofs of the many statics, as the touring area is at the back of the park.
The pitches are tight to position the caravan onto due to the tiered pitches, but with a mover was no problem.
Gents toilet block could do with a bit of a revamp as is feeling a little dated, though the other half said the ladies sounded a little more modern inside, both were kept clean though.
Well stocked shop on site, a tad pricey. Ate once in the bar, and while reasonably priced, portions on the small side.
West Bay itself has several places to eat, can recommend the Restaurant/cafe on the beach for woodfired pizza in the evening.
West Bay does get very busy when the sun is shining, but more than enough parking, and cheap too at £2 all day! The beach is small shingle and not the most comfortable to walk on.
The park was kept very clean, with litter pickers patrolling daily, and plenty of waste bins.
We would definitely consider returning if the kids were still of an age to come on family holidays, but next summer will be just the two of us, (yippeeeee!), and we are happy with just a field and EHU.

Pitched our tent here in preparation for our grand tour of Europe. Had not phoned in advanced or booked, just turned up and tried our luck. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, gave us a pitch along the top with a fantastic view of the bay.
We were fortunate with the weather which always makes a difference but they have lovely grassed pitches, separated by a small fence, loads of space and as they were not full there was plenty of space to spread out.
The facilities were clean and tidy, everything you could need. The restaurant looked OK although we did not eat on the site. We did check out the entertainment in the evening which was great and I was very surprised that the loud music did not seem to escape the building. Could not hear a peep back at the tent.
Spent most of our time down by the beach which is also where we ate. Lovely site, would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Great place to unwind and chill - although if you are on a diet this is the wrong place for you!
The site is very clean and tidy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location - only 10 min slow walk to harbor and beach. Loads of really good places to eat, with loads of variety from excellent fish and chips to chowder to dorset cake, ice cream. My list could go on!
There was an indoor pool, shop and bar area but didn't use them.
Really child out and really would recommend staying here!
Will stay again in 2015 without a doubt!

Great Location - amazing views over West Bay, we were lucky
To have amazing weather, stayed for 2 nights.
Toilets and showers nice and clean.
Easy walk into Bridport, so great for Motorhome/Camper as
No need to unhook - stay put and relax for couple of days.
Nice to have swimming pool as well, lucky as a quiet week -
Not many children around so peaceful.

This is the sort of site we would normally avoid like the plague; a holiday park, clubhouse with organised entertainment, on site arcade.
We chose this site for a 4 night Easter break because we like the south coast but most importantly it has a free to use indoor pool which we knew would provide entertainment for our pre-teens in the event of poor weather.
However, the weather was glorious and although they went to the pool, it was an added bonus rather than the main event for our children.
So as it turned out, we loved the site and extended our stay. West Bay is a lovely little place and for us the beauty was not only in its pretty seaside-ness but also in that our children took themselves down to the harbour crabbing for hours on end without needing adult supervision to get there. It was so close we were able to maintain contact with walkie talkies which was great for remote supervision.
Bridport is just up the road and is a lovely town full of vintage style gift shops and cafes - would be easy to spend a fortune.
But for the most part we stayed in West Bay and felt no need to venture further afield. We were happy to while away the time messing about on the beach, wandering along the coastal path and drinking in the various hostelries.
It is true that there is a very large number of mobile homes on this park but beyond that the touring section is terraced with great views out to the sea (especially if you choose a pitch numbered 90 or above and if you ignore the mobile homes). The facilities were kept very clean and tidy and the showers were really good.
We will definitely return again out of season and would recommend the site to anyone.

Had a week on the site with my friend and her 4 year old son. We were on the upper terraced area of the touring pitches so good view across the park and to the sea. Quite a challenge pitching tent in the wind as no shelter and found the wind stayed with us all week!
Nice site with very good shower block, kids club a little 'cheesy' but he loved it and made friends with other children and really helped us out when the weather was wet!
Main reception very helpful but touring pitch warden a little more direct. Pitches are adequate if a little cosy once we had erected the tent and porch the car squeezed in alongside meant we had to sit out in the track/road but not many vehicle movements so safe enough.
Club on site Ok if you like your cabaret night and bingo, food Ok but chip shop opposite better. Big Morrison's just at Bridport, site shop Ok but closed at 7pm
West bay is a charming little harbour town with cafe, pubs and liitle huts around the quayside selling everything from chips to pasties. Highly recommend 'Rachael's' if you like your fresh sea food, then sitting out Al Fresco. But beware the Seagulls of course!
Kids LOVED crabbing off the harbour wall so splash out on a net and bait as great fun!
The advertised 'Golden Beaches' is correct in colour, but small stones and dropping off deep very quickly so not suitable for the bucket and spade lovers amongst us.
Took the bus to Lyme Regis and Weymouth, £10 for a familly day ticket and saved a lot of hassle with parking!
Best beach for us was at Charnmouth, just before Lyme Regis & famous for fossil hunting so bring a goody bucket and hammer! Nice cafe, easy parking and a little bit of sand :o)

Having just returned from this site.
Showers clean and warm.
The pitches are tight you have to be carefull off your front wheels going over the edge. The pitches are not that level had to use blocks and still couldn't get level. The wardens where non exsitant. The pitch up from us decided to run 3 electric heaters which constantly blew the electric on the entire row not a lot was done about that even after complaining 4 times.
The chippy just over the rd was excellent sit down or takeaway and rachels for seafood was good.
Nice littlle harbour with boat trips ect
Pebble beach with some nice cliff walks
On site pool nice and warm.
Used the entrtainment once which the kids enjoyed.
Would I stay again probally not. But maybe we just had a unlucky week with other sellfish campers

Our first visit to this site but the weather tried it's best to spoil it.
The reception staff were very friendly & extremely helpful.
We had an electric hookup for our large tent but the prices were still reasonable. The pitches are on a hillside but are level, although they can be a bit exposed in bad weather.
The toilet/shower block was clean & warm and not too far from the touring pitches.
The shop is sufficient for your needs & the bar is reasonable. We did not go into the more comfortable entertainment area as we wanted a bit of peace but it appeared to be very popular.
I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, it has a decent menu & the prices are not too high but my chicken tikka masala was bland, not very tasty & I got the impression it was 'boil in a bag', my wife's meal was not much better. On the plus side, there is a really good fish & chip shop just across the road from the site shop. Brilliant fish, no skin, no bones & really tasty!
Most of the pubs nearby are a bit on the pricey side.
West Bay is a nice little place but we couldn't really enjoy it as the weather was so bad. We just jumped on a bus & went to Weymouth, Bridport or Lyme Regis.
On a nice sunny day, this would be a nice place to be.

Have just stopped on this site for a week (sadly the week before the summer turned up).
The good stuff:
Easy to access if you're towing.
Fab location for views of the cliffs and sea (if you get the right pitch which we did).
Great for those who like coastal walks (some tough hills but the scenary makes them worth it).
Located just over a mile from Bridport and a Morrisons.
West bay is a pretty little port with some fab little places for fish and chips (I can recommend Rachels).
Good size pitches
Great swimming pool with Sauna and steam room.
Great ghost walk in Bridport (goes from by the tourist centre)
Friendly welcome and information on arrival.
Stuff that wasn't so good:
Quite a few pitches were sloping so could make things tricky.
No evening entertainment on site (although there may be some during the school holiday apparently).
Some showers were better than others (but it was quiet enough to just pick the good one each time)
Beaches aren't exactly child friendly as they're very stoney and not great for paddling
Overall would recommend it though
