Just came back from having two weeks at lovely site.
Site facilities were decent, shower & toilet were very clean and well kept. Reception was light and airy also very welcoming. The club was ok didn't use it that much as entertainment was rather disappointing to much aimed at kids, even though not yet school holidays. The bar room with huge TV was lovely doing some nice but basic meals.
West Bay itself is a beautiful bay, with working habour, lots of gorgeous scenery.
If you like shellfish Rachels on the harbour is a must, everything fresh from local fishermen, also
Half the price of the restaurants in the area, who have there food bought in from elsewhere.
We will be definitely going back.

We visited this site and were very pleased with the overall experience.
The online booking procedure was easy and efficient.
The reception on arrival was warm, pleasant and informative.
The site is mainly for static homes. However, the touring section is well catered for and has access to all the facilities of the campsite.
These facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, bar, restaurant, children's entertainment, shop and evening entertainment for all.
The pool is lovely and warm. It must be if 'Her Indoors' enjoyed it.
The site is situated within the village of West Bay.
West Bay is a delightful village with a small harbour.
There are a number of very good value take away food establishments around the harbour. If 'Fish & Chips' are your fancy, then this is the place!
We thoroughly recommend this site and will return.

This is a nice site with brilliant views over the sea with tiered pitches which at first glance seemed flat but we needed ramps to get level.
Showers pretty good with a push button and code entry to the doors.
A few shops around the harbour which is pretty close and lots of chippy's!
Nice way to people watch on the harbour cafe.
Bus from outside the site takes you to Poole and Weymouth.
The site is pretty expensive at £22. 50 a night but I suppose it's in a nice area with lots of facilities and the swimming pool and entertainment is free, so looking it that way, you could spend a lot more on another site, but we heard after we got here that they do a deal if you book a fortnight in advance,
Would come again if it was cheaper as we don't use the swimming pool or the entertainment, as its more based for children and ours have flown the nest.
There were lots of tourers at the site.
We would use this site again.
Seems a long way in from reception through all the statics, all laid out nice though with no tatty ones to be seen.
Steep hill going through the tourers and the highest ones having a sea view the lower 2 tiers not being able to see the sea!

This site was quite large with most of the units being large static caravans.
The touring part was well laid out and we had a fully serviced pitch, the wardens and staff were extremely helpful.
Showers had only 1 hook to hang your clothes on with no small stool to sit on or put your clean clothes.
Getting you feet dry required you to be very flexible!
There were no washbasins with privacy cubicles at all in the women's showers considering this was a large and expensive site
Great location, near to the small village and beach.
There are a couple of pubs/restaurants in the harbour area. We went to the George where we had extremely good food at reasonable prices. Be sure to get there early as they appear not to take food orders after 9pm and the bar closes early (11pm)as well.
Overall the site was very very expensive at £50 per night !

We spent a lovely weekend camping here and were blessed with fantastic weather so spent most of the time on the beach. I would say the best thing about this site is the location - even from the camping field it was only 5 mins to the harbour, beach etc. It is also great for exploring the lovely coastline nearby.
We only used the bar once and this was quiet and relaxing, we didn't eat there or sample the entertainment. The shower / toilet facilities we quite dated, certainly not the best I've ever seen.
There is a code on the door which is good as I think this helps stop people misusing them. However, the open drain which ran through the showers was over flowing, the water was burning hot (we weren't the only people complaining about this) and the floor very wet.
On the plus side there was a hairdryer! We also really liked the washing up facilities (not so keen on the many spiders lurking inside though).
Our pitches was on the lowest level (4&5) and they were plenty big enough for tent plus car with a bit of space to spare. We were also right next to the water point which was nice as there didn't seem to be many of these on the site.
The most annoying thing was that you have to be off the pitch by 10am - if you're only staying for a weekend this means you lose a whole day as have to be packed up and out so early. We enquired about extending our pitches and they said we could do one of them until 6pm but that it would have cost £14.
The whole weekend only cost £54 per tent (4 people in each)so I think we might have been best off booking the extra night as it could have been cheaper and we wouldn't have had to worry about them not being able to extend til 6pm on the day of departure.
If you are on the upper level pitches you will have a great view but toilets etc. Are at the bottom of a very long steep hill, not so great at 3am

Had a wonderful time, we only stayed 1 night so could not book before hand. We were allocated a poor pitch so went back to reception to ask for better and they had plenty of better ones to offer-seemed daft though for them not to allocate the best first
Ours was on the highest tier #111, had fantastic view, nice flat and little fences to divide the pitches. Although each tier is level it is still a climb up to the top one, we didn't mind it was worth it for the view.
Wonderful village, cant wait to get back, lovely cliff walks, great little fish and chips stalls everywhere, beautiful beach.
Entertainment wasn't the best I've seen at ParkDean but kids still had a good time, disappointed with pool- they do know how to take a picture for that catalogue that deceives you, very warm though and lots of life guards.
Overall great family holiday and will return.

Have just returned from a 7 night stay at West Bay and can honestly say this is a great site, we stayed on the upper tier of the site with great views over the bay to the sea and harbour.
Pitches were level and quite spacious on the upper tier.
Site warden on site was very friendly and happy to assist with any any queries we had in pitching correctly and any other information we required over the week.
This site is great for a stay if you like walking or if you want to be in a good seaside location for touring Dorset and into Somerset. Buses pick up from the bay and you can travel along the Dorset coast quite easily.
Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean while we were on site (this was a quite period).
Cant wait for our next visit to West Bay again and will certainly use this site.

We stayed here for 2 nights during the Whitsun half term. The touring field was almost full, although the neatly kept pitches were sufficiently well spread. We had a hard standing with hook up, as that was the only option on booking online. We would have been as well having a grass pitch with hook up.
Certainly not cheap. Clearly the school holiday factor on the pricing. The excuse is that all facilities and entertainment is included. But not every day! even though the fee is the same.
Toilet block well kept.We had visited another Parkdean site recently, West Bay is clearly showing it's age and needs a refresh.
WestBay is a beautiful sea front village with stunning walks all around. The harbour is a pleasant place to spend a day wandering, watching boats in and out, kids can go crabbing, and play in safety. The little huts selling food are great value and give you a chance to step back in time.
We have truly discovered Dorset this season and will visit West Bay itself again, but find a better value campsite in future.

Great views from this site, camping is furthest away from the entrance and facilities which for me is great for me as no issues with noise. Not good for the children's bathroom visits.
You are on a sloping teared site with flat area's for the tents / caravans. Pitches did seem very small with a number of campers blocking the access road with awnings for a few hours before being told to take them down.
Entertainment was good for the children, with Sid and Lizzy. Entertainers were on the most part helpful and happy.
The toilets and showers were just about clean and in need of tlc, ranging from missing shower heads in both the shower block and swimming pool area, to paint pealing off.
Main entertainment area very tired.
Camping and touring staff were great very helpful.
Pool is ok. And children's play area was good.
Short walk to the harbour area with things to do, boat hire on to the river, fishing trips to sea, and of cause crabbing for me.
Short 10 min drive to major shops, but on site shop was adequate. Chip shop was good.

Just returned (31/7) from a fabulous week at West Bay (Great weather).
1. Pitches - well divided (we were on Hardstanding, 3rd tier). Pegs went in fine. Only downside was, we just fitted Caravan/Awning/Car, in front of us was very narrow for pulling out in the car and then a drop down to next level (Glad grass wasn't too wet).
2. Site - Clean, showers fine-no charge & clean. Entertainment - ok, catered for all ages. Cafe - ok for usual cafe meals.
3. Location - brilliant. Central for all areas of the Jurassic Coast. Harbour great for fishing. Fishing trips get booked up quickly - book couple of days in advance. All beaches are stone/shingle
4. Shop - stocks all basics and Morrisons 5 mins away.
5. Travel advice - if using Sat Nav and entering from Axminster side, don't take the exit for the post code - carry on straight (follow Bridport signs) till West Bay is signposted, go right at the roundabout where the 'Crown' pub is and over the harbour bridge - site is on the right.
We visited Durdle Door (Steep walk down to bay), Monkey World, Poole, Weymouth & Lyme Regis while we were there - there are regular bus routes to most destinations from Bridport.
Would return to this site (if we are able to request pitch location)
