For the cost of the site pitches its poor. Work has been done to improve the toilets and shower block but they are still in the 70s .
They have a games room for children which is unsupervised.
The show room has seating set out like a canteen
Just like butlins used to be in the 60s but with out the entertainment
By the way the warders try very hard but have little help .

No space between tents, terrible view from tent, small pool with limited time of 1 hr if your lucky, bad food, expensive drinks, expensive shop, nothing to do in west bay and dirty showers. This was meant to be a lovely holiday but it was a real waste of money. Felt really weird being so close to each tent also felt unsafe with a sheer drop onto other tents below.
If this camp should improve it would need more toilets and more cleaners.
There was a play ground but it was ok but I have better at my local park.I feel they should improve this.
In west bay there is very little.A pub which sells a carvery which made a nice change to chips which is what they sell in west bay.West bay is very very small and young family's will struggle to entertain the children.
The local shop is very well known for selling items at a high price so if you need food go to Morrison which is about 5 mins from camp and do a lovely breakfast.
This park could be better.

Just came back from a wonderful, hot weekend at West Bay.
When we arrived we were greeted by welcoming and helpful staff and this stayed the same throughout our 3 night stay.
The pitch was level, only one moan was that the pitches were a little cramped. We were on the top tier and had a lovely view over West bay and the sea.
The shower block, toilets etc were very clean and very well equipt for family's, even had a bath.
The site itself was very clean and very good for children. Playground was fantastic, my two children loved it. Didn't really sample the entertainment, but from what I saw briefly it seemed pretty good.
Swimming pool was ok, although was not big enough for amount of people on the park, and toddler pool was too cold.
Restaurant was lovely,we had breakfast there and was very well done.
West bay itself, which is just outside of the camp was stunning. We had a lovely meal in The George hotel and was beautiful.
All round a fantastic holiday, would definitely recommend and will be coming back.

The pitches are way too small, we were only a couple of feet away from the caravan on one side and the tent on the other which I'm sure breaks the rules stipulating the required distances between caravans and tents. The main view from the camping field was just static caravan roofs. The photo on the website of the 'beach' was very cleverly taken to make it much nicer and bigger than it really is. Our main concern was the total absence of any sort of security on entering the site. A friend visited us for 2 nights, he just drove in and nobody knew he was there! Not good when children are wondering around in a supposedly safe environment. The pool is also open to the public and for a site with over 200 pitches, they only allow 45 in the pool at a time! Although the entertainment is not our cup of tea we went in a couple of times with the kids and we were shocked at how appallingly bad it was, it made Britain's Got Talent look good! The harbour is full of fish and chip kiosks and nothing else. I've read a few of the reviews from other people and I fail to see what they saw as good. I've never left a review before but I felt so strongly about this place that I felt I had to and hope that someone from West Bay reads this.

We went to west bay beg of July in a touring van with daughter age 3, baby son and brother in law was in a tent with his 2 teenager daughters. Site was really nice and clean together with the toilets. Weather for the first week was not so good and we had quite a bit of rain, only glad we were on touring field though as the statics near the main amenities were quite flooded around them, but we had no such issues. We had quite a big pitch as we were next to the water tap so plenty of room, but others seemed a little small. Great site as you are right in west bay so can have a walk around the harbour and onto the beach. Beach is small pebbles and is not pushchair friendly! daughter still enjoyed it though. Main bad points; all amenities are at the front of the park and as usual tourers are at the back, shop on site is expensive, but there is a Morrisons just in Bridport and as we went just before the school hols, the teenage entertainment was not on.
Overall nice site and would return.

Myself, partner & 5 year old daughter have just got back from our first camping holiday and we had a great time at West Bay. We were lucky with the weather it was beautiful. The toilet/shower blocks were spotlessly clean & we never had to queue. Our 5 year old loved the playground which consisted of lots of obstacles, swings, slides climbing ect. The beach was just across the road, and it was a great beach, it consisted of very fine pebbles with sand at the bottom.(Pebbles quite uncomfortable to walk on)Plenty of chip shops, a beautiful harbour with boat rides, a shop right by beach selling delicious ice creams. The only complaint I would have is that the swimming pool was too cold, other than that staff friendly, good entertainment. Top Marks

Although the weather was horrendous for the whole of our stay and this made getting to and from our caravan a bit of a slippery ordeal - this did not stop us from having a fabulous time! The caravan and camping field is split into 3 tiers and we were on the top tier, the pitch we had was quite small, but we had been pre-warned by the staff about this, so not a problem.
The facilities were A1 - the park was great for children of all ages, the pool was never over crowded and well staffed. The childrens club proved a hit with our children who couldnt wait to go each day, and the club house entertainment had something for all ages. The beach, although shale, was very picturesque, and I imagine would look even prettier in the sun. The town of Bridport is worth a visit too - lots of 'quaint' little shops, with the odd chain store here and there. The toilets and showers were plentiful and always spotlessly clean. A good, value for money campsite and definitley worth a visit!

Arrived at the height of the VERY wet August weather. Site still open, but should have closed. Pitches on tiers, quite steep, a few units got stuck. Pitches very tight. We decided to see out our 2 weeks. Pitch dried out ok. Toilets for some reason were amongst the statics! Not very clean. The site was in a nice position overlooking the bay. Lovely walks along coast & into Bridport. Nice fish & chips opposite site. Reception staff didn't seem to want campers on their static site, but site wardens were helpful and friendly. Bins always overflowing and no control over noise at night. Play area under water around statics. No room amongst tents for youngsters to safely play. This site is part of a ever growing group of sites that seems to tuck the campers in a courner that's of no use for anything else and a trek to all amenities. Would NOT return or reccommend.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our first 'outing' in our VW 1976 Campervan. West Bay is a very picturesque village and lovely to walk around both day time and evenings. The new 'pier' is perfect for a very pleasant stroll & to watch the 'comings and goings' in the harbour. Many boat trips also run from here. There was plenty of choice of pubs and restaurants. The fish and chip stalls around the harbour do great business and we chose the one with the longest queue and were not disappointed with the tasty freshly cooked cod & chips.
We were on the first tier of the tourers site which is terraced up the hill. All the pitches seemed to have electric hookup. The toilet and shower block was first class, it seemed newly refurbished, lovely hot water you didnt want to get out from under. It was very clean and closed at 3pm each day for an hour for 'deep cleaning' or that's what the sign said! Even at this time of year it was quite busy and quite good value at £12.00 per night.
The use of swimming pool was included although we didn't manage to get there. Other reviews have said the site shop was expensive and we did use it more for convenience than anything. The evening entertainment was good especially the comedian who was slightly risque but luckily not too many children still up at this point. We look forward to returning to this site.

Myself, husband and 2 of my children aged 14 and 12 have just spent a pleasant week at West Bay Holiday Park. The site itself is perfect for families, though we did arrive on what had been a wet day and the pitch was just turning from muddy to normal. We were on the third level up, as the touring site went up hill. A minute walk from what was a clean and tidy shower block. Another 5 min walk took us to the main area's with swimming pool, shop bar and cafe all at hand. We did find the shop a little expensive but this seems to be the norm on most camp sites,(Morrison's was 5 Min's away so it wasn't a problem). Nearby you have all the normal seaside foods you expect, IE: donuts, fish and chips etc. I must point out, the fish and chip shop over the road from the site is excellent!
As this was our first visit to West Bay we didn't really know what to expect. We personally like a seafront to walk along, which yes West Bay has but only a quarter mile long one! The walk along the beach (which I must add is mainly cobble)is very hard going as the sand that does appear the further the sea goes out is very soft and "sinky". Which pushchairs, wheelchairs etc have no chance of going on, but it really is a beautiful walk along the side of the cliffs and well worth it. Over all if your looking for a base for Weymouth, its around 20 miles away, which can be a pain, but the views along the coast are gorgeous, we would go again, but probably for a weekend .
