Stayed bank holiday weekend. Lady on reception is a little fierce but the other couple running the site are friendly. Some good cop bad cop thing going on. Pitches are reasonably flat a little cramped but seen worse. Toilets very clean, ladies showers one was out of order so my wife had to wait 20 mins for a shower. Train noise not an issue just a loud blash every hour between 7-10pm. Good location for swanage, Weymouth area, enjoyed the old steam railway.

We stayed here twice in August for two nights each time.
Although we were more than happy with the appearance of the site and with the cleanliness of the facilities and all that was available we won't be staying here again.
It took us a long time to get the tent pitched as, we found out on the second visit, the site is on an old gravel pit with very little topsoil. What makes this a great free draining site makes it hell for bashing in the pegs. We were also disappointed that we had a noticeably sloping pitch. On the first visit we thought this may have been because we arrived quite late, but the pitch was no better the second time.
If an hour of bashing doesn't bother you then this is a great site for visiting Weymouth and Dorchester. The railway station is just across the road, making it particularly good if you want to leave the car behind.

6 nights on Moreton caravan and camping site.
As always the
Not so good bits:
Disabled shower water pressure not the best ever found. Needs a tweek on the pressure please
Good bits:
Wardens excellent engagement and very helpful. Access to the site is good and is not that far from the main roads to Bournemouth - Dorchester.
Facilities although not new are well cleaned, looked after and the press button showers are forgiven by the water pressure in the main building. Crikey get ready for a serious cleaning session.
Combination of hardstandings and grass pitches. If we were going again I would ask for a hardstanding on the main ring road, the back wood pitches are very shaded up to approx 1400.
Usual facilities with information kiosk and the shop sells BBQ packs from the site which looked fab value
Extremely close to the station at Moreton, you will get used to the train horns and to be fair they did seem to stop from about 2230 onwards. We took rides into Weymouth, Bournemouth and Dorchester as well as drove into Poole.
Good market at Dorchester including Tescos and fuel as well as a Halfords etc etc
A nice place to eat out is at the Sunray pub. The carvery was wicked and even the Prince of Darkness was impressed and we all know how funny he is with his food
Tank museum was a good place to visit as is the monkey sanctuary. Try visiting the ford nearby which is on the river frome, well worth the trip
Overall:
We give this a big thumbs up for this site. The sun worshipping pair I have to live with would prefer the inner pitches but its not that big a deal
Excellent site.

Cannot speak highly enough about the wardens here, they went the extra mile to make sure we had an ehu pitch.
I had booked into the jumbo pitch, as my tent was too big for normal pitches, but wardens took it upon themselves to fit me into ehu pitch when they realised I was single parent with young children.
We booked site as we had Olympic tickets, the wardens gave us timetable for trains. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
Yes, the toilets are dated but they are very clean. We didn't use the local pub or shops. On site shop had basics at reasonable prices. We would visit again.

We have just returned from our trip this weekend. The owners were very helpful at reception and helped with the manoeuvring of the caravan on the pitch. (First class). I can say with experience! That the ground is well drained after a 2 hour downpour there was no visible signs of standing water although the ground was a bit wet. (Not boggy).
The flowers at the entrance and the well kept camping area is very pleasant.
We booked so we could travel to Weymouth for the Olympics by train. The station is 5 minutes walk but does mean train horn noise can be an issue up until 11pm but would not put me off this site. There is not much else around at close proximity, such as a local shop, but the on-site shop had all I needed. The toilet facilities are adequate, and are pretty good.
The local pub does good food, booking would be recommended.
All in all a great weekend.

Spent 5 nights here on hardstanding with EHU. A small site with usual C&CC rules. Received a good welcome, everything explained and facilities pointed out.
All wardens were helpful and friendly. Small shop sells basics and ice creams, very handy as it was hot! Facilities were spotless if a little basic (no private handbasin cubicles) Although site was very busy we never had to queue. There are 2 blocks.
Site is very popular with motorhomers. Pub/restaurant next to site very good food but not 'cheap' Main courses from £8. 95 but do bar meals as well.
The station next door makes travel to weymouth, Poole and Swanage very easy if you don't have a car. Small play area for kids. Dog walk (not tried).
Soon got used to minor train noise and it stops from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Would definitely visit again.

We came here for a weekend and it was a lovely site. The grounds were very clean and tidy.
The toilets and showers were quite dated but nice and clean and the hot water for the showers came very quickly.
It was a busy site but pretty quiet considering how busy it was. There was a small dog walk on site and for those who want to walk there are lovely walks close by and lovely cakes at Moreton Tea Rooms!
Washing up facilities under cover.
We would definitely return.

It was a last minute decision to go camping and it was a struggle to find a decent place with availability for the jubilee weekend. However Debra from Moreton park contacted me to say she had availability at a great price too, she was extremely helpful and very friendly. When we arrived everyone else camping was so welcoming and happy to help two young adults pitch their tent in pouring rain! Everyone else camping was super nice and had a campfire and cocktails the first night with singing too! It was far from overcrowded and a nice secluded location. The showers and loos are adequate and washing up facilities are fine. You do need a car if you are visiting though as there is lots to do close by but not really within walking distance. Overall lovely stay and would consider going back at any stage - absolutely loved it.

Just returned from a week at this lovely site and I am pleased to say we had a fantastic time. The manager, Paul, could not have been more helpful or patient and all done with a smile! The site itself is well laid out and the toilet facilities are spotlessly clean.
It is well placed for days out along the south coast, as well as numerous National Trust properties. I will be visiting this site again, not just at the request of my two teenage children!
As mentioned in other reviews, the site is next to a railway line and the toilet block could do with updating, but these very, very minor points did not detract from a wonderful break away at a very, very well run site.

Ok site with the usual spotless washroom facilities that you expect from c&cc.
However a few minor gripes. The trainline is right alongside and if you are by the top toilet block expect to hear very loud train whistles from 6. 30 am to 11pm.
Only 6 pitches on this site are non ehu - if that's what you want you will have a very limited choice of pitch.
We booked with another family in February requesting 2 pitches together. I also popped into the site in May and asked them to note that we wanted pitches together. I was told by the on site warden that this would not be a problem. However when we arrived they said that it was impossible to be together and it's just the luck of pitching. We also felt very hemmed in where we were as it was an overflow pitch which mad it tight for caravans to get passed us.
The wardens failed to ensure that dogs were kept on leads.
Playground was ok but looking tired. It also backed directly onto the dog area (some woodland) so that any balls that went over the fence had to be retrieved in between the dog fouling.
I'm sure that it's a lovely site if you go off season in a van but as a non ehu tent customer I really did feel squeezed out.
