Very pleased with helpful staff on arrival allowing us to change our pitch choices even though I had guestimated a rather larger tent than we had when booking - very accommodating and friendly. We were sited near enough to toilets and showers to be comfortable in the night and on pitch no 15 had the train line directly behind us. We found this not a problem at night and found we had slept through the first 6am train by the second morning. We found the toilets and showers clean and even though it was busy always managed to get a shower when needed. The washing up facilities did get busy so needed to time this just right. The water was always hot when needed.
We didn't spend too much time on site just using it as a base to travel around so wasn't surprised or disappointed with our choice.
We found bigger supermarkets were based in the main towns morrisons in Weymouth on Dorchester road and tescos in Dorchester but get directions first as we drove round for over an hour looking its well hidden. There are two small convenience shops in Moreton on main station road but we always shopped before returning to camp as it was late. The train station is directly behind the camp and good services to Poole and Weymouth if you wanted the option of not driving and parking. There is also a local bus stop opposite the road but not sure as to route or destinations as we didn't use this.
The village itself is a bit spaced out with what we thought was just one main street but then we found by accident on the last morning a lovely area near the bend in the road at the tea rooms just before garden centre was a ford and church tucked up a deadend road with footpaths and lovely walks but this you did need to drive to from the campsite as the roads are narrow and poor if any footpaths.
There was a pub next to the camp but didn't use it and many people said that it was overpriced but I cant comment on that as it depends on what area of the country your local is in and the prices they can get away with charging. I can however recommend the fish and chip cart that comes on wed and sat evenings - good value and tasty after waiting in the long queue.
We were blessed with fine weather and stayed for 5 nights at start of school holidays being able to visit Weymouth, Lulworth cove, Portland, Poole and Dorchester leaving comfortably in morning after breakfast and returning about 6/7pm to bbq or campsite van chips.

We had a lovely stay here at half term. We arrived on Sunday but were still lucky enough to have a choice of pitches. We pitched at the opposite end of the campsite to the reception area, which was nice and level but did not get the morning sun, but was sunny from about midday until maybe 7.30 pm.
Although the site was busy the facilities remained clean at all times and we found it a very peaceful site apart from the trains which did not bother us at all. Our daughters loved the children's play area and loved being able to use their scooters around the campsite. The play area had a good space for ball games as well as plenty of swings and a couple of slides as well as nets etc. The staff were very friendly.
The surrounding areas were beautiful. Our children loved Maiden Castle (just outside Dorchester), which is free - but take wellies as there are plenty of sheep and their droppings. We visited Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, Monkey World (fabulous) and the Jurassic Coast - Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove etc. We also took the train to Weymouth. We loved Weymouth because we were able to enjoy the beach without the noise of amusement arcades etc spoiling it for us. The harbour area was lovely and we saw the shellfish being pulled in.
The sea was quite chilly and we did consider buying cheap wetsuits for our children, which seemed to keep a lot of the other children in the water for longer. The coast was also quite windy so a jumper was useful. The walk down to Durdle Door is very steep and quite long for little legs. We did not make it all the way down, but far enough to enjoy the views.
On our day of departure we went to Moreton Gardens which again our children loved. It was excellent value for money (half price entry over half term), the gardens were lovely and peaceful (not at all busy and ideal for our picnic) and they had animals for the children to look at as well as a basic but empty play area. We even managed to buy a couple of reasonably-priced plants and squeeze them into the back of the car!
We have definitely left more than enough for a return visit in the not too distant future.
My only criticism of the campsite would be that there are no cubicles with wash basins in - I sometimes prefer to give myself a wash down rather than queue for the showers, but this is only minor.
The shop was basic, but fine and there is a large Tesco about 10 mins drive in Dorchester. Lots of people were barbecuing and the campsite lent bricks for disposable barbecues. They sell a barbecue pack which we did not try but our neighbours said was really good - local sausages, chops etc.
Well worth a visit!

Well we went back the last week in June and first week in July, very good weather had a great time, pitched on the next one we were in the year before up at the back behind the top block. Met some people we met the previous year, made more use of the train as we did not have our little dog.
What can I say about Paul and Sue as well as the assistants, great staff got to be the best C&CC staff we`ve stayed with, nothing was a problem. It was that great that we are going back in 2010, the trains did not bother us after a day or so we got used to them. Out of all the C&CC sites we have been on the top three are Moreton, Keswick (depending on weather), and Barnard Castle. Roll on 2010.

This was out first proper trip away in the van and was the perfect site for us. Good washing facilities, laundry, play area and mini shop. Well positioned. With a train mad six year old, the trains were a constant source of excitement although we adults grew to ignore them after a while - not imposing noise.
Site owners were helpful and knowledgeable were constantly on the go maintaining the site. They showed us to the pitch and then very kindly moved us to be closer to our friends after an hour or so, so the kids were all on one side of the road rather than running across to each other.
As we were well into the season, the pitches were pretty yellowed - ours did not have any grass at all outside as it must have been covered at some stage with a waterproof groundsheet or similar. Disposal point, water and waste facilities were excellent. Would definitely look at using this site again.

On arrival the staff were very friendly and both then and throughout our stay were very helpful.
When we were there, although busy, it was very peaceful (apart from the trains!).
Toilet and shower facilities were clean and pleasant to use. The family shower room was great with plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children (a £5 deposit is required for a key to this room).
Washing up facilities, water and waste disposal were all good.
Chip van visits on Wednesday and Saturday nights and is very nice and reasonably priced. It is popular though so expect a bit of a queue.
The local pub serves nice food, has a nice family room and beer garden with play area. The staff are lovely but the meals are quite pricey.
Shops are quite close by but reception stocks some essentials. Monkey World and the tank museum are both within very close proximity.

We stayed at this site for 9 nights at the beginning of August.
The staff were very helpful on arrival throughout our stay.
You are quite close to each unit but we expected it to be busy as it was the school holidays.
2 blocks of toilets/showers, always clean. Best thing is the family room which when you have 2 small children to shower is great.
Great area to stay in, away from the busy areas, loads to do and see.
Kids play area great, ball area for cricket, football etc.
Really nice site, usual Camping and Caravan standard, I would definitely visit again and I would recommend it to my family and friends.

Just returned from a fortnight at this site, site managers were very helpful on arrival. Toilets and showers cleaned daily. Washing area was lovely, according to the husband lol, never went there myself.
Nice and peaceful site except for the trains which you grow to love. The pub just outside the site is lovely. Nice family area at the back and the meals are nice though a little expensive. There is a local shop about a mile and half away which is open a lot. There is also a doctors surgery near the shop and post office in case you need to go. The site managers gave me directions.
We will definitely be returning back to this site next year as we didn't get done all of the things we wanted to this year. A great family site would highly recommend.

We arrived mid week, on the Wednesday and upon arrival we were greeted by two extremely friendly members of staff who assured us that all would be fine considering we were camping virgins!
We were allowed to choose which plot we wanted, which was quite pleasing as many of the pitches are on a slope, we had Plot 60 which is flat.
They even offered to help us set up.They were definitely going the extra mile to make us feel welcome.
The site itself was immaculate.
The toilets were always spotlessly clean, the showers were always warm and of a good pressure and the washing up area was more than sufficient.
The playgound for our three kids (3,7 &9) was great. Perhaps more pleasing was the fact that it felt safe enough on site to allow our two eldest to go off (on site) by themselves and with friends they had made. Something that we could or would never do at home.
Everywhere is so easily accessible ie. Weymouth, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Bournemouth, Bovington to name but just a few.
The shop is basic, but do you really need a supermarket on site. No!
The only downside is that there is a train line that runs directly behind the site. They run until late at night and start quite early, but you do get used to it.
All in all we were here for five days and although the site filled up come the weekend, we could not have picked a better site for our first venture.

Moreton is a great site for a first camping visit. For first time campers the site staff were great.
The toilet blocks were clean and the washing up facilities were a great place to chat with other campers. We have learnt some pearls of wisdom from the seasonal travellers.
For those of you who like us take your little four legged companions away with you the dog walking area is a little wooded copse but a walk out of the site can take you up the road to some lovely country lanes. Also at Lulworth Cove your dogs can run and have fun.
If you fancy a bit of pub grub pop next door. The pub has got plenty of out door sitting with some swings for the children to play on and in the pub itself a couple of pool tables.
The site is great for lots of visits to local areas of interest and Monkey World is not far if you want to take the family out. On the way to Weymouth there is a turning to a pub called The Smugglers Inn which is well worth a visit.
Go there and enjoy it because we did.

We left an overcast Berkshire and headed south to our first camping experience.
I am happy to tell you that we were so glad to find such a wonderful site to start with and the weather was glorious sunshine.
The facilities were clean and very functional, in the ladies there were 2 showers but due to having little dogs that get you up early to stretch their legs I did not have to queue to use them. The washing up facilities were hot and just what was needed.
The on site team were great in helping us pitch for the first time. They welcomed the dogs; the dog walking area is in a little wooded area but if you want to stretch their legs further take them down to Lulworth cove which has a lovely shingle beach for them to stretch and play in the water.
If you are new to camping as we are you will find the other campers very welcoming and full of words of wisdom and very funny anecdotes.
But back to Moreton to find the site was very easy; even though the site was to capacity at no time did you feel that you were packed in like sardines. There was a great pub next door with a large garden area with children's play area, and inside the pub were a couple of pool tables.
You are situated near to lots of places to visit like monkey world (as per the show on the telly), weymouth and many more just go there to see it.
