We stayed on this site for our two week holiday in a caravan.
The site is a medium sized site and had a toilet/ shower block central to the site. The pitches are tight to reasonablish size.
The site has a large field with a basic park in it but lots of space for the kids to play in safely, the site also has an indoor swimming pool which we all loved.
Many of the people who use this site do so year in year out and this allows friendships to start, grow and maintain.
The site is little too far away to walk into town but if you wanted to you could do so.
Lovely site but we did feel it was a little on the expensive side but many would argue worth it.

Lovely park with fantastic facilities. The only problem we had was the type of pitch, which turned out to be unsuitable for us to put up our driveaway awning as it was fenced. Too difficult to get the van in and out in the right position. When we stay again, we will ask for an open pitch. They were very helpful and friendly people so I'm sure it won't be a problem.
The pub and shop were well stocked and the Village Inn host was fabulous to my husband when he wanted to watch the Grand Prix. Service and food were great.
Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Lovely walks in the area and excellent for Knoll Beach.

Had a great four night stay at this really well run site. Our party consisted of two 50something couples, an 89 year old mother and a small jack russell! We were on a sloping grass pitch near a path to the shower block.
We had heavy rain and winds on one night in particular, which lead to our awning annexe collapsing! Thankfully our main awning held steady, unlike some unfortunate others!
This site is well laid out, shower blocks very clean and warm, only criticisms are that 10 seconds on the push button is not really long enough, if you continue to press water temperature becomes unbearable (no temperature control) also lights can be very dim on entry and only appear to be motion activated towards the toilets. If in shower at night it can be quite disconcerting when the lights go out! particularly as quarry tiles are very slippy!
This said, we found the site a pleasure to stay on. Well located to walk the dog, shop more than adequate, bar and restaurant reasonably priced and dog friendly, spotlessly clean and tidy. Perhaps the barman could do with a bit of cheering up and a bit of training, but perhaps he had a bad week?
Very conveniently located for Swanage itself, 1.5 miles away for the town. A quaint and old fashioned town which we found a pleasure to walk around and use the local butchers and bakers.
The Pubs in the town are good also, at least the ones we visited were, but we were only out at lunchtime? All in all, a very pleasant stay and we will definitely return.

Just spent the Jubilee Bank Holiday week at this site. Started to doubt my sat nav during the last few miles of our journey to this site in the fact that the road we took straight off of Corfe Castle was winding, hilly and at a few points single carriageway, but none the less we made it.
The site was pleasant on arrival, but found we had to double park at reception with our caravan in tow as there is no proper bays for touring arrivals (it is mainly statics here).
Staff were polite and gave us the usual pack on arrival with an 'X' marks the spot for our pitch.
Pitch size was reasonable but did lack maintenance in the fact that at the back of the pitch was covered in stinging nettles - warned my sons of the danger of being stung and guess what, I was the only one to get stung!.
Facilities were good that we used with well stocked shop, helpful reception staff and indoor heated pool. The toilets seemed to be clean throughout but never saw cleaners, only a notice informing closure at weekends between 2pm-3pm. Showers were a bit hit & miss, in some the shower head jet could be moved slightly, and in others the push button lasted between 10s up to nearly 20s (wohoo).
One of our main criticism's (and I do like dogs) it that it seemed common place for dogs to be let free while staying, even though notices were up saying always on lead. Our neighbour had a Jack Russell that would constantly growl and follow you (virtually into your own caravan). Obviously a trip to reception would have probably sorted this but everyone is on holiday, and as long as it only growled and followed part way, I could put up with that.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not venture back.

We stayed at Ulwell Cottage a few weeks ago, with a rather unusual pet (a Harris hawk) and had a brilliant time. So did our bird!
We booked with some trepidation since we weren't sure whether Skai would be a welcome visitor but we were all made very welcome and Skai turned out to be a star attraction. Also, loose dogs can be a problem for us since our bird is tethered when in camp but all dogs were required to be kept on a leash on the site.
The welcome we received on arrival was very warm and friendly and the information we were given regarding facilities etc. Was very clear and concise. We had a great spot, level and easily able to accommodate us, our bird and her travel box, plus our car and trailer.
Our only small criticism was that the shower floors were very slippery, and having to press the button for water every ten seconds was a bit of a nuisance.
But the camp is very well set out and the area itself is superb: beautiful beaches, wonderful walks around the camp and fantastic places to visit further along the Jurassic Coast. We were even lucky enough to have good weather!
Thank you everyone for helping to make our visit so memorable. We will be back!

We have just spent the bank holiday weekend here.
The site is well situated if you like to go walking, which we enjoyed albeit in changeable weather.
The site was quite busy and a lot of people were using the pool and restaurant facilities.
My only gripe is with the showers, they were very clean and warm so that wasn't a problem. The shower head is set too close to the wall and set quite low down and the water was scalding hot and couldn't be manually adjusted, the push button operating was literally 10 seconds a go which really annoyed me and the flooring is slippy once the tiles are wet.
Because of the shower problems I don't think I will be using this site again

Visited in October 2011 to make use of double inset days. Decided to come back for Xmas.
Had a great time and glad that we returned. Hills all around so brilliant location for walking/cycling. The beach is only about 1 mile away. Downhill all the way and uphill obviously all the way back. Our 8 and 10 year olds had no problem dealing with this and so don't be put off by the small distance. Swanage town centre is about 1. 5 miles away.
Reception staff couldn't be more helpful. Always cheerful and pleasant. TV reception is poor on the campsite. WiFi coverage is good.
Pitches are a nice size but the road around the site is very narrow and so can make manoeuvring a large motorhome or caravan quite difficult, especially if it has rained as you will easily get bogged down.
Toilet/showers are lovely but are initially dimly lit. Lights are on a timer and there are no sensors over the shower cubicles and so you can get stranded in the dark at quiet times. They have a beautiful double family shower in both the men's and women's.
Swimming pool is lovely but the times can be quite restrictive as it is used for classes. Would be nice if it could be open later so that you can go out for the day and return for a swim late afternoon/evening.
Area is beautiful and there is lots to see and do. Prices are steep during main season, but you are paying for the location. Very reasonable come October and this will be the time we will definitely return.

The showers here are the best I have seen, very clean and new.
The bus stop outside the site is very useful to get into Swanage but we used our cycles to ride into town.
The pitches are sloping as someone said and you need chocks.
The site is quite hilly in places but most of the pitches have been dug into the ground to make them fairly level, some are serviced pitches some are grass and the rest have just ehu on them.
The trees and bushes were being lopped as we type but the views are lovely anyway, we didn't get a view of the sea as stated by others but but didn't mind that at all.
The camping field is closed due to it being very wet and some pitches you have to drive over grass to get to a pitch which in the wet is not good as being a motorhome we wouldn’t have been able to get out.
We were booked into a pitch but asked to move and the girls in reception were very friendly but told us that most of the pitches were for caravans and awnings.
We would use this site again, we didn’t use the walks as mentioned to the beach as our dog is getting old.
The site shop and restaurant is very useful to walk to at night and is very nice having one on site.
Swanage is a delightful town with many varied shops and eating places and a theatre and also a Budgeons supermarket.

RE: Mildi
Sounds like you had a nice time staying with us, which is great. Just a point about the pub. No need for dog owners to sit outside, we allow dogs in the bar area and conservatory. Hope to see you again soon!
Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed a stay with us this year and we hope you'll be back. Keep an eye on our website as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages for 2012 prices and offers.

This was our second visit and will not be our last, great location, Nice clean well maintained site. From the corner of the site you walk out onto the Purbeck way to Corfe castle, creame tea at Corfe, steam train to Swanage and walk the dog back along the beach. The site is about 15-20 minute walk from the beach or there is a bus stop by the entrance to the site, what a day! Some pitches we found a little tight and sloping but not a huge problem. If you are lucky you can aslo get a sea view. Restaurant looked busy and others told us the food was very good but as we had the dog we didn't fancy sitting outside with the smokers. Well stocked shop on site as well.
