Just returned from a 1 night stay at Ulwell. It should have been 2 nights but we decided to leave early. After staying here in Statics before we decided this would be the prfect place for our inaugural visit with our recently acquired folding camper. The site is clean well groomed. Upon arrival to the site we were advised they had moved us one pitch over as the pitch we had was a little wet. This was fine and I would have been happy enough I our original pitch. It was pleasing that they cared enough to do this. You pay a little more than some sites for a stay but since we always use the pool I think the cost is reasonable enough. Thanks Ulwell see you again soon. Haven't used the shower facilities except those at the pool which are lovely and warm. Toilets are clean and plenty of them. I know it's low season but expect i'll review them after a summer stay next year.

Great site with excellent facilities. Stayed here 3 times under canvas and twice renting a holiday home.
Only problem I found was with the cleanliness of the toilets sometimes but this was usually down to the other users of the site, probably unaccompanied children leaving used paper in the cubicles and the mess was always cleared up at the next maintenance visit.
The free use of the pool is a great added bonus.

Booked a last minute deal for the August bank holiday weekend here. Lovely site. Caravan was 6 years old + as we knew when we booked, but was in very good condition, very clean and had a lovely view over Swanage/fields with cows in. We were very impressed with this site. It was very well maintained/run and friendly. Great swimming pool for the kids with friendly but firm lifeguards. The swimming pool has a small conservatory that you can sit in and watch your kids have fun(if they are 9 or over). There is also a playground for them to burn off steam. This has a lovely view of the Purbeck hills (which you can climb) behind it. There is a small pub there too as well as a good little shop and take-away. The pub has a cash machine in it which was very useful. The food was ok and pretty reasonable. What I liked most about this site was that it was very quiet and friendly, a far cry from the huge more commercial caravan sites in Poole etc. The site is very close to Swanage. The whole area is lovely. Great beaches (Swanage/Studland) and walks. Corfe Castle is about 4 miles away which is a great day out (use park and ride.Parking is awful in the village). Highly recommend Kimmeridge Bay for a day of cliff walks and rock pooling. We will certainly return to this little gem!

It was our first time camping, and left it a little late booking and struggled to find a site with good reviews! After hours of looking we managed to get booked here for a few days here.It was £40 a night which seemed a little excessive but in August expected to pay a bit more.
We arrived at midday and given a map of our pitch and found we had a good spot and plenty of space although we were told it wouldn't fit large tents as many sites told us, so we bought a smaller tent to accommodate. (£150 later and a grumpy husband!)
We has a great time, the kids loved the swimming pool it was handy being open till 8 so we went to beach during the day and finished off in the pool.
There was a small playing area which we didn't use a bit to 'boring' for my older girls but a great big field for ball games which was great. The on site shop was great not to badly priced, you could hire freezer blocks here which was £1.50 deposit and 40p for each one.
The only thing that didn't get a full thumbs up was the toilet/shower facilities, as not to sure what to expect we found the showers a little cold and the toilets could of done with being cleaned a little more (due to fellow campers not the cleaners fault!) But fairly adequate.
All in all we had a great time and would definitely come back here and loved Swanage.

Have just spent mixed weather weekend on this pretty site. Really pleasant, quiet & scenic position. Kids loved indoor pool with lifeguards. Bar & outdoor courtyard clean & in good order. Showers adequate but no equipment to clean before or after use provided. Good site for exploring lovely local beaches. Just a few tent pitches. Mostly statics. Would recommend to others.

This is one of our favourite sites to visit when taking our grandchildren along. Has indoor pool on site if weather turns nasty. Very busy site, in peak times a little expensive. There are 2 wonderful walks direct from the site to Studland and other direction to Corfe. Toilet blocks are ok, the on site shop is very good. Also the pub is very handy, the food is not the best pub grub for the menu price. Swanage is a wonderful little town. You are also allowed on the private part of the beach with well behaved dogs, which is a bonus at peak time. Finally if you visit Studland beach do be aware that a large part of this beach is for naturists.

We Have been to this campsite a number of times as it is well organised with clean facilities and decent sized pitches. It is a very picturesque setting right on the doorstep of the Purbecks with walks from the campsite to Corfe Castle, or just to the top of the hill for the beautiful views over Swanage bay.
We find the pub to be handy and the food acceptable and we usually eat there one evening during our stay.
There is a bus stop right outside the site although the walk into the town and beach is very pleasant but you can jump on the bus to get to sandbanks and over to Bournemouth which is a nice trip.
The onsite indoor pool tends to get very busy and we found it to be not very warm, but it's a great addition for kids as well as there being a nice outside play area.
Overall a very nice campsite with friendly and efficient staff and a great location.

Very friendly staff. Lot of statics on site but touring area has well spaced units.
Toilets clean and pleasant though showers rather chilly.
Very close to path to Corfe and only have to cross the road for the path to Studland.
About 2 mile walk on pavements into Swanage which is a pretty coastal town. Nice sandy beaches.
There is a pub on site and beer is reasonable but not cheap.
Out of season would certainly go again, but don't feel I would want to go there in the height of summer.

We have had several visits to this lovely site, always finding the facilities excellent and clean ,plenty of hot water and good well drained pitches. One time we were the last tent on site amongst caravanner's over the last open weekend of the season. A violent storm occurred overnight and the owners even told us the next morning they had driven around in the night to make sure we were OK! Now that's what I call customer service! Will return here again and again and have even camped here alone with my children - it's that nice a feel about it.

Just returned from this lovely site after a 2 night stay.
Considering we were camping at the tail end of a week of terrible weather, our pitch, although a little muddy, was in no way unusable.
The site is terraced and immaculate. The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy - they had even been cleaned up at 5am Sunday! - as I beleive some children had been left unsupervised in there. The play area is very large with good equipment, including goal posts volley ball and basketball gear. Also on site is a good sized indoor pool with changing facilities, a nice shop, take away and bar / restaurant. The food was a little pricey but very good. The staff and owner are always pleasant and helpful, with lots of tips for sightseeing. Everything was kept clean and tidy - except after the midnight badger raid - if you camp here remember to put your food and rubbish in the car - one caravan awning was raided, as were several bins - cute badger tho.
The nearest town is Swanage - lovely beaches, bakeries, boat trips etc and steam train rides. The landscape is dramatic rolling hills - loads of bird life and lots of walks.
We had such a great time we've booked our main summer holiday in a static for 2009 here.
