Arrived on site Saturday afternoon and was allocated a pitch in the front field by the road - the road is quiet and not intrusive in anyway.
There were only 3 other tents on the field so I was able to choose, although I was kindly advised about the ones that get the better sun and the ones that tend to get sodden in rain.
I was wanting EHU, there were several available on grass but most were with hardstanding. In a separate area called xmas tree field, which is probably the nicest area, there are only 2 grass EHU so booking for those is a must - they were booked for April.
The site is set in the forest although it appears a lot of the woodland surrounding the site has recently been cut down and replanted.
There are numerous footpaths direct from the site which is nice if you want a car free day.
They have full recycling facilities all of which are clearly marked, I saw the play area but did not go near as have no use for it myself, but it looked pretty comprehensive, of course there are the woods which I imagine must be a kids dream! It certainly was for my dog!
There is a well stocked shop on site which also provides take out and fresh bread ordering. I did not see a lot of the wardens/owners as I tend to keep myself to myself.
The washroom facilities for the ladies were clean and tidy, they have a separate shower block or showers in the toilet block. The separate shower block looked to be the best option as each shower came with its own dry cubicle area which is a bonus but on closer inspection, as others have said the shower heads area about 4mm away from the wall and only about 4.5 foot off the ground so very awkward to use.
The showers in the toilet block are slightly higher and further away from the wall but have no separate dry cubicle attached. There is a hairdryer in the toilet block for use which saved going back to the tent with wet hair in April!
Nearby, about 5 miles or so is the town of Cullompton which has a supermarket just on the outskirts as well as a motorway service station which has a McDonalds.
There is a pub you pass on your way to the site (the car route) which looks lovely - the Keepers Cottage I believe.
I did not go to other nearby villages so unable to comment.
I walked nearby at Culmstock Beacon - beautiful views and Ashclyst Forest - both brilliant off lead dog walking locations - both a bit of a drive but well worth a visit.
The rest of the time I walked in the woods directly from site which also included the Woodland Trust Rhododenron walk, which I imagine is a fantastic sight when in full bloom.
Overall a very smart attractive site with a mixture of statics, long term caravans and touring. I would visit again.
The only downside for me were the showers - I don't understand why you would put a shower head right against the wall??

Brilliant location be aware the advised route is essential. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. Level gravel pitch. Laundry good value.
Takeaway food was micro magic we had lasagne which we hoped would be home made but wasn't. Fabulous woodland for kids, walking and dogs. Great play area, games room ok. Pool very cold kids turned blue so only used once.
Showers unpredictable, temperature either too hot or freezing cold cubicles mouldy, old and slimy, what a shame it ruined our holiday.
Look forward to coming back when showers/toilet block are replaced.

Had a 4 night stay here beginning of April when weather was pretty chilly and wet at times.
Stayed on a full service hardstanding pitch right next to main blcok of toilets/showers/laundry etc which was very convenient. Pitch was fine and decent enough size. 10A EHU, water tap and drainage point and compacted gravel underfoot so rock pegs probably best for awning
Toilet and shower facilities are well described here and have to agree they could do with some updating although they were for the large part clean and tidy. Hot water for washing up under cover and some laundry facilities but not cheap at £3 wash load and 20p for each 5 minutes in dryer.
Good play areas for children outside and footie pitch and tennis court all fine. Games room OK but like everything all felt a bit tired and well used (which I am sure it is in fairness). Pool was smallish and not particularly clean but water warm enough
Biggest positives are the staff who are warm and friendly and helpful and the great location amongst the forest. Price was probably about right for the site and pitch we had at just over £20 night for family of 4 on full service pitch. Shop was reasonably well stocked and well priced, Tesco in Cullompton not too far away for more choice.
Also great for sky watching as low light pollution and we saw some great night skies on those clear cold nights and heard lots of varied wildlife
Would probably go back as kids enjoyed it and made friends and plenty of statics if you have non camping family/friends like us which was great

Just returned from a 5-night trip at Forest Glade, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
They served hot drinks and food, and were very keenly priced. The lady looking after the shop kindly cooked me some fish and chips when I arrived late and hungry, thank you!
My EHU pitch was located in the 'Christmas Trees' field, which was flat and well-drained, and was very peaceful and quiet.
It was the closest EHU pitch to the rally field where there was an organised meet for a small group of campers from the South West region.
The site is surrounded by woodlands and forests, which was perfect for me and my dog, and we had some nice walks in the forests.
There are playing areas for children, as well as tennis court and a football field. Also a games room, and a heated indoor swimming pool. So there are plenty to keep the younger ones occupied.
The rally field where the others were staying was massive, and very flat.
The site was well-kept. However, the ladies toilets were very close to running out of loo papers the second evening I was there. The site management must have been alerted by someone as more loo papers appeared later in the evening.
The only niggle I had was the showers. The two located in the same room as the toilets had very low water pressure, and the water was lukewarm at best when I used one of them at about 10:00.
I tried the showers in the showers only room, and the first one I used had a blocked drain! Again, the water temperature was not particularly hot, however, the water pressure was better.
The shower I used the next day at less busy time had very hot water and the temperature was not adjustable. Water pressure was adequate. With the weather being cold and wet, I was grateful for the free hot showers, even though it was too hot for the uninitiated.
Exeter City is about 20miles away, and it is worth a visit for its cathedral and some very nice shops.
Dawlish Warrens with its fine beaches is about 40min drive away, and me and the dog enjoy our walk on the beaches.
All in all, a very nice and peaceful site.

Just returned after the Easter weekend. Stayed in the rally field which was quite a long walk away from the toilet block so would recommend taking a portable loo with you. The facilities and toilets were a bit dated and did seem to smell most of the time except early morning. Went for a shower at 9. 00am and there was no hot water left :( Apparently you need to get up very early to get the hot water. The takeaway was reasonably priced you have to order before 5pm and they cook it to order, the food was good but you need to take some Tupperware to collect it in. The site was lovely and the people running the site very friendly. Would come back again.

Quiet, pleasant site. Directions provided are good, but please read them carefully - if you get to Dunkeswell Airfield (like me) then you have gone too far and need to turn around. (I blame the navigator!) The pitch itself was ok, but a bit too close together. We just had grass with electricity, which was ok for the couple of nights we were there.
The grounds themselves were very clean, although the rubbish area needed to be emptied more regularly. The shop sold basics, and the takeaway menu was good. The only downside for me was having to take your own containers for the takeaway - surely providing chip shop style containers was not asking too much! it is after all a takeaway.
Anyhow, the portions were good and very reasonably priced. Lovely dog walking areas, play area for children and football pitch / playfield. The games room wasn't up to much, and the pool looked very small. The toilet/shower block needed a 'face lift', really out of date.
The shower was merely a shower head poking out of the wall, and the water pressure was low. So having a decent shower was impossible. The hairdryer gave up after 30 seconds and refused to start again! Staff very friendly.
Overall, this is a good base for exploring Devon. We were looking at nearby sites to Exeter for weekend visits, and this is not one of them. As the old saying goes 'you get what you pay for', cheap site with cheap facilities.

We have just returned from a family gathering at Forest Glade. We camped in the 5 acre field. Our group was made up of motorhome, folding camper and 2 tents, we were 13 in all with 7 children ranging in age from 2 to 15.
We were fortunate with the weather, rain only at night and then not torrential so the field did not get muddy, but the grass was rather long.
We liked the field for our purposes as we could pitch our units how we liked and chose to pitch in a circle. The children loved everything about the site, we used the tennis court and pool and the laundry came in useful.
Our only gripe was the loos and shower block. There is only one and it is a long way from the field. We did have bikes but the little ones found it a bit far. The timed showers seem to have gone, certainly in the ladies side you now just turn the water on and off. The shower heads are much too near the wall and very low so washing hair is difficult. The water pressure is poor so you only get a dribbly shower.
This is only a minor grump as it only takes up a small portion of the day. I don't agree with the person who said they were the worst amenities they had seen in 30 years, I have seen much worse.
We were there for 5 days, end July/ beg. August and I never had to wait for a shower or to use the toilet. We would use this site again.

Lovely park situated in a forest, unfortunately they were removing part of the forest which left it very exposed. The shower blocks and toilets were not very clean and the water was not very warm to wash in.
The showers had no pressure as it was just a small shower head stuck to the wall. If you were 8mm thin and about 4 1/2ft tall it was great.
The laundry room was very basic with only one washing machine working out of two and only two tumble dryers. Only one hairdryer which was situated in the ladies toilets which was very temperamental.
The swimming pool was not heated. The shop was equiped with all the basics if you run out but many of the staff were not that friendly. Would go again once the facilities have been upgraded.
Pubs were quite a distance away, but all served lovely food and local ales.

Access to the site is pretty poor, not their fault, the roads are very narrow and the locals don't seem to know how to reverse. Do read the sites directions very carefully to avoid the 1:4 hairpin bend hill.
Well laid out and pleasantly well kept. A reasonable shop has most things including takeaways. To keep costs down you must take your own plate or bowl to collect the takeaway. Daily newspapers are available to order.
Quite a few statics and seasonals. There is a very large field which seems to attract Ralliers and a smaller field for smaller groups.
Superb dog walking through the adjacent forest. A dog's delight.
Only one thing spoilt this site for us and that was the toilet and shower blocks. Probably the worst I have seen in 30 years.
Considering the number of people on site during a Rally, four sit down toilets are totally inadequate. To make matters worse no loo brushes are provided to clear up the odd accident. I asked about this and was told they get smelly! On one occasion all four were terribly messed up. I went back and used my caravan's own.
The showers were feeble to say the least. Basically these facilities are way past their sell by date and will put me off returning. Sorry but they really need a total rebuild.

We stayed at Forest Glade for four nights and had really good weather. The site is nicely landscaped and the ground seemed well looked after. There was a touring section and another section for mainly static vans. The site is located somewhere in between Cullompton and Honiton.
Look carefully at the details for getting to the site if you are towing a caravan – one needs to approach the site from the Honiton side and not from the Cullompton/M5 side and it seems to take an age to get there from Honiton.
The site is very rural. The pitches seem quite spacious in front of the van and on some pitches caravans were pitched across the pitch, which meant that you were slightly closer to the van next door. This arrangement suited us, as the van was more adequately protected from the stray ball, as we had the awning up in front.
There were pitches, that positioned caravans ‘tail-in’ (which is perhaps what folk are more used to). We were taken to the pitch on arrival and asked to pitch toward the rear of the hard standing.
The toilet block was adequate, clean, but could probably do with a bit of a facelift. There seemed to be quite a walk to the grey water disposal point, but there were an adequate number of taps dotted around for filling up water. The swimming pool was covered, but sections of the roof could be slid open to give an outside feel. The pool itself was quite small but the changing rooms were in need of an upgrade, in my opinion.
There was a small shop on site, which could also bake croissants and other basic bakery items if you ordered them the day before. The nearest supermarket was the Tescos at Cullompton – about 20/25 minutes away by car.
The site was ideally located for those who like walking or for those interested in Gliding. There was a gliding club close by and gliders frequently circled above the site. At least one person was staying on site who went gliding daily. There were a fair number of people on site who kept their caravans here in storage and they were bought out onto a pitch when they came to stay.
The site was a bit out of the way but you never know, we may just return someday.
