We stayed on this site on a touring pitch with electric and in a static home.
The touring pitch. The toilet and shower facilities were the worst we have seen on any campsite, the toilets didn't flush and the sinks were blocked. 4 of the toilets were locked and causing a very bad smell.
The swimming pool was unusable, there was mould and moss growing through the walls, all the showers were rusty and parts missing. It said no outside shoes but there was dead flies on the floor.
The static caravan. We tried to watch a dvd on the player provided and it didn't work, when we rang to ask why, it wasn't a facility they provided. We have a 5 month old baby with us, the rooms were freezing, they didn't go above 16c. The lights in the bedroom had no fittings, was just a light bulb hanging down. The curtains didn't meet letting in light. There was also cobwebs everywhere even around the oven.
Also there was no provided bed covers, just 60's style blankets that had seen better days.
The site boasts a 4* rating, but it wasn't above a 2*. The games room had a table tennis table which was glued together, the net was torn, and the bats were home made.
The showers in the static caravan were the best part even though it did smell damp.

This is a lovely site surrounded by woods, it was very peaceful while we were staying and we could hear the owls at night. The site is well set out with hedges between every 2 rows of caravans which help it feel not too big.
The pitches are hardstanding and quite a good size. The grass is kept cut short and all is very clean. The shop sells essentials and doesn't seem over expensive.
The only problem I had was with the showers, the cubicles in the shower block are fine very roomy and kept clean, but the showers themselves were a nightmare for me, they are push button and the button only seems to stay in for about a second so I had to spend all my time trying to wash with one hand holding the button in, also as there were not too many people staying on site the water was boiling hot,(even my husband couldn't bear it) I did mention it to the staff but nothing seemed to change.
Apart from the showers we had a wonderful stay and would go again, I just hope they do something to the showers in the closed season.

What a lovely site! I have just come back from a week at this site and could easily stayed longer (with better weather). As a woman on her own with two children they were fantastic and helped me when ever I needed it. (only just started caravanning)
The site is situated about 7 miles from Honiton up in the hills. Make sure you take the correct route is towing a caravan or a campervan. One way up you wont make it as the hill is extremely steep.
The site itself is clean. It appeared the showers and toilets are cleaned in the afternoon and often we had to wait for a shower in the morning. The stop is well stocked and you can order bread, papers and evening food. I ordered some chips for one of my children and the portion was too small even for a little girl. An adventure play area for the children is a great asset.
The countryside was amazing! The area for the tents looked like it could get a little muddy so take some wellies. There is a small duck pond with over fed ducks, they didn't want our bread, I think everyone feeds them. There is also a games room which is good for the children and you need to obtain the key to the ball pit from reception.
The swimming pool is small but the children didn't seem to mind and spent most of the rainy days in it. Adults swim is from 8-9 in the morning and the pool shuts at 6.30.
I loved this site and would go back again and again.

I wasn't sure whether this would turn out to be OK for a small tent, being a holiday park, but it all worked out fine. The staff were just as welcoming and helpful as if I was staying for a week, and sorted out a suitable spot. The park has several different glades, so it doesn't seem as big as it is. The facilities are good and kept clean despite much use. There's a useful shop as it's a distance to the nearest village.
All the other campers were people with families, and it was cheerfully noisy till 10ish, but very quiet after that.
I enjoyed walking through the woods that surround the site - there are lots of footpaths.

We have just returned from a weeks break at Forest Glade, me my husband and two kids.
A beautiful, quite, site, you can hear the owls at night.
Great play area, couldn't keep the kids away. The eldest loved the swimming pool.
Well designated pitches for caravans, plenty of room for our monster 27ft caravan and awning.
Well situated for taking the kids for days out, lots to do and see in the surrounding areas.
The directions of how to get there were a little confusing though!
Will definitely be returning, thank you to the owners, very kind and helpful.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this centre.
A nice warm welcome from the owners.
We were given a map of things to do and see around the area, a really good idea I thought.
Fantastic park for the children, lots and lots of forest walks which were fantastic. Please stick to the routes though as it is very easy to get lost, we had the pleasure in spotting a deer in the woods and got a little side tracked following it! WE thoroughly enjoyed it though.
My children loved cycling around on their bikes.
They found the pool a little cold but had fun all the same.
The shop is stocked with the basics. You can order your papers or your breakfast for the following morning. They also do take away food but we never has the pleasure in trying any
As members of the Camping and Caravanning Club we did get a discount which was fantastic.
Lovely to see and hear the Gliders passing by, their site is not to far away. We hit lucky and went to see the stock car racing which was nearby at the time we all had a fantastic time.
Lots of showers and toilets always clean and tidy as was the laundry room £2.50 for a washing machine and £1.00 for the tumble dryer.
I would recommend this site to all we had a lovely time watching the squirrels and rabbits walk by every day, we will definitely return to this site.

The setting for this site is wonderful with plenty to do within easy reach. As others have commented there are plenty of good pubs a short drive away.
We were fascinated by the many gliders overhead and the 'whoosh' as they were launched from a nearby field using a winch. On one of the many walks we did we found the gliding club and they let the kids sit in the cockpit. If you're interested in gliding or want to give it a try the club are only too happy to accommodate.
As others have pointed out facilities like the toilet/shower block are good but 'tired' and in need of some modernisation. The same is true of the (small) swimming pool and the games room.
One excellent feature for children is the well-equipped play area.
We camped non-EHU in the back field, which towards the end of our stay was getting pretty muddy with the inclement weather. That said, the owners did eventually come along with a tractor pulling some kind of compacting device and smooth out the trenches that some inconsiderate motorists had made by not using the gravel road provided.
The shop provided most things you would need and the staff were friendly, albeit a little slow/reluctant to assist with sorting problems with ageing equipment in the games room.

Stayed here for a few nights. We were pleasantly surprised to have our caravan sited for us by the owners, a nice touch. Despite the directions how to get here, this camp is beautiful. The park for the children is superb, set in the forest - one drawback is trying to get the children to leave it !
The whole camp area is set in around the trees, wonderful. The camp area is quiet and there are wonderful walks through the woods - just remember what track you took as they all look the same !
One downside throughout the time we stayed there, was with two small children the swimming pool was freezing, we were glad to get out after a few minutes and get warm. The pool area could do with a revamp. On a plus side, the camp though was thoroughly clean and is a credit to the owners. Will definitely visit again, but will not be using the pool !

This wass our first visit here.
The site is about 5 mins drive from the local town or the nearest pub so really you would need a car, but the location is fantastic.
We are very impressed, very friendly welcome, excellent clean well appointed Static caravan
Shop had the basics to save a trip to the local Tesco.
The site has a small swimming pool, very good kids play ground, Tennis court, field for ball games, games room and a well stocked information room, this contained leaflets on the area plus books, board games and jigsaws to borrow during your stay a very good idea.
In general it has been well thought out so the kids have plenty to do.
The local area is beautiful with lots of trails in the forest. The site have a leaflet with the local pubs on, we tried two both were excellent the Wyndham Arms in Kentisbeare 5 mins drive the The Five Bells, Clyst Hydon, about 15 mins drive.
We stayed in a static but as we have a camper I had a good look at the other facilities for tourers and campers, the pitches are well appointed and flat with good drainage and not too close together. Some have hook ups some don't, they also have a Rally field which is just a field, but still very nice and not too far from the toilet block.
The toilets are a few years old but very clean and tidy always had soap and paper! they also have a laundry room, campers kitchen with kettle, microwave and toaster in, a very good idea.
Plenty of showers, even a mother and baby room.
The pool is small but at least it has one.
We found it an excellent base for visiting Exeter, Lyme regis, Torbay etc as whilst it is in the country side its only 5 mins drive from the motorway.
We will return later this year.
One word of advice, it has two roads to it, one is fine for caravans the other is unsuitable as its tight and steep but this is sign posted so check the route that best suits you with the site.
We gave it 10 out of 10 for everything apart from the toilets,(8 out of 10) whilst they are very clean and tidy they are old, but this is us being honest and not a bad point, as we have given some sites 10 out of 10 for this its only right to mark it down slightly.

Lot of pressure on me to find my family a nice site for the Easter break. That is to say my wife usually selects our sites and has on each of our few occasions away with the caravan ended up with superb locations and sites.
This was the first booking outside of the Caravan club and when I informed her that the site had in its title the words 'Holiday Park' she almost refused to go!
Arrived on the Saturday afternoon in the pouring rain and was helped on to the muddy pitch by a small tractor which was extremely helpful. To be honest the mud was to be expected as the weather had been appalling but we soldiered on and got the awning up and kept our two boys (6+7yrs)entertained with DVDs in the car.
Due to late arrival and the setting up plus the weather it was soon dark before we able to settle down. My wife returned from the single toilet block and stated she wanted to leave immediately. To be fair as has been repeatedly mentioned in these reviews the toilet block is dated and needs re-investment. Of course the rain and mud weren't exactly helping with ones first impressions.
After our first full day we started to get a better picture. The toilets were ok'ish (my wife is particular about such things hence her initial concerns) Have to say that my biggest gripe was that the showers had a 5 second push button on the controls. To say this was irritating is an under statement. The owner told me he couldn't trust guests to turn off showers. Fine but make them stay on longer please. 5 seconds was a timed 5 seconds and not a guess! Water nice and hot though! The toilets certainly weren't 10 out of 10 but more like 6/7. However, the weather improved and so did my wifes resolve to stay at least another day.
The children had a fantastic week with swimming twice a day which after all was why I had chosen the site and my wifes' concerns about 'holiday park' were unfounded. It is a small family run caravan site with a fair few statics and an indoor pool. The pool is dated and a litle run down and was so murky I couldn't see with goggles on more than 5 feet ahead. That said it was never crowded, reasonably warm and at about a metre and a half at its' deepest so fairly safe for our children. To sum up it definitely needs cleaning and more regular upkeep and I say this as Easter is the beginning of the season so what it would be like at the end of the summer heaven knows!
The children's play area was the best we have encountered, and overall I felt very relaxed about them playing out of sight here which is always a good indicator.
The staff very friendly, shop reasonably well stocked. Full weeks Wi-Fi for £10 was good too. The games room no more than I expected, a couple of pool tables (50p) and a table tennis table.
We played proper tennis in their courts twice £3 an hour and this was good but would advise booking up in shop well in advance during peak times.
The area was beautiful but a little remote eg: 6 miles from either Honiton or Cullompton so transport would always be required.
Would we return as a family, most definitely but only when I read there has been an update or further re-investment in the toilets and a pool update wouldn't go a miss.
Despite all I've said we had a fantastic time and the weather ended up being superb and believe it or not it took nothing to persuade my wife that we should extend our stay because the Easter sunshine was so gorgeous.
