When booking online, we thought the site was expensive; when we arrived we found out that the extra few pounds were well spent. The site is nicely grassed but with several hardstandings; we were pleased that it is ringed by trees as they took the edge off the gale which blew while we were there! The toilet and shower block is one of the best we've seen and maintained to match. We visited to attend the Flying Legends show at Duxford and the site couldn't have been better placed. We did go into Cambridge but the traffic was so awful we didn't stop - if you discount all the traffic lights! I've saved the site staff for last. They were unfailingly pleasant, friendly and SO helpful. When we found that we had to buy tickets for the air show online we realised we had no way of printing them. On hearing this, one of the ladies kindly printed them on the office printer. That's the kind of thing which makes this a mustgotoagain site!

This is a clean and tidy level site. The main field is open with shelter around the edges.
The toilet/shower block is very clean and well maintained.
The children's play area is visible from quite a lot of the site and seems in very good order. There is also a ball play area.
It is about a mile and a half to the nearest public house for food and drink.
Cambridge is easily accessed via the local bus service which runs frequently from the road passing the entrance to the site.

This site has been transformed into a completely new site. We had a great time here, the showers were one of the best we have used, they we warm, clean, perfect.
Unfortunately the weather was very cool to say the least. The site is huge, with lots of grass pitches.
If you, like me have a awning I would advise to get a pitch near to site office, if it's windy it blows, unchecked, across the field. It resulted in me, along with others having to take the awning down.
The bus stop was convenient to get to. It was about an half hour journey into Cambridge.
Cambridge itself was great, very worthwhile the trip, no good for cars, that is why there's a million cycles tied to any convenient fixture.
I can't wait to return in better weather as it was not its usual moderate weather, having watched the local weather forecasts for weeks.
I cannot find anything that was not top rate. Well worth a visit.

This was our first C&CC Club Site and we were pleasantly surprised. A lovely warm, friendly welcome and immaculately kept site and facilities. The wardens were very helpful and checked we were OK when we had a technical issue with our caravan. We didn't use the public transport as we preferred to walk into Cambridge. It's about 3 miles via the busway and along the river, which is a nice walk and took about an hour.
This was our first visit to Cambridge and it was as we were expecting. A nice city with beautiful buildings and very busy. The market had a great waffle stand which my husband highly recommends queuing for. There is also a really good fudge shop. We took the dogs in with us, and it was a little busy, but we found a few cafes/pubs that allowed them in. (Le Patissier great for veggie and food allergies, and the pub by the punting). There is a waitrose down the road and the site shop does sell some basics including eggs.
Cannot fault the site itself, even the rabbits were well behaved, although the cats catching them probably disagreed! Some of the other campers were not so friendly, preferring to ignore you rather than say good morning, but that seems to be becoming more common wherever you go nowadays.
Toilets and showers were spotless and plenty of hot water and the washing facilities were great, £3. 50 for a wash and £1 for 20mins in the tumble dryer which was quite effective unlike on some sites.
We also walked out to Gog Magog and Wendleberry which the dogs liked and looked very popular with a nature trail and picnic/bbq areas.
Childrens play area on site, but I didn't play on it, even though I was tempted! Overall a fab site which, if we were to return to Cambridge, we would definitely use again!

This is a typical camping and caravan club site. The grounds are very well maintained and the whole site managed meticulously. You will receive a warm welcome and shown to your pitch. The wash rooms etc. Are fantastic and cleaned frequently throughout the day. An ideal place for your camping and caravan clubbers with their caravans and camper vans.
Since we were under canvas we were taken to a large, flat field at the rear of the site. The field is enclosed by hedges and trees. This was fortunate as Storm Katie blew 50 mph winds over the Easter weekend! Despite the torrential rain we were able to get across the grass to our tent.
There is a P&R near by in Trumpington. £2.70 return plus £1.00 for the car. A little further on is a Waitrose store. There is also a bus stop at the entrance. This costs more and takes longer completing a lap of the hospital en route. Alternatively, walk to Grantchester and then follow the foot path down by the river. Took me about an hour to walk to town.
Loads to do in Cambridge. Audley End Hall (EH) is worth a visit too.
We stayed 4 nights, despite the weather. An ideally located, secure site which you really can't fault. It is however expensive for tents and somehow had a sterile, characterless feel.

Being new to caravaning we stayed here last year for our maiden voyage as not to far away. The managers were so helpful seeing us on to our pitch and helped make our trip go well. We returned once more before the end of the season. This is a lovely site well run and friendly will try to make it back there before the end of the season this year.

Good location, very friendly and helpful staff. A large site, would be just a bit nicer if broken up with some trees or shrubs. The amenity block was very smart and absolutely spotless. Nowhere to eat within easy walking distance but we ate a short drive away at The Green Man, Trumpington, which was very good. There's also a Waitrose supermarket and Cambridge park-and-ride nearby.

Summary: excellently maintained flat sat in a semi-urban location situated with perfect access to Cambridge and a good base for other places of interest locally. Convenient for supermarket, but eateries within local distance limited.

Visted this site twice this year - once with a 'dad and lad' trip in May and just recently with family of four.
On both occasions we were treated to a typically warm welcome. Offered a couple options of locations after a late Friday night arrival and 11:30 (slightly early) arrival on the Saturday BH morning.
The site seems to be dominated with motorhomes and caravans but was more camper friendly on the saturday. Pitches were closely mown and well drained - always welcome when met with a downpour this Bank Hol!. Fringed to the (SW?) side with a row of modern homes.
Toilets clean and tidy with private washrooms (maybe 4-6 showers?). I have never queued here but I did see a queue of four gents - early bird catches a warm and clean shower I guess).
Travel: bus stops within walking distance of site. Personally I cant fault the Trumpington Park and Ride (name added free comedy value for those with kids LOL - ). The P&R is literally a 5 min drive from the site and £1 parking per day with £2. 50 ish fare per adult. With free kiddies. Got us into Cambridge in no time.
Adjacent is a Waitrose.

Activities:
Cambridge colleges: lovely city even if you just want a mooch around the lovely architecture. Would recommend visiting some of the University Colleges. Varying pricing structure - well worth it - and well worth coming back if you don't manage seeing them all.
Punting: I reckon this is a must. Now my preferred form of travel on water - so relaxing. Recommend a chauffered trip around the 'backs' with excellent views of colleges and trip. We went with Scuadmores. Excellent Guide. When you get more confident. By all means do it yourself. Good for a laugh but I recommend a tour a first.

Didnt eat out in Cambridge. But a few decent looking places. Will try next time.
Otherwise i`m going to defer to trip advisor for other local eats as didn't try.
However we did grab a pizza from Cherry Box Pizza in cherry hinton. About 15 mins drive and parking challenging. However good pizza albeit expensive.

Well maintained, secure site suitable for all manor of camping / caravan outfits. We had a caravan pitch with awning and found it a very generous pitch with plenty of room for our car one side and space at the front of the caravan.
Toilets and shower block clean and well maintained - never seemed busy, although might be due to the number of motorhomes or caravans using their own facilities. Play area good for those aged 3 - 12yrs and a separate field for ball activities. Play area built on weatherproof surface so was accessible even after a short rain shower.
Our pitch was in the middle open section of the park opposite the play area, so good in terms of having a view of the play area for our children and of the site. However, being in the open without any boundaries separating your caravan to those people behind or in front did mean that people would quite often walk past very close to your caravan and across 'your space' towards the shower block. Would have liked to see a few small hedges defining different areas to avoid this.
Small shop available selling a few essential items and ice creams / sweets, though we tended to use the Coop or Waitrose nearby. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, especially as new to caravanning and concerned about getting on the pitch OK! Ideal for visiting Cambridge - got the bus in one day and went for a lovely riverside walk at Granchester another day. Duxford and Saffron Walden are nearby as well.
