The site is well positioned on the outskirts of Cambridge with good access from the M11. It was ideal for visiting Cambridge.
It was quiet for a site close to town with only the odd train noticeable in the distance. They weren’t intrusive even in a tent. However we were located at the site the furthest away from the line.
The site is large and open with a second overflow field. The pitches are very level and relatively large with some limited landscaping, apart from boundary hedges. The toilet block was very clean with good showers (although could do with more), washing up facilities etc.
Friendly staff even though we seemed to arrive at the same time as the majority of the site!
The site is within walking distance (near the Waitrose) to the Park & Ride and also on a bus route into Cambridge, with the bus stop being almost at the end of the drive. Bit of a convoluted ride into Cambridge. Whilst Waitrose is down the road within reasonable walking distance you will probably drive past it on the way to the site.

Excellent shower and toilet block plenty of hot water and even though the site is quite large we never had to wait for a shower etc. The pitches were generous and flat. Ideal for visiting Cambridge and surrounding area and if you like cycling it is quite flat. The only down side is that there is a lot of building and construction work going on at present and some of it was 24/7 so some nights we found it difficult to sleep and also the railway line is at the back of the site. If visiting I suggest you ask the wardens if the work is finished yet before booking.

A not particularly friendly welcome by the reception on booking in which was most unlike the Camping and Caravanning club sites I've been to previously.
Site was well kept, if basic. Essentially a big field with shower block, no dividing bushes or anything to make it particularly scenic.
Play area was closed so nothing for the kids to do, although didn't seem a site kids were taken to anyway.
Showers were clean and thankfully didn't use timed shower switches - hurrah!
Biggest downer for me was the next field had some major construction taking place and JCB's stated work at 7-30am and made a lot of noise all day. On top of that the other side a combine harvester worked 12 hours a day from 9am making a lot of noise as it did so. Obviously visitors at other times of the year wouldn't have these noises to contend with.

This was our first experience of a camping and caravan club site. We found this site to be pretty good. The owners were friendly and helpful. The pitch we had was level, with electric hook up. The toilet block was very clean and the showers were hot. The shop was small but we only needed it for bread, milk and ice lollies which was fine.
It is a quiet campsite, we just used it as a base. We would recommend a visit to Thetford forest, we had two days there and had great fun, the children loved it. Also the local wildlife park (Shepreth) was good, cost us £50.00 for a family of four though.
The only things I would give slight negative comments on was the 6metre rule which was not observed on the pitch next to us which seemed to be the 'one night only stopover' pitch for motorhomes. It didn't bother us that people were close to us but as we thought the rule was a fire safety one, we did think it should have been observed. Also the 5mph speed limit was completely ignored by most people, I'm not sure how it should be enforced but it did seem to be a problem.
All in all a good, clean campsite that does what it says on the tin.

This is a lovely campsite, we received a friendly welcome. The toilet block was spotless. The site looks to be very well maintained, and we had lots of room even on a bank holiday weekend. You can catch the number 7 bus in to cambridge from just outside the site(every 10 minutes mon-sat),we bought a day ticket for just £3 each. We will definitely be back to this site.

I stayed here with a friend in her caravan (saved me towing!) for one night. Lovely site, very well maintained and there was so much space. Caravans were very well spaced out. Facilities were excellent - toilets and showers very clean and plenty of them. There is a small play area though I didn't have my children with me at the time. It was very basic but it was visible from almost all the caravan pitches, so great in that respect.
I would definitely visit this site with my own caravan and bring the children.

This is a wonderful site. It boasts all the usual facilities that you would expect of the Camping and Caravan Club. The site itself is made of of two fields, the first being the larger of the two. They are fairly open so none ot that borders around your pitch business. One toilet block, spotlessly clean and modern - very warm too ! Whilst this site is situated near to housing, there isn't any amenities withing walking distance - so if you fancy a pint - you'll have to take the car. The main benefit of this site is that it is just around the corner from the excellant park and ride service for Cambridge, which is fantastic. Furthermore the road network by this site makes it ideal for exploreing the local countryside. We have been back twice since this visit - it is a fantastic site.

Well given the heavy rain of late there was a little standing water in places on the site, but not too bad, our front drive car managed without getting stuck. Clean toilets & showers, although closed between 1030 & noon, not ideal for that last shower before the drive home. Not much in the way of play area for the kids, just a couple of swings and a slide, but centrally located in the main field for keeping an eye on them. Nice wooded dog walk, again a little muddy given the rain. Waitrose supermarket nearby and easy access to the cambridge one way system (once in there you may never get out). Easy access from main roads and the entry road is signposted too. Friendly staff and not much of a shop but fairly priced (40p for a pint of milk) and stocks calor (perhaps other gas too)

Arrived Bank Holiday Monday in awful weather. The site was quite water logged but the wardens very helpful and helped us pick an ideal spot - not too far from the on-site facilities. Showers and Toilet block were clean but cold - no heating. There was plenty of hot water but had to queue for the showers on a morning as there were only three, but didn't have this problem if used a night. Laundry facilities where fine, had to use the tumble drier, 20p for 6 minutes, a couple of times. The park and ride was excellent into Cambridge, £4 return for 2 adults and 2 children. This site was ideal for us visiting family in the area so would use again.

We stayed 3 nights here, and were shown to our pitch which was in the second field. The field was lovely and flat, and there was loads of space for the tent, car and kitchen tent it did not feel at all crowded. Plenty of space for ball games and kite flying in this field, and there was a small play area in the first field which is nice but really small. The showers and toilets are bright and clean (no spiders), there was a queue for the showers once, and queues for the washing up facilities, but you could avoid both of those with careful timing! Plenty of hot water and they are free. The laundry facilities were also good. The campsite owners were lovely, friendly and helpful. After very heavy and continuous rainfall the first field did have some quite waterlogged areas, but the weather was exceptionally bad, the further field that we stayed in was fine. The Waitrose is very near, there is a park and ride into Cambridge near by too, and there is also a cinema and bowling complex with restaurants 15 minutes away if the weather is really too miserable to stay in a tent. Train noise is noticeable, but we didn't find it a problem - it's not so loud that it would wake you up or stop you sleeping, and you do not have to raise your voice to speak over it when it passes by. We would be happy to return here.
