Nice site convenient for Cambridge via park & ride bus service, also very close to Addenbrookes hospital if visiting.
A supermarket 5 mins by car and 2 or 3 pubs similar distance.
Was quiet at weekend (no real noise) but fairly busy.
Bit pricey but probably due to the location.
There is a lot of new homes building nearby but wasn't any noise during the weekend however our neighbours had been there all week and complained about the dust making their caravan filthy!
Very friendly welcome and helpful staff.
Would visit again.

We have been members of the Camping and Caravan Club for 11 years and camp many times from May to September each year. We never book as Camping is a spontaneous and touring activity and we tour extensively, having visited sites from John ‘O’ Groats to Lands end (Literally). We previously visited Cambridge seven years ago.
Upon arrival we were greeted with the news that one of the boilers had broken so they weren’t sure if we could stay?! The staff were very friendly and we met Tracy again which was nice. She had helped us with our tent at Oldbury Hill a couple of years ago.
Fortunately we were allowed to book in and found a sheltered flat pitch in the Rally field.
The facilities at the site are some of the best the club offers. Separate washrooms, 4 showers of which 3 are roomy. The washing up area lets the site down as there are only 3 sinks and the space is cramped if more than 3 people try to work in the area. The facilities are centrally located so easily accessed from all over the site.
The annoying thing about the site is that you have to open and close a barrier when entering and leaving. The site is pretty remote so security is not a serious problem so the barrier could be left open during the day surely!
Overall one of the better sites – we will be back!

Been here 6 times now (good location for Cambridge centre) park and ride just up the road.
Bus stop opposite site also.
CCC site as expected, all good.
The toilets and shower blocks were clean and perfectly adequate.
friendly staff and well stocked little shop on site.
Highly recommend the square and compass pub for meals
Only a mile or so up the road. (+ 10% discount if your a camper)
If you get the chance have a look in the Scott polar Arctic research Institute museum

Had read a few dodgy reviews about this site so was slightly nervous when we booking it. However, we needn't have worried. Would we recommend it and go back again. Yes.
The good stuff. Very easy to access from the motorway. Large Flat pitches. Very easy access to Cambridge (about 4 miles away I think) by bus or bike. You can either catch the bus by the site or walk about 15 mins to the park and ride (the buses are cheaper, quicker and more frequent from the p&r).
The toilets and shower blocks were clean and perfectly adequate.
Not so good. Certainly no huge issues. No clear lit paths to the shower block so you'll need a torch to avoid other peoples cables and guy ropes. It did get busy first thing and they we're closed from 11. 30 till 1pm. And yes the lady in reception should get a refund from the charm school.
But certainly no deal breakers or massive problems. Enjoyed our 2 night stay

This is an excellent site for many reasons! I would happily return here on my next visit to Cambridge.
The site is large (3 fields), open (no dividing hedges between pitches) and an well maintained (clean facilities, recently painted buildings, good signage). There is a centrally located playground for younger children which looks new and well maintained. The office holds some essential supplies, but Waitrose is just down the road so nobody needs to go hungry.
We arrived before noon and the friendly, welcoming wardens lets us pull onto the site and wait for the camper van on our allocated hardstanding pitch to leave. (They didn't go until 12:30. Why do people do that?)
No problems with the 16 Amp electrics. Our new caravan is kitted up with all the latest power happy equipment: electric hob, microwave, TV, hot water, blown air heating.
The site is very easy to find from the M11 motorway. The excellent signage on the approach road means that you couldn't miss the entrance from either direction, and I am well known in my family for doing the 'Fly-By'!
Site fees are very reasonable. I was happy to pay the £25/night for a large hardstanding pitch (16 Amp), during high season.
Any areas for improvement. The Camping and Caravan Club could consider upgrading the toilet/shower block. It was spotlessly clean, but it looks a bit dated and the lack of heating will make it uncomfortable to use for most of the year.

This site is one of the best we have stayed in.
My party had 3 tents, two were 5 man and one was a 4 man. We were given a choice of pitches and even following the necessary 6 metre distance, we were able to have them pitched in a group and not in a neat line, like some places expect.
They had wet weather the week before we arrived, but our pitches were dry. The large hedge kept any wind away, so it was well sheltered area. The weather was hot and being able to rent ice blocks for our cooler boxes was a godsend.
The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and a font of knowledge, if needed.
The location is good for getting into Cambridge, with a bus stop just past the top of the site, with buses every 20 mins.
The shop has all the bits and pieces you need and the prices are good.
There is a large Waitrose supermarket about 1/2 mile away, very handy.
The toilet block is very clean and although there are only 4 showers, there are lots of separate cubicles with sinks, so we rarely had to wait to shower. The great positive is, the showers are free, nearly everywhere else we have stopped at, you pay 20-50p.

A very large site and a long walk to the loo for some. I was near to it so OK. Warden went to some effort to find me a pitch with shade.
Very handy for Cambridge via Park and Ride which is just up the road. Avoid travelling into and out of Cambridge during the rush hour.
Took 2 hours to do 4 miles at 5pm. Best way round is by bike. Innumerable things to do and see in Cambridge. Many arts events, good punt tours.

As usual the C&C site rules about not allocating pitches before arrival meant we had a fraught time as we were camping with another family who were travelling later than us and we could not guarantee they would be next to us until they actually arrived. (always a problem to put the kids to bed and sit outside if tents are not adjacent)
Overall the site is well kept, facilities were good and clean. Kids loved the centrally located playground
Location is great, a short drive/10 minute walk from the park and ride site.
Now for the bad stuff:- One of the wardens was a bit 'officious' the rules are the rules and there is no application of common sense. Interestingly the on-site speed limit was only broken by the warden on his tractor.
The electrics kept dropping for about an hour at a time. A warden told me that their power distribution unit was too hot to touch ! he blamed people using more than their allotted 10 amps, but this should not happen if the fuses at each post worked. It was very cold and there were a lot of caravans and motor homes on the site probably using all of their 10 amps.
We lit a barbecue and were warming ourselves round it waiting for it to be ready and The warden appeared and very kindly said we could do that because of the power problems because fire pits are not allowed.!
Overall I would say given what we paid (nearly £30 per night with electrics) its a overpriced site, we have been to better sites and paid less since.

This is the third time we've stayed here (have a daughter living in Cambridge) and have always had very pleasant stay.
Spacious pitches, nice wooded dog walk, friendly staff and well stocked little shop on site.
Masses of local information available at reception and small library. Loos and showers spotless. Handy bus stop for Cambridge a few metres from site entrance.
Very helpful warden when our caravan battery was flat, he put it on charge for us for a small donation to a local charity.
Would definitely stay again.

We have just spent 3 nights over Easter at this site. Very spacious with plenty of grass pitches which we love. The shower/toilet block could do with heating but apart from that they are clean and tidy. Could also do with another chemical disposal point (we could only find one). The site wardens were fantastic during our visit very polite and very very helpful.
Excellent site for visits to the city centre (we walked) but public transport is on the doorstep. Nice walks and cycle rides are in the area too as well as a couple of pubs about a 1. 5 miles away. All in All an excellent site which we will visit again.
