Visited the site over the May B/H weekend and can say it is a lovely clean, flat site.
Toilet / shower block are spotlessly clean with enough toilets and showers.
On site staff are very friendly.
Nice play area for the children in the middle of the park that would keep them entertained for some time.
A small dog walking area.
Only 1 washing up area consisting of 3 sinks which on a site as large as this is not sufficient.
A train line is in the distance in which you can hear the trains as they pass but it does not intrude on the relaxed atmosphere of the site.
Conveniently located to visit Cambridge with good links into the town from near the site. (Ask at reception).
Overall a lovely site, well maintained and would go back for a restful weekend.

Just returned from a weekend at this site.
The staff didn't seem to keen for us to have a hardstanding which we had booked and did everything they could to talk us out of it for some reason. It may be due to the fact that there are so few of them on the site (6). The grass area's were flat and following a few showers this morning seemed well drained.
A 10-15 minute drive away takes you into Cambridge where there are excellent shopping facilities and on the outskirts some large superstores. There is a park and ride into the city centre about a 15min walk from the site or the local bus runs along the end of the road.
The facilities on site were more than adequate with a nice clean amenities block with enough showers and toilets, although if really busy there may be a bit of a queue but you would have that at most sites. A large, new, well equipped play area kept the kids happy for hours.
All in all a great site and everyone was friendly, staff and guests alike which is a change from some sites where we have previously had a slightly second rate welcome in our tent previously. We will definitely be returning and plan to use this site as a regular weekend getaway.

A friendly welcome was given. We were encouraged to book a grass pitch so we could be near friends arriving later and this was the first time we had used grass. It was well drained and despite rain and wind on the first day we did not get flooded! The pitch areas seem a bit chaotic and there were no clear roadways but for most of the week we had plenty of space.
Sadly the toilet block is out of date and lacks heating! The site did not seem good value for money compared to some of the networks more recently improved sites. Also the children were told off for playing ball near the children's play area and were guided to a tent field to play. Its a shame a site this size does not have a dedicated football field.
The roadworks on a new by pass next to the site did not disturb us but I could envisage that once the new road is open this will add to noise around the site.
Local transport is good with a bus stop near the entrance and park and ride 1 mile away - just make sure you have £2.30 for the machine per person otherwise you will have to pay £2.60 on the bus! Waitrose is the nearest supermarket. Others major supermarkets are within 4 mile radius.
Cambridge is a beautiful small city and well worth a visit. Make sure you walk along 'The backs' especially in Spring!

On arriving on site the site managers could not have been more helpful & friendly!
The site itself is split into two, the main field having EHU's. Toilet block was spotless but a bit chilly in March but plenty of hot water, washing up facilities, chemical disposal & other utilities to the rear of the block. No motor van disposal on this site so campervans & motorhomes have your bucket at the ready, we have yet to catch up with our EU cousins!
On our bikes we turned left out of the site & cycled to the best ever garden centre we have visited & then further on to to a two pub village.
Cycle right out of the site & follow the site manager instructions the back way into Cambridge
Following the river on your right hand side.
We will return!

We had a nice weekend at this campsite - we're a young couple in a motorhome, and we had a nice, friendly welcome from the staff. This was our first trip to a CCC site, we've just become members.
The facilities are OK, clean toilets & showers and a big play area for kids (not that we have any!).
The site is a bit big and flat, so it can get windy, but that's partly because of where it is - next to the fens!
It's handy for access to Cambridge - it took us about an hour to walk in, but it would be ideal for cycling. There are also frequent buses, which run until about 10 at night (but stop at about 5pm on a Sunday, for some reason).
All in all, a good site.

We're a young couple with a campervan and have just returned from a weekend at this site.
The positives. The site is really well located, very easy to get to from the motorway. We left London and were all set up with awning within 2 hours so good for an impromptu weekend away. Lots of flat land surrounding the site makes it ideal for bike rides. There's a bus stop just outside the site and it takes about 20 minutes to get into Cambridge - definitely the best way to do it as parking's meant to be a nightmare in the city. The loos are good - really clean and showers are free, hot and with no timer.
Some negatives. We didn't receive the warmest of welcomes (i think being under the age of 60 makes some people suspicious!). The shop is tiny so don't rely on being able to pick up anything on site. There's a total garage across the road but it doesn't even sell bread so make sure you stock up before arriving (or you could take a 10 minute walk to the local waitrose). The site is also pretty bare and could really do with some landscaping - it doesn't feel very private and could be made a lot more attractive.
All in all, it's fine. If you're after a stop over site or a quick weekend away it would do the trick but if you're after a pretty site with some character probably best to look elsewhere. Is also fairly expensive if you're not a member of the camping and caravanning club.

A big open site with plenty of space between pitches and a separate smaller field for tents if required.
Warmly greeted and shown to our pitch. Largish amenity block with clean toilets and showers. Decent washing-up facilities provided and washer/dryer room. Water and waste water/bins facilities located conveniently around site
Good sized playground for kids but not noisy.
Some noise from trains and from M11 but not enough to be intrusive.
A good base from which to visit Cambridge and surrounding villages. Waitrose supermarket half mile away and reasonable pub (Square & Compass) mile and half away in Gt Shelford. Bus stop for Cambridge 50 meters from camp entrance

Great situation, superb site and excellent staff. It's a large open field with a toilet block, with another field for overflow (sharing the main toilet block). There is a play area for children, the site seems to be very well drained (I've had no problems in almost 2 months, off and on), there is a basic shop, the toilet block is always clean and there is always hot water. What more can you want? Perhaps, as mentioned, more toilet block, ie. More showers/toilets would be good, but I've rarely found it to be a problem. The bus goes from outside, it's a 15 minute bike ride into town and the 2 pubs are a 30 mins walk away. I've noted that they're pretty hot on the 6m rule, so possibly it varies, according to the resident manager.
There are two dog walk/toilet areas, although the visitors don't always seem to bother using them! There is a very good washing machine & drying facility (£2 to wash a good load and £1 for 30mins drying - there's an iron too, if you use such things).
True, there are fields and train lines adjoining and they're building the new Guided Bus Terminus close by, so check as to the current noise situation, re building and agriculture.
It was my first experience of a UK CCC site and I'm very impressed. Highly recommended.

A well run friendly site.
Large flat level fields Toilet block was clean. I agree with previous comments that the number of showers is probably too small for the site (4 per sex). I showered in the afternoon so didn't experience any queuing.
The site was (I was told) full during my stay, however, there was plenty of room between pitches and didn't give that impression at all.
My 7 year old son had a great time making friends with and playing with the children in neighbouring tents. There was definitely enough space for them to run around without causing a disturbance to other campers.
At night the site was quiet. In the morning I could hear the sound of trains passing by, but this wasn't load enough to wake me or my family.
There is a Waitrose supermarket about 1/2 mile and Cambridge is a bus ride away. By car Cambridge is 5 minutes away.

The welcome was very friendly and the site well run. We enjoyed the stay and the site was reasonably quiet (even though it was absolutely packed for the bank holiday).
Downsides were the toilet block was dated in comparison with other CCC sites, although always clean, and the pitches were rather packed on the main field (not 6 metres between units here). There were queues for showers every morning (we showered in the evening), 4 showers for each sex on a site of this size doesn't seem adequate at busy times.
The park and ride is close by and very reliable. We travelled in Saturday evening with the family and were disappointed with Cambridge - I think a day of lots sunshine and lots of alcohol drinking (not us!) weren't good combos!
We can highly recommend Wicken Fen (NT, North East of Cambridge), and Duxford Air Museum. We would visit the area again, although maybe not this site.
