We stayed at this site over an extended Easter weekend.
The location is great, just off the M11 and with easy access to Cambridge and to the museum at Duxford. We visited both and the NT properties at Wimpole Hall and Anglesey Abbey.
On arrival we were made most welcome by the wardens and shown to one of the few hardstanding pitches on the site, all of which were close to the reception area. The pitch was level and sensibly sized. We were able to choose which pitch we wanted due to us arriving the day before the Bank holiday.
The rest of the site is very much open plan comprising two big fields.
The reception had a small shop which stocked the basics and was very well presented. In fact the whole site was beautifully kept which is a credit to the wardens.
The site has just one wash block which although spotlessly maintained I think is really inadequate for the size of the site at busy times. It was also freezing cold with no sign of any heating whatsoever. Given that our water froze in the pipe from the aquaroll to the caravan one night, it made showering in the block a less than pleasurable experience!
There were problems with the site power supply on three evenings out of the five we stayed, with total power outage on several occasions each night, in some cases for 20 minutes plus.
It was no fun being plunged into total darkness whilst attending to my ablutions in one of the gents toilet cubicles. At the same time two people were taking showers and they too found themselves plunged into darkness.
Given that this isn't a new site, the power supply issues were disappointing.
In the centre of the main field is a play area with climbing frame and swings and this got the thumbs up from our two. They quickly made friends with other children and seemed to enjoy themselves.
On balance I wouldn't stay again though. I am sure the power issues will get sorted, but the single wash block with no heating is not ideal given our variable English weather. But as stated earlier 10/10 for the site team for keeping the place spotlessly tidy.

Good spacious campsite, however no defined space. Child play area in the middle of the park.
Toilets were clean and tidy but could do with modernisation especially the female toilets. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly, when asked to move they were able to accommodate this so that satellite dish could work!
No service area for motorhomes so had to decant waste water.
Good location easy access to Cambridge, able to get no 7 bus to Cambridge at the main road. Waitrose is also just a mile away.
New road just opened which makes this site very easy to get to from M11

Just spent a few days at this site and I agree with most of the reviews. This is a nice site with good facilities. However I was less than impressed with the curt attitude of the elderly site worker who actually took us to our pitch.
When asked where we were going to be pitched he waved a hand in some direction like I shouldn't ask and said, 'Over there.' We followed him and were waved into a pitch somewhere in the middle.
I would have preferred a pitch on the edge but as we were only staying for a couple of nights I didn't object. He then asked if I had been to the site before. I told him that we had and he then said, 'You'll know where everything is then, enjoy your night.' He then biked off.
I was less than impressed as on the last few times that I have visited the site I have always been asked where I wanted to be put and the person showing us to our pitch didn't make you feel that you were disturbing them.
Everything else about the site is great. It is well looked after and not too far from Cambridge.
I would recommend the site to anyone.

Third time we have been to this site. Large, flat open camp site with a few hard standings. Access from M11 very good - made even easier by opening of new 'hospital' road. Amenities on site limited but toilet block was always spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. They maintain the site very well.
Leave your car behind when going into Cambridge. Parking is not easy! You can either catch the bus from a stop some 400 yards from site or take the car to the very local park and ride. We tended to do this.
Lots to do in Cambridge - museums are free (Fitzwilliam Musuem is well worth a visit) and whilst you have to pay to go into the University Botanic Gardens, they also are well worth a visit.

On arrival reception started off badly when I realised I had forgotten my membership card. I felt like a naughty school girl. That said the warden did amend my booking to give me the cheaper cost rather than the family booking I had made.
The site is spacious and never felt too crowded. We pitched opposite the play area which our 7 yr old loved. Great meeting area for children of similar ages, all disappeared at nightfall!
The shower block is basic and not heated. Clean but could do with being modernised.
Our only complaint about this site is an issue out of their control - a major road is being built along side. Works start at 0730 - 1800 ish. Not a problem if you are out for the day but fairly noisy if trying to relax outside van during day.
Good park and ride service close by. Waitrose up the road or a Sainsburys 2 miles away.
Will definitely come again.

We stayed here with 6 other families in the rally field over the Royal Wedding weekend. It was our second time at the site and it was great fun.
The kids really enjoyed the play area and all the woods to play in. We felt totally safe allowing them a bit of freedom during the day.
The toilets are clean and most of the showers are nice and powerful. The rally field is really well protected from the wind with tall trees all round - this is great!
We pretty much had the entire field to ourselves which was good, however we initially weren't allowed to play football - which wasn't good for the kids.
After a day or so the wardens relented - but restricted the ball to the ground. Strange considering there was virtually no one else in the field.
We will go back I am sure. It's easy to get to and find - and nice and close to Cambridge. The shop sells all the standard stuff and the kids loved going up to get themselves an ice cream each day. All in all - lovely site.

This is our favourite site and we have visited it on numerous occasions over the past 2 years. The site is well run by a friendly team, Peter and Lynn and Russel and Liz. On arrival you are always made to feel welcome and they always do their best to allocate pitches to suit your requirements.
The site has a spacious feel to it and even when full it does not seem overcrowded. The facilities are kept clean and the showers are better than most we have encountered. There is a very good play area for children and even though we don't take children ourselves it does keep them amused allowing others to enjoy peace and quiet if that is what you like.
The location of this site is ideal for visiting Cambridge. We take bikes and cycle into the city but there are also frequent buses from a stop just up the road or, if you prefer the park and ride is less than a mile away with easy access into Cambridge.
Not sure if we will be able to visit again this season, so thanks to all for making our visits pleasurable, hope to see you next year.=

Friendly welcome and well maintained site which, despite being fully booked, had plenty of space, but it badly needs more shower facilities. There were only 4 in the gents and almost every time my friend or I went to the loo, there was a queue for the showers. There were 7 wash basin cubicles that were hardly ever used, so maybe a change of use is called for.
Toilets were immaculate, but we wondered why they had to close and clean the ladies and gents at the same time (10.30 - 12.00), leaving only 1 disabled toilet for everybody to use.

We got home today after staying on this site for a week and we had a lovely time. The staff are friendly and the facilities are clean and well maintained. The site is large with plenty of room for kids to play and it was good to be able to let our little ones run off to play and be able to sit at our tent and watch over them.
The only downsides to our stay was the lack of laundry facilities, 1 washing machine is not enough for a site this size and one morning was spent going back and forwards trying to get access to the washing machine. It was very frustrating and the cost.I had to pay £13 extra per night because our tent was literally a meter or so over the standard size. When you've had to pay extra for the children anyway it doesn't seem fair.

This is a lovely site and very easy to find, its minutes away from Park & Ride although a bus does stop at the end of the lane.
On arrival we were greeted with lovely staff and very helpful, they gave us a good size pitch with hook up close to the park area which was great for our little one.
Toilets are the cleanest I have seen and everytime I was in there someone was mopping and refilling the toilet rolls.
There is a Waitrose down the road, probably about a mile away which was handy for all the things I forgot to pack.
We had a great weekend, lovely site and very friendly people. The only downside was the hornets which seemed to come out at dusk for about an hour, they dive bombed us so we had to sit in the awning.
