Visited this campsite with my husband and 2 kids aged 12 + 14 for 4 nights. My immediate reaction was what a well maintained site and it had a warm friendly atmosphere
the only criticism I had was the shower block which seems to be a regular complaint in previous reviews. I just did not think that there were enough showers and the cubicles could do with being a little bit bigger.
The water pressure was very poor and you even had to pay 20p for it. As a previous reviewer said they would rather pay a little extra on the pitch charge and have better quality showers.
The 9 hole golf course is a municipal course and my husband said it was a joke.
There are a lot of pluses for this site it is in an ideal location. We had a take away from the cafe, the pizza was delivered to our tent and it was delicious. We also sat in one night and the Curry and nan was also delicious.
The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The campsite has so much potential.
Flamingo land is just along the road which was ideal and it is in a central location for visiting York, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and Filey which we did.
We would definitely return as there is so much more to do in the area. The shower block would not put me off going back as they were clean but it would be nice to see some improvement in that area.

I have recently visited Pexton moor farm for 7 days stay.
We had a very enjoyable time while been on and off the site,
There is a lot within easy reach in the area and very close to Dalby Forest, which will cost 7 pounds if you want to take your car in for the day.
The facilities are basic, there is a shower and toilet block and a covered are for washing pots.
The showers seem to run out of hot water when they are just about full.
We had a great time and would like to visit the site a gain. The couple that run the site are very friendly and helpful.

This was our first time camping for a very long time, stayed 2 nights in a tent with EHU, it was a lovely well kept field with plenty of space for the kids to run about without disturbing other campers.
The toilet and shower where to the left of the field, easy access for all and spotlessly clean, a little basic but we managed fine.
The washing-up facilities where on the outside which proved a little difficult when we stayed because of the wind and rain, plenty of hot water though!
We ate out at The Black Bull 5 minutes down the road, all homemade and lots of it (delicious) and owners very welcoming and we have 3 children!
The owners of the campsite were very helpful and friendly, we are definitely going to visit again soon.

2nd time staying at upper carr and was a lovely stay again.
the only problem we have with this site is that you have to pay for showers, I would rather they put a couple of pounds on top of the night rates to save having to scrabble around for 20p pieces which with young children it's not the best if the shower runs out and you have not more money on you !,
also, they have said they have refurbed the showers, you can see some improvement but if you are more than 6' you wont be able to stand up straight.
Overall lovely site, gorgeous new tea rooms, serving food all day.
Nice little park, and good sized pitches, plenty to do in local area, inc Pickering and Helmsley etc. Visiting Eden camp down the road which was really good visitor attraction.

We stayed here whilst attending a family party at the Forest & Vale Hotel which was a mile and half away. We arrived about 9pm but as I'd rang ahead we were met by 'Bob' who handed us our arrival pack.
We had been sited within what I assume to be the tent field and Bob had to ask one person to move his car so we could enter the field and another to move his children's bikes etc.
There didn't seem to be a defined entrance to the field itself and arriving late and being put almost to the bottom end made us feel very self concious indeed.
We did not have enough room to reverse our van onto the pitch and as we do not have a motor mover, had to disconnect and push the van into place. We were lucky in that our next pitch neighbour offered to help.
We then found someone had plugged into our electric socket and so we were offered to be lent a lead extension, we have never had a problem with our lead before but no way would it have reached!
I enquired about the loo/shower block as this was the one thing that gave this site the edge over the cl site opposite. The block was not in this field but at the bottom end of the next field a good 10 mins walk away. We had paid £30 per night for a 10 min trot to the showers and hadn't even had the room to reverse our van into the pitch.
I will not recommend here

Our third visit to the park, took my mam and dad who stayed in their caravan. Very disappointed! Will not be returning. We actually left 1 day early. Large parties of friends who sat drinking all day leaving their kids to run riot. Warden very busy clean toilets/showers but did turn a blind eye to the noise. Groups of kids and parents playing football, tennis and cricket which was bouncing off the caravans, cars and tents. It was very busy so basically units where placed over the top of each other. I can stand noise on a camp site but cannot tolerate nor have patience for inconsiderate people.

Having visited over the bank holiday, whilst it was busy the park was still tranquil.
The friendly warden told us the park had recently had revamp and lots of money spent on it, and that was obvious as we spent time there.
The new coffee shop and deck is lovely and food adequate for a tea room but I was told they have plans to do more hot meals.
The showers, whilst plenty are a little small for larger people but clean and smart. A family bathroom would be welcome \ bob the warden told us that was next on the list of things to do in the coming weeks.
Flat pitches and well kept park and near to pickering and a pub and golf course near by. Small childrens amusements away from the caravans and play area. Kids loved it.
Have rebooked for later in the year and look forward to it

We stayed here on the royal wedding bank holiday weekend and arrived on the Thursday evening. The shop was closed but we quickly located our documents which were left in a docket outside the shop door.
The pitches were clean and tidy and very level, the only issue we had was that the hookup was so far away from our pitch. And after being there a few days this seemed to be a common issue throughout the site as electrical cables were strewn all over the park when it filled up.
Obviously this was a busy weekend so the site was very full, but I would imagine on a less busy weekend that this would be a very tranquil retreat.
The shower block was nothing to rave about although it was clean, the cubicles themselves are not build for people of larger proportions like myself and I found that getting undressed / dressed in any sort of privacy almost impossible. An additional insult was to be charged 20p for the privilege.
Plenty of freshwater points around the site, the waste and Elsan point was at the shower block.
The children's playground was adequate with a couple of swings, a climbing frame & a slide.
The site is well located for site seeing, with Pickering being just under 2 miles away and Flamingoland being just under 3 miles out. York and Scarborough are also within easy reach.
The park has a shop which looks sparsely stocked, but each time I went in there they had what I needed. There is also a licensed cafe which we didn't use.
Just our of the gates to the site is the local pub, which has its own caravan park behind it. The food in here is reasonable but not consistent and on one occasion we had to send our food back because it was cold. However the staff were friendly and the beer was cold albeit the selection was limited.
All in all worth the fee, we would ome back again but would be glad to see an updated shower block.

Great campsite. Camping field flat and surrounded by hedges so protected against wind.
Toilet block immaculate and great hot showers for 20p.
Site is situated on Malton to Pickering road and only a 30m stroll gets you into Pickering which is a bustling little town with plenty of shops to stock up on supplies.
Site does have a small shop but very limited supplies when we stayed. Site is ideally situated for Flamingo land only 5 mins car ride.
Black bull pub is opposite the site which is family friendly.
Overall a great site which we will return 10/10
