Ive visited this site a few times, and loved it every time.
I think the owners have changed a couple of times, but every time ive been, the owners / workers there have been very pleasant and helpful.
The site, compared to other sites ive been to, is quite pretty. There are good washing facilities, nice clean toilet and shower blocks. The showers when I went were 20p, but look to have gone up from other reviews. I don't mind paying for showers here as they have always been clean. The site does get busy, but ive not ever waited for a shower.
The site is child friendly, a park and pets corner.
There is a pub straight opposite the road from this site, which does meals if you fancy a change from cooking up yourself on site! And you could walk onto to the lovely little village of Pickering, although its a fair walk, I enjoy it.
I love going back here, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Very warm, friendly and accommodating welcome from the wardens mike and linda, who seem to be constantly working away keeping the site clean and the grounds in pristine condition from early morning through to late evening when they do there final walk around the site to make sure any rowdy campers keep the noise down.
The showers are dark and cramped and could do with being modernised.
The site is well positioned on the outskirts of pickering with a bus stop and pub within 100 mtrs.
A steam railway linking pickering to whitby stopping at various interesting locations along the very scenic yorkshire moors is a must.

We arrived at this site because the site we had booked on in Whitby had overbooked and we couldn't get on. When we explained the situation the warden couldn't have been more helpful. Although they were obviously very busy he went out of his way to organise a pitch for us and we spent four lovely days here.
The site is well kept, plenty of space between units, neat grassy area for campers and most important, toilets and washup facilities clean (spotless) The children were well catered for with a safe play area and a small area with rabbits etc.
The site is in a good area for exploring and is in easy reach of beach and moorland.
We have already started to plan our next visit.
Would like to give customer services more than a ten!

What a lovely site! We went for 3 nights at the bank holiday weekend in May.
We were camped in a small area at the back of one of the fields, so was good for privacy and peace.
The grounds and the facilities were well maintained, and despite the site being full for the bank hols, the toilets and showers were kept clean and tidy.
The wardens were friendly and helpful and could be regularly seen around the site. It was good to have a presence and gave the right impression that the site is well cared for. There is a small shop on site.
Great location. On the main road between Malton and Pickering. About six miles from Malton (where they have a good Morrisons supermarket) and just under two miles from Pickering. This area is so pretty and there are lots of great places to visit close by, eg Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, York and Helmsley. Fantastic coast and countryside!
Our only tiny grumble is that it was quite a walk from out pitch to the toilets/showers/washing up facilities at the opposite end of the site. However, this would not be a problem if you were pitched closer or if you have a caravan with your own facilities. Not a big grumble, as I said, and in fact I didn't mind the stroll.
We enjoyed our three nights so much that we have booked to go again - for five nights this time.

This was our first visit to Upper Carr Campsite and we will definitely use again. The owners were very helpful but at the same time left you to your own devices. The site was clean, tidy and all amenities where in good condition. We have two small children and it was ideal. The kids especially loved the play park and rabbits. Easy access to Pickering/Malton and Thornton Le Dale.

Just had a weekend break away and had a lovely time.
The site offers a shop with the usual basics and clean toilet block. For me the cubicles are a little on the small side and was very difficult to shower the little one! as the cubicles are so small. Never had to wait for the facilities which is always good.
Feel that the site would benefit from an additional toilet block as we were in the field and is quite a long journey in the middle of the night.
Playground is good and overall is a very friendly site. In a great location with Pickering only a 15 minute walk away.

Excellent site nice surroundings quite peaceful. We stayed 2 nights which my family enjoyed. Would camp there again. The only drawbacks were the dogs - we have 3 kids and 2 dogs were tethered up bordering the play area which kept fighting so we were too scared to let the kids play on it. We also had 2 dogs behind our tent also tethered up which kept growling at us which made us unable to relax.
Apart from the dogs it would of got 10 out of 10

On our recent holiday to Yorkshire, we were fortunate enough to choose Upper Carr Caravan Park. On site we found all facilities very clean and well maintained. Although we have no children the play area seems very nice and well maintained. The site wardens make you feel very welcome, and are very informative about the surrounding area. The Black Bull pub across the road was also very friendly. I would recommend this site to anyone who would like to come and enjoy the area.

Visited for a test run before week in Cornwall - lovely little site only stayed for the two nights but would definitely visit again.
Good showers nice little shop and good play facilities - spoilt only by the bloody geese - we did have the pitch about three metres away but come on noisy buggers
Good little pub over road got a bit busy and had to wait a while but all in all not a bad place.
Nine hole golf course over road nice pleasant man running it.
Good Site maybe a bit close to noisy busy road to score too highly

We spent 4 days here during spring bank holiday. Lovely clean site, only problem we found was the electric cables seemed to be running all over the place and toilets were in the other field which isn't great if you need to go in the night. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and the kids loved the steam train. Excellent pub across the road.
