A very convenient site for the surrounding areas. Cheshire Oaks shopping is within walking distance as is the Zoo and Chester is a short drive away or the park and ride. The pubs are also within walking distance and were very pleasant with good food and drinks.
The site is very well kept and the toilet/shower block is very clean and tidy. Although we had no children the playground looked very safe and secure and looks recently renovated.
The wardens were very cheerful and helpful.
Would definitely come back here.

To Find Site:- Leave M53 at junction 10 onto A5117, signed for Queensferry, keep in the left hand lane. (Be aware that traffic to the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Shopping Centre can back up to the M53 at weekends which causes delays) Go through traffic lights and watch for International Caravan Site sign left into Rake Lane (opposite Harvester Pub) Campsite is on left 200 metres past Rake Inn.
Cheshire Fairoaks is a handy site for exploring the many attractions in the area. There are 100 pitches, most of which are on hardstandings but there are also a few grass pitches. After heavy rain surface water seems to remain in places. The site is open all year and non-members are accepted. Electric points are convenient to pitches and connections are rated at 16amps. There are no TV connections on the bollards. There is one central toilet block which is of an older design but in perfectly good order. One disappointment, for an open all year site, is that the dishwash areas whilst having overhead shelter are otherwise open to the elements. There are four service points, although only three have a chemical emptying point which leaves some pitches a distance from the nearest point. The motorhome water/waste point is adjacent to the toilet block, it has good access but requires heavy drain covers to be lifted to empty grey waste. There is a good information room with lots of local information including local transport links. For children there is an adventure style playground. Reception sell a few essentials. There is site wide WiFi and time can be purchased online. Because of the proximity of the motorway there is often the hum of traffic noise although we did not find it that intrusive.
Please Note:- This campsite will be closed between January and July 2015 for redevelopment, please check with the Caravan Club website for up to date information.
This is one of those campsites where there is so much to do within a ten mile radius. Almost on its doorstep, about half a mile away, is the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Shopping Centre which could keep shopaholics happy for days! Three miles away is the Ellsemere Port National Waterways Museum which is an excellent day out for those interested in Industrial Archaeology. The City of Chester is about nine miles from the site and has a couple of Park and Rides. If you wish to take the bus you have two choices the number one which goes via Chester Zoo or the X8 which takes a more direct route. Details can be found in the site information room. There are three pub/restaurants within walking distance of the site, the nearest The Rake Inn is virtually next door to the campsite. OK its part of the Hungry Horse chain which won’t suit all but it offers very good value especially with children. Cheshire Oaks offers even more choice. For food shopping there is a large Sainsburys in the Cheshire Oaks complex and it also has a motorhome friendly fuel station. Be aware the Rake Lane from the site to the main road does not have a footpath so extra care is required, especially with children. Further afield Liverpool is within striking distance and in the other direction Manchester. On the canal theme the Anderton Boat Lift is not too far away at Northwich. For those not wanting to use their own transport there are regular bus services to both Chester and Liverpool from Cheshire Oaks and the site has details of local taxi companies.

Just returned from Chester Fairoaks Caravan Club Site and found it a really lovely site. We weren't struck on the location as every time you left it you had to join the motorway to reach anywhere, but in its favour you were really close to the supermarket and the three pubs within walking distance. Incidentally the 20% discount doesn't apply at the Rake Pub now as I asked and was told that its been finished a while ago. I was a bit embarrassed as I only asked after reading reviews regarding the site. So be aware.

A fantastic campsite well worth a visit. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful. The pitches are on hard standing so make sure that you have the appropriate pegs (our normal metal ones bent because the ground was so hard but they sell them in the shop). The shower block is fantastic - lots of toilets and showers and you don't have to keep pressing the button to keep the shower on and you can regulate the temperature. The reception shop sells essentials. It is a brisk 10 min walk to the outlet shopping centre and Sainsburys and the buses go regularly from there to Liverpool and Chester etc. Three pubs are in easy walking distance. The only downside is that to walk to the shops you have to go 1/4 mile down a road with no pavements.

Great site within walking distance to local buses to chester and Liverpool from the retail outlet. Great pubs within walking distance show your caravan club card and get a free starter or main course at the rake. (used to be a 20 percent discount) and also at the Old Hall Farm however this closed on 8th December for a 3 week revamp. Toilets and showers lovely warm and clean. If you like to feed wild birds this is a haven, I took my bird feeder (on pitch no ten) and it was alive with blue tits great tits goldfinch and chaffinch plus squirrels to clear up the mess. A great site in a great location ideal for the retail outlet Chester and Chester zoo. We will be going back.

Spent 2 nights at Chester Fairoaks. Site is easy to find, check in is easy, friendly staff told us to find a pitch and go back tell them what pitch we are on and they give you a fob for the barrier relating to your pitch number. The pitches are hard standing gravel with plenty of room and enough space between each pitch as not to be claustrophobic.
We found the site very quite, even though it was full, didn't hear any traffic noise, in fact we slept really well. Toilets and showers are warm and clean.
We walked to Cheshire Oaks retail park to grab some bargains. On the way back we had a pub crawl in the three pubs that are in easy walk of the site. We found 'The Rake' to be the best with a nice atmosphere, food was nice and if you show your Caravan Club card you get 20% discount on food.
If you like spicy food try the 'Inferno chicken wing challenge' I had them and it was like Man v Food, I was in pain. Go on I dare you!
Great site had a really nice relaxing weekend. We will be back again.

Great little compact site which didn't feel small due to the large pitches.
Usual CC site standard clean toilet block, good information shed, helpful wardens, etc.
Good access from motorway but this was the cause of our only complaint, road noise. Not a overbearing noise but a constant rumble in the background.
Lots of eating places and a outlet centre within walking distance.
We used the park & ride site at Chester Zoo (£2. 00 pp return) to visit Chester and drove to Sercombe ferry terminal at Wallasey (about 17 miles) which has free parking and caught the ferry over the Mersey to Liverpool (£2. 70 pp return), two great days out.
Well worth a visit.

Echo the comments on previous reviews regarding the super location of this site. We stayed 4 nights but wished we had stayed a little longer. Chester zoo was a super day out - a little pricey at almost £60 for a family but for a full days entertainment (we took pack up and there were plenty of places to eat it) couldn't complain. A previous reviewer mentioned the planes. My husband loved watching them through his binoculars! As there is a little road noise anyway I didn't even hear them. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. A fish and chip van makes a couple of regular stops and the rake inn down the road within walking distance offered 20% off for caravans members if food was ordered. There is a lovely outside area with a play area inside and out for the children. We all ate for around £20 - and no washing up. We can't wait to return to this site and see more of this super area.

We have been to this site many times over the years and it is a good site in terms of location, but in high season it is very full and does feel a little cramped. The pitches for caravans are nearly all hardstandings, but there is a separate area for tent campers which is grass.
The site is very handy for Liverpool, Chester and Manchester being just off the M53-which you can hear rumbling away in the background. Also very handy for Cheshire Oaks excellent outlet village. Top tip- don't go there at weekend if you can avoid it as it is very very busy!
Good local pubs with reasonably priced food.
The toilet block is dated, but clean and on the plus side the shower cubicles are nice and roomy! Everything kept at a high standard by the Caravan Club wardens.

Great location for this site, close to the Motorway and 10 minutes drive from the center of Chester. Which is a fascinating city to walk around no matter what the weather is doing.
Site is within an easy walk of Cheshire Oaks retail park and there is an excellent range and choice of places to eat, including a pub just down road from the site entrance.
Facilities clean and warm which was fantastic as there was a bitterly cold easterly wind and the sunshine was not having much effect on it. So you didn't get cold having just had a nice hot shower.
Every where was clean and tidy and we received a pleasant welcome and a choice of what pitches were available when we arrived, which as it was Easter was as expected a bit limited. But we were more than happy with the good sized level pitch we got as someone pulled off it
Great site and may well visit again. The one minor negative is that there is a bit of road noise from the motorway but we didn't find it a problem.
