Well what can you say about this site?
Very easy to find just of the motorway. If you look at the site maps on the c/club website it looks a pretty big site (100 units) but on arrival it seemed pretty compact. The pitches were very spacious and easy to reverse and set up in.
The site is very clean and the toilet/shower block is very good, clean and well looked after (plenty of loo's /sinks /showers) for the size of the site. Also very warm which was greatly appreciated when we came, as the temperature was below zero for a few days of our visit (down to -7). There is also a laundry room and an veg prep and washing up area just outside the toilet / shower block. A few people did not like the exposed washing up area but it did not bother us as it was under cover so you wont get wet!.
The play area is basic but enough to keep young children occupied for a while. No shop on site but there is a Sainsburys 5 minutes away.
There is loads to do in the area, Cheshire oaks outlet 5 minutes away and also just after it the Coliseum retail park, with even more shops and loads of places to eat plus a cinema and ten pin bowling alley. Another couple of minutes away is the Blue Planet Aquarium, this I thought was very expensive for what it was £43.00 for a family ticket and to be honest 2-21/2 hours and you have seen it. When we asked other people (locals) they did not give it rave reviews either. Don't get me wrong it isn't as bad as it sounds it's just that if you have been to the National Marine Aquarium this looks like a goldfish bowl. But on a plus side the under water tunnel you walk under is very impressive.
About 10 minutes drive from site and you are at Chester zoo (very good). Just outside the zoo gate is the Upton park, park and ride (bus service 32 at time of writing, you can leave the car and get the bus into Chester (buses every ten minutes)very efficient.
Chester has loads of things to do and plenty of history to discover, a very pretty and clean city when we visited. We did however visit the roman museum which seems very 'dated' (pardon the term)and needed a revamp. The cathedral is very nice and free(donations) well worth a look.
There has been mention in other reviews of traffic noise and to be honest there is a background noise from the motorway but it did not bother us that much. There is a pub (The Rake) 50yrds from site entrance not bad for a feed but would just say it's normal pub grub(like Brewers Fayre type) but very reasonable prices.
All in all a very good base camp for Chester and surrounding attractions. Not really for those who want walks in the countryside. We are booking again to come in October to do some Christmas shopping.

Brill site, been 3 times and going again easter.Toilets spotless, site the same.Plenty to do close buy and nice pub next to the entrance. The other half likes it with it being close to cheshire oaks and chester a short drive away.Even though very close to cheshire oaks you feel like your deep in the countryside after turning down the lane and coming on to the site.Peaceful.

Just home from a 8 night stay here and again, can't fault CC staff for the smiles or the way the site was kept, all top-notch. While we were there we noticed that a lot of units only stayed overnight, and we found that the site was used as a stop over for people on the way to Wales. The site is perfectly placed for Chester Zoo, (about 3 miles,) The Blue Planet Aquarium, although expensive is worth every penny, (couple of miles from site.) If you like shopping you'll love it here, a 15 minute walk away is the largest shopping mall in Europe. Although its only 15 mins walk we still took the car because the roads you have to cross are very busy. We visited the Rake for a meal and wasn't let down by the meal or the price tag, under £40 for 3 adults and a child isn't bad. Saying that, the place looked a little 'sad' and looked like it needed a cash injection. Best to use this if you have kids really. We are the type of caravanner who like to take it easy, have a pleasant walk on an evening, and listen to the wildlife around us.because of this we don't think we will be visiting again. Don't take this as a negative to the site, but it depends what your looking for, and for us, this isn't it.

Despite the non-stop rain, this is one of the nicest stop-overs we have had en-route to our main summer holiday (North Wales). We arrived late tea time, to a friendly warm welcome and found within just a five minute walk 3 pubs to choose from. We sampled two of them - first one (hungry horse) ok (just) if kid orientated. 2nd (harvester) better if you're in adult company only. We discovered a huge sainsbury's just round the corner and a fabulous designer outlet and shopping centre, all within 10 minute walking distance. What more can you ask for. The 2nd day we took one of the regular buses into Chester, which passed directly past the zoo. Cars not needed to explore this area. Perfect if you like a beer. Speaking of which, Samuel Smiths is served in a 15th century pub in the heart of Chester (the Boot Inn), and there's a fabulous WW1 themed pub (the Albion) near to the city walls. Handy for a refreshment after a 2 mile round trip around the city walls :)

We have been lucky to visit this campsite on several occasions, the last time we were there was March 2006 when it snowed. The site is excellent and well maintained. Warden friendly and very helpful. We couldn't so much that weekend as we were snowed in our caravan which was amazing, we did make a snowman though. (Maybe a little said as we are both 41) Site facilities a fantastic and sainsbury is not far away for shopping. Cheshire Oaks outlet centre is quite near as are other attractions - Blue Planet and Chester Zoo to name a couple. Chester City is about 10 mins away and well worth a visit. All in all one of the best sites I have been too.

A well kept site with immaculate, excellent facilities. Friendly wardens. Easy reach of Chester, and the local pub really is local, and very child friendly. Easy to get to the site, just off the motorway and excellent shopping is close at hand, with the outlet village and a large Sainsburys Supermarket. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed at Chester Fairoaks for a short break and found the site lovely. It is almost completely hard standing (available all year) with a few grass pitches which are only available in summer. The toilets and showers were immaculate and the dish washing and laundry facilities etc looked great too. The site was very peaceful however, you could hear some road noise from the nearby motorway which did not bother me at all but the OH seemed more bothered by it. The wardens on site are extremely helpful and very friendly. The location of this site is great. There is a pub next door which serves food and 15 minutes walk takes you to Cheshire Oaks outlet village and the Coliseum Leisure and retail park with all the big shops plus cinemas, ten pin bowling and restaurants. It is also a ten minute drive from Chester Zoo and the Park and Ride facilities to Chester City Centre. Altogether, this is an excellent site for visiting all the attractions that Chester has to offer.

Nice site, typical caravan club facilities etc. The only complaint is the road noise which seemed to droan on and on 24 hours. As we live in a quiet area it did disturb our sleep but if you're used to road noise you will be fine. The pub next door serves good food and large portions. Its not particularly busy though but the staff are friendly. Good place for visiting chester and area.

A very good site, with excellent amenities. The site is very clean and tidy. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. This site is ideally situated for any one wanting to stay near Chester. Also very close to Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet. I would definitely go there again.
