Arrived at midday, and was greeted by very pleasant receptionist she suggested we drove around the site and have a look for the best pitch which we did. All gravel hardstandings and generous too. Key fob entry and automatic exit. Toilet facilities typical of Caravan club very good. Dog walk area, Very well kept site. It is possible to hear the motorway drone nearby. Pub is 100 yards away (hungry horse chain) cheap and cheerful. In fact 3 pubs all within 1/2 mile. Cannot fault the site. However I must stress that Cheshire is not a Dog Friendly County and every pub we asked refused entry with a dog. There was only one pub which said we could take our dog in which was the Bunbury about 1, 1/2 mile away and only allowed in the snug (very small). Would visit the site again but not with our dog. Cheshire Oaks (designer outlet) is about 1/2 mile away this can put a real strain on your wallet. Chester is just a few miles away and believe there are buses to there.

Lovely site easy access - less than 5mins from motorway, friendly wardens very clean site with large (some very large) level hardstanding pitches. Shower/toilet block very clean and well heated with a free hairdryer in the ladies.
We stayed on the coldest weekend of winter so far - the wardens were out bright and early gritting around the water/waste points and un-freezing the taps!
Cheshire Oaks shopping centre and lesiure complex 2mins away in the car spoilt for choice of places to eat, cinema & bowling.
For even more shopping(it's almost christmas) we had a lovely day in Chester 10mins away and we had a great day in Liverpool 25mins away so much to do, we will be visiting this site again next year.

Have just spent time at this site and found it to be a standard Caravan Club site. The facilities are spotless but are on the verge of needing an upgrade. The down side is the road noise. The lane outside is very busy and at night motorway noise can be clearly heard. The Rake public house is part of the Hungry Horse chain. Not cordon bleu but good solid pub grub served by pleasant staff.
The site is close to the Park & Ride, Chester Oaks retail outlet and the Waterways museum, all worth a visit. Maybe not an obvious choice for a break but well worth a visit.

Without doubt its one of the nicest sites we've ever stayed in. So good in fact we went to look at buying a caravan after a stay here.
We pitched our tent for 2 nights and completely enjoyed every minute. The site is perfectly well laid out. Real thought has gone into the site and what visitors would like and it really has worked perfectly.
Shower blocks are immaculate, the site is spotlessly clean with water and bins placed perfectly so you don't have to wonder all over the place to find things.
The staff are ace! So welcoming and really have got superb people skills.
Luckily for us Fairoaks is local, about a 30 minute drive from home but we felt miles away when we stayed which is great!
This will definitely be our first choice when we pick up our first and new caravan.Cant wait

A sign in entrance told us that the site was full, we just took lots of rain (we were by motobike) so we tried nevertheless. When I asked for a pitch she wasn't very gentle but when I said I was a camping and caravanning member, she gave me a big smile.
I was pitching up the tent when someone of the site told me I must move the tent and show me where I must go : about 30 cm (12 inches) away! I still don't understand why.
The tent was under a big tree. I shouldn't have put it there. There were the most big, fat pigeons I have ever seen and they 'poo' all over the tent,. And me! Don't stay under trees.
Toilets were clean and hot showers too.
We stayed two nights and it's not the most quiet place because of the road and The Rake (Hungry Horse) pub where we eat the first evening. The Rake was really noisy with children running every where. The next evening we went to the pub on the other side of the road, The Harvester Stanney Oaks, and it was much quiet and good but a little bit more expensive too.

Visited this site with our 2 nieces and feelings very much like other visitors. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. The site is well kept with good size pitches. The play area is also good and we had a robin come visit our pitch along with the fat pigeons.
The only downside I would say is there is a bit of noise from the road, so not the most peaceful site, but it wasn't much of a problem when you weigh this up against been close to everything.
Excellent location for the attractions: Zoo, Aquarium, Cheshire Oaks outlet, etc. And plenty of eating places close by.
The Rake (Hungry Horse) pub is only ok as the food wasn't that good and it seemed like it was run by teenagers. That said, the beer garden is great with a good playground for the kids.
It is a bit dangerous walking to the pubs, etc. Outside the site, it would benefit from a pavement been built.
Would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

Brilliant site, well maintained and friendly, welcoming staff. More than enough spotlessly clean toilets and showers and even a laundry room. Recycling available for your rubbish and plenty of hot water to wash up etc. Great location, very near to 2 pubs and near to a designer outlet and the fantastic Chester Zoo. We visited the Harvester and had a great value meal. Only drawback were the signs upon entry warning you that thefts of possessions from outside caravans had taken place over night, and there is a fairly busy road very near to where the tent area is, which can be quite annoying when people are speeding up and down it. Quite noisy but overall would recommend this site and stay again if we were in the area.

Used this site for a shopping trip due to its proximity to Cheshire oaks ( 1/2 mile at most ). Spacious pitches including grassed pitches and an area set aside for tents. Dog walking area on the left as you enter the site . A small play area for children. The toilet block was in the middle and had doors on both sides of the building for easy access. Plenty of toilets and showers including a large shower area for the less abled and grab rails as well in some toilets.
One word of warning just be careful were you pitch up. We ended up under an oak tree and all weekend acorns were dropping onto the roof! The birds are friendly as well, you can here the pitter patter of feet on your roof. The wardens are friendly and the information room adjacent to the shop has everything you need to know about the surrounding area. There was a notice as you entered the side warning you of thefts however we had no problems.
Its worth mentioning that Sainsburys supermarket is right next to cheshire oaks as the site shop is small . `The rake` pub is about 100 metres away from the site with good cheap food including both indoor and outdoor play areas and a large field . Childrens theme days are on weekends at the pub as well . Chester Zoo, Blue planet aquarium and the Ellesmere boat museum as less than 10 minutes drive away . If you visit Cheshire oaks make sure you park in the marked bays or you will get booked ( there are no time limits and are free) Motorhomes can park were the coaches are.
Overhaul Its a typical caravan club site and in a great location to visit Liverpool and North wales

Excellent site overall.tip-top facilities, helpful staff, almost european feel. 'Off the beaten track' yet handy for chester zoo, cheshire oaks retail park, the coliseum leisure park, the boat museum, blue planet aquarium and of course chester city.kiddie friendly pub adjacent but for lovers of real food and real ales and superb wines the bunbury arms is a must, stoak village-turn right out of campsite, right at main road then first right. An unspoilt gem of a pub! (there is a scenic but muddy cross country route also.less than a mile as the crow flies)will certainly return to site.

Spent Spring bank holiday at this site.
We arrived slightly late due to usual M6 holiday traffic but still received a friendly welcome.
Pitches were a generous size and although full there was never a queue to use the site's well maintained toilet / shower block.
We walked into Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet - around 10 to 15 minutes - to catch a bus into Chester. Crossing the roads not really a problem. Slightly confusing bus stop arrangement and at over £8 return for 2 people you need to draw up a sightseeing schedule.
