Our 5 night stay, , Nice laid out site.

Not happy with the amenities (need a good clean) didn't like the towels (paper / hotair would have been better)

The campers kitchen had a bad smell about it. This is not a very quiet site as you are on top of each other and traffic noise

I needed a doctor, I could not find an emergency pack for numbers.

We did like the walk in the apple orchard and newent and the area has a lot to offer

This is a lovely site and we had a very enjoyable stay. The site itself is landscaped nicely and we liked the Adults only side.

As lots of other people have said, the owners are very helpful (lent us a stove as ours was broken) and friendly.

Facilities are good but there are only two showers which at busy times could result in a bit of a wait. The campers kitchen is a good addition and we made good use of the microwave.

We were a bit spoiled as due to the poor weather up until we arrived, there were only a couple of other campers (mostly people in caravans so less anxiety about disturbing people).

On the Friday, due to the good weather, the site filled up. This is where we were put off really as it became apparent how small the pitches are!

There was not even room to park our car between us and our neighbours which meant very little privacy as they were so close on either side. The tent next to ours was so close to the one next to them, they were nearly touching!

The location is brilliant- loads to do and Newent is a nice little town.

Not sure if we would go back we like a bit of space and at least be able to have a conversation without being overheard all the time. If you don't mind being overcrowded (can't see other people saying this in the reviews so maybe it was just us!), then this site is perfect as everything else was great.

Had a great weekend here as a group of 5 us in a tent(2) and 3 in a motorhome lovely place very clean and tidy facilities are very good.

About 15 mins from town centre. We went on a visit to the three choirs vineyard about 2 miles away and Gail the owner was very kind to drive us and pick us up thanks Gail

Will definitely be retuning to this site maybe in July or late August to visit westons cider which is about 8 miles away.

Getting to this campsite is very easy. Sat Navs have no problem getting here. From West Midlands

There was a large group of us - 7 male and 7 female ranging from 20-30. And most of ours first time.

The first thing I should say which makes all the difference was Gail - when we first made our enquiry to ask availability and if a large group would be welcome(especially our age group), Gail was very welcoming and made us all feel that we would have no difficulties when we got there.

Unlike other campsite owners - who either denied groups or weren't welcoming at all.

On arrival to campsite Gail showed us around the campsite. And showed us our 3 pitches between 14 of us. And then left us to it or we could go and find her if needed. We were in the Adults only section.

We only used 2 out of the 3 pitches. The campsite was quiet and everyone very welcoming especially when we were told we were setting up the 6man tent upside down!

Luckily the sun was shining despite it raining a lot all week, and the ground was still good. A few us even kicking the football around.

We didn't take advantage of the mains connections (next time).

I wouldn't say we were rowdy, but we weren't quiet either and we were able to have a good time and freedom not to worry about disturbing other campers. There was another group across from us making as much noise as us, (chilling around the fire and having a laugh). But they didn't bother us at all or vice versa.

It made us feel more comfortable that someone else were making some noise and not just us. As the others were mainly caravans with awnings.

Gail advised to keep the noise down after 10. 30, but until 12 we were still up and about, talking and laughing (not too loud) and no complaints. Which was the main thing I was worried about.

PS a couple of the guys walked it to the nearest pub to watch football. Euro2012. It took around 10 minutes.

The facilities were amazing! Toilets and showers separate male & female, and very very nice, even the most squeamish of the females had no complaints. We didn't need to use the oven, kitchen area or laundry room.

We had a BBQ running for around 6+ hours and also requested a chiminea for £6 and enough fire wood £6 for day & morning. Which was great.

We paid Gail on our way out, and she welcomed us to camp another time.

We all had a brilliant time, and I would definitely come again, as long as the weather was good as this.

No complaints and thanks Gail.

What more can we say that has not already been said…. !

Fabulous site with one field for Families and one for Adults, which is split by a lane / track which leads to the reception & facilities.

Hardly any traffic, we were camped on the edge of the adults fields nearest the road and the only cars that went past were those from the campsite and so the noise was minimal.

Really clean facilities, yes there is only 1 male and 1 female shower but you are camping and should not be rushing around anyway ! There are plenty of tables and chairs outside to sit and wait. Great kitchen area with 2 fridges, 2 freezers, 2 microwaves and washing machine (and a rotary airer outside) and a sink to wash up in. There's even a hairdryer and mirror!

Newent is about 2 miles away; a short drive or a lovely walk along the country lane, with a few pubs, supermarket and shops to browse. Also a leisure centre.

Gail, the owner is really friendly and happy to help with anything. There were no time deadlines, you could leave when you were ready to go.

A very relaxed & enjoyable weekend.

We followed the sat nav and came off the M50 as junction 2 – this takes you along some very narrow lanes and so we were advised to go back via at junction 3 and this was a much better drive.

Our first time at Pelerine started well with Gail the owner welcoming us and showing us to our pitch. I then discovered I had made a schoolboy error in assuming my tent poles were in the tent bag.

Faced with a 4-5 hour round trip to fetch the missing poles whilst family sheltered from the rain (and boy did it rain last weekend) I went to find Gail and asked if they had a tourer stored that we could rent for the weekend.

Thankfully they did, only a 5 berth for the 6 of us but it was still very appreciated and our youngest (16 months) is small enough to come in with Mum and Dad still, Cosy but comfortable. One very embarrassed Dad had just been saved :)

The site is very clean and tidy with chimineas available for free, just ask Gail if your pitch doesn't have one, and wood plus kindling available for £6 for a large tub that easily lasted for an evening.

Cue many marshmallows being eaten by the kids. We were on the family field, there is also a quieter Adults only field. The family field as to be expected has noise from playing children from Dawn to Dusk. Not a problem for us or most of the people on the family field, there were a couple of miserable wotsits who complained about the noise of the children and games being played, but that's the nature of where they were camped and they did have the option of booking the quiet Adults only field.

Our kids and the dozen or so others from other camping families, aged from 1 to mid-teens, had a great time making friends, playing football, frisbee etc etc.

Newent is about 10 minutes drive away, the camp website claims there is a pub in walking distance, there is kind of, it's about 25-30 minutes walk away, a bit too far for us with 4 small children and a mobility impaired adult. There is a well stocked Budgens supermarket on Market Square in Newent, plenty of cheap marshmallows available :)

Facilities on site are adequate for the size of the site and clean. Although the kitchen is a little small, and there is no indoor communal area.

We have 1 night here at this site this weekend. So quite and in the middle of nowhere. The site is divided into adult and family section and works well.

We camped on the adult site and it was lovely to have the chimnea's in the evening. We were able to sit round the chimnea's toasting marshmallows and enjoy the lovely surroundings.

What a beautiful site. It is kept so clean and tidy. The facilities were more than adequate and the little touches like hand cream were lovely. The family washroom is a great idea and there are plenty of books and games available to borrow.

We would certainly consider returning next year.

Just returned from another weekend at Pelerine, we found this site last year.

Fantastic site, spotlessly clean and well kept, every time I walk into the shower block, I feel I am am walking into someones bathroom. Nice touches with a selection of products and toiletries.

Well stocked campers kitchen, fridge freezer and a separate fridge and freezer, 2 microwaves, kettle, washing machine and a washing up area. Gail does a wonderful job keeping the site and facilities pristine.

Newent is a pretty town, with enough shops for basic needs. Lovely walks close to the campsite, through orchards.

I know we will return yet again.

Visited for one overnight stay with friends. Camped on adult field, mostly caravans but we were directed to a corner of the fields which we had to ourselves.

Field was level and fairly quite, as site was positioned off a small lane.

Toilet / shower / kitchen block, all nice a clean and well kitted out. Especially liked the freezer & fridge space and the microwaves in the kitchen area.

Chimenea's for each pitch were a nice touch,we took our own crackle logs but you could buy logs on site.

Short walk over fields to Newent to find pubs etc. Would definitely return if wanted to visit this area again.

We stayed at this site over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Although there is only one shower for each sex we never had to wait. Shower was lovely. Toilets & showers were always clean.

There is a family bathroom on site which we used once. The toys and books for the youngsters are a great idea to keep them occupied while they wait for you. Our son was happy reading one of the books while I showered.

One sink in wash up area didn't cause us any problems either.

The site was lovely and Gail, the owner was really friendly, showing us where the facilities were before we pitched.

Newent is a short drive, with plenty of shops for essentials. We visited the International Birds of Prey Centre, which was fantastic and Eastnor castle, again a fantastic day out.

We'll definitely be looking to return to this site in the future and will be recommending to friends.
