Just returned from Pelerine, the campsite was clean
The main entrance could do with widening,
There was only one shower in the main block and one shower in the family room
We were told the nearest pub was in walking distance which was not correct,
The views from the site was really something
Plenty to see and do,
Not much for children on site that we could see
Dog area was outside the site,
Plenty of shops but no pubs in sight.
Not sure if we will return again.

Easy to find, facilities lovely and clean, only 2 toilets and 1 shower for each sex it was a bit strained for b/hol weekend. Stayed in family area divided by hedges which had nice feel around 8 occupied seasonal pitches. The regulars friendly but quite clicky. Had a run in with pitch no.9 wanting to set a trailer tent up next to our unit for his grandkids, stood our ground 'what about the 6 mtr rule'
Free wifi signal. Chimeneas popular and free to use.
Surrounding area pretty and nearest shop in Newent a 5 min drive. Large supermarkets in Gloucester approx 10 miles away.
Overall a nice site 8/10 but don't think I would return.

It was out first time visiting this site, we read the other reviews on this site and thought we would give it a try. Phoned to book and got a warm welcome and very laid back attitude.
We arrived on the Thursday pm and was shown the site, we had the pick of where we went, no pressure to do anything (even pay).We met up with some of our family who pitched a tent next to us, (Slight slope but no problem).
Site was tidy and clean, facilities were good, apart from running out of hot water in the showers once, (told to use disabled facilities). Some bits needed a lick of paint but it was the end of the season. Site access was easy and just tucked out of the way enough to be nice and quiet.
Site split into Adult and Family fields (good idea). At dusk it was nice to see the rabbits running around. Recommend Ross on wye and Ledbury, also Eastnor Castle and its Deer Park was a delight to visit.
We will visit Pelerine again

This was our first visit to the Glos-Worcs-Hereford triangle and Pelerine is ideally situated for exploring the area. The site is perfectly described in previous reviews - it's excellent.
One small thing - there is a £1 per night charge for awnings which is not mentioned on the website tariff. I will say that the nearby town of Newent is handy for shopping with small butcher's shop, bakery, greengrocer as well as small supermarkets, but none of the pubs strike you as being particularly welcoming and the pubs we had recommended to us were a few miles distant.
We cooked most meals in the caravan in the end. Roads in the area are quiet and, within a 15 mile radius, there are enough towns and villages that a week is not enough to fully explore the area.
Don't miss - the views from Symonds Yat rock and from the top of the Malvern Hills, The Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral, lunch beside the river at the Left Bank in Hereford and the best beer in the world at the Nottingham Arms in Tewkesbury ('Doom bar'). There are several vineyards nearby and of course it's cider heaven for miles around!

Nice quiet site as described friendly welcome gail (the owner) even gave us a lift to the three choirs vineyard in the afternoon worth a visit, nice facilities and nice touch of a chimnea on every pitch will return when in the area.
Had a taxi back from vineyard into newant town 2 miles at the most £7.50 bit steep I thought so we walked back to site after having nice tapas in hotel in town walk back wasn't to bad except no footpath and it was dark,
showers, toilets and facilities clean. nice place to stop on way to vanfest

It is sad that when someone is really pleasant these days it takes you by surprise! (sorry for sounding like an old f__t!), but Gail is so really helpful, unlike some of the owners encountered on this trip, it needed to be mentioned - thanks for the bread. The site is well located, we used as a stopover heading north from Devon, with the opportunity to visit the 3 Choirs Vineyard too good to miss, it is only 2 miles away and is well worth a visit - just like being in France without having the extra 300 mile drive. The pitches are well spaced and the gardens are neat. The toilets etc are well looked after, clean and even had toiletries - shampoo, razors etc etc provided. Only stayed one night but there seemed to be plenty of walking to do in the vicinity.

Had a long weekend camping here.Gail, site owner very friendly and informal. Facilities are fantastic here. Pristine kept toilets with handwash and handcream, fresh towels. Family room is great to get young children showered. Has a selection of books, games, toys to borrow. Kitchen with microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer, hairdryer, and electric points. Woodburners available at every pitch and she sells a large basket of wood for £6. Site is heavily caravan orientated but there is large field better suited for tents. Nearby walks through apple and blackcurrant orchards, we had fun picking wild plums and blackberries on our walks. Excellent for nearby Forest of Dean. Check out Beechenhurst Lodge by the Forestry Commission for the amazing sculpture walk and other walks/cycle routes where wild boar inhabit. Cheap rates of only £18 a night. Definitely recommend and would go again.

Just returned from a fab weekend at Pelerine. Toilet and shower facilities are fantastic, toiletries supplied, and even sanitary products for the ladies.
Fantastic walks around and near the camp, chimineas which are free were brilliant. Kitchen area was well stocked, site was well maintained and spotless. This is a campsite I know we will definitely return to.

We visited the site over the May half term holiday and although the site was busy it was clean and tidy and quite peaceful. The toilets and showers are lovely and they even have real towels and there are toiletries provided as well. There is a family shower room which is very useful when you have little ones.
The markup for having a extra large tent (Outwell Vermont XL) was very reasonable. There are chimerias which are free and fire wood is £6 a big tub which did us two nights. Gail was very friendly and helpful. There is an adult only field but there is no playarea and there is not really space for ball games which is why child friendliness is marked down a bit.

Had a fantastic time. Site is spotless, toilet facilities great, they even supply toiletries such as shave foam. Lovely feature is free use of chimeneas and BBQ's.
Pitch excellent size even for our large tent. Few minutes from Newent and its shops, lakes etc. If you want a quiet retreat, this is the site for you. The owner Gail is very friendly, even takes her time to sit with you and have a coffee.
