Excellent site, extremely clean and tidy, well maintained grounds.
Staff were polite and helpful at all times and the site is easily accessible from a main road rather than some small narrow country lanes.

Just spent a lovely holiday weekend & as always cannot fault it, always a lovely warm welcome even if the weather isn't. A lovely immaculately kept site both for statics & touring. No clubhouse so no late night noise which makes for a relaxing holiday. We will be back in July, can highly recommend.

This was a last minute holiday, phoned Paddy Friday to arrive Sunday, no problem even though they were pretty busy. We stayed a couple of weeks and as usual everyone very helpful, happy, and nice to see some old faces be it staff or other campers. Good value for money especially 7 nights & pay for 5. We have been coming to this site for the last few years, sometimes at the beginning & end of season, always going away saying we'll see you next year. Lovely family site, would recommend highly.

Stayed here with my dog for a week from 1st to 8th September taking advantage of their 7 for the price of 5 nights offer. Lovely quiet site with lots of facilities for children, everywhere very clean and tidy, plenty of bins and recycling. Lovely flower beds and baskets.
Great to have a cycle path next to the site, makes a great 6 mile round trip walk through the woods, by the side of the river, to the beach, which sadly we couldn't go on because of the dog ban but we had an ice cream each, wandered round and walked back.
There are around 40 static caravans and a similar amount of pitches, all hardstanding gravel type pitches with grass next to them, all a great size.
Nicely situated about a mile and a half from St Austell, relatively close to lots of attractions, beaches etc. Swimming pool looked very inviting, sadlly being on my own with the dog I didn't go in but plenty seemed to be enjoying it.
Only a couple of minor things that I'd change if it were my site, the locks on the toilet doors were brass bolt type locks, not very child friendly if one should happen to get stuck in the loo and the showers (in the ladies anyway) could do with a bit of a rethink. The showerheads are attached to the wall quite high up and more water seemed to go into the changing area rather than in the actual shower bit, the back wall sloped forwards which meant the water ran towards the front of the cubicle, again into the changing area and it didn't drain that well and one cubicle the water flowed into the next cubicle. But minor points that didn't detract from my holiday in any way.

This was our fourth visit to this beautifully clean campsite, set in a Cornish Valley, not far (1. 5 miles) from St. Austell town centre.
Facilities include a recently (for 2016) refurbished shop with all necessary items at sensible prices. BBQ Fuel, bread, milk, local eggs, cheese, Sausages, loo rolls etc.
Superb covered indoor heated swimming pool with showers and changing rooms. Great for those (occasional!) rainy days. Adjacent to this is a nice playground with bark chipping floor and swings and a rope slide. Next to this is a grassy area, perfect for football and cricket. Whole site is flat, so good for bikes on the way to the nearby Pentewan Trail.
Would highly recommend the shower blocks, with free hot water all day every day. Special family bathroom and separate disabled unit with easy wheelchair access. Elsan point and Washblock area are sited in the same building making a superb focal point.
Each pitch has electric hook up and hardstanding and there are plenty of bench style picnic tables around to share amongst the pitches.
There was a fair mixture of tents and tourers witha few motorhomes, along with statics at the entrance. We feel this mixture is brilliant.
Water points for fresh and Grey are dotted around nicely, with enough huge bins and recycling available too.
Entry is with a barrier pass with £10 cash refundable deposit. Good for security. Near to Minor road, but no noticeable road noise.
Plenty of wildlife in vicinity, rabbits in evening and loads of lovely birds. Plenty of visitors with Dogs, we have no pets, but no-one's animals had any detriment to ourselves. There is a dedicated dog walking zone.
Overall this is a perfect site if you want a family friendly, pet and children friendly site. No clubhouse, make your own fun, we did.
The surrounding area is brilliant, please try the Polgooth Inn nearby, and fish and Chips from mevagissey Harbourside trailer-honestly wonderful.
This year, a woodfired Pizza and pancake trailer pulled up on site
Each Monday evening, very nice too!
Criticism, if any is that the season at this site is short, we would stay earlier or at Christmas.

We had an amazing week at River Valley in a static caravan. The caravan was spotlessly clean, large and included everything we needed. The site was easy to find with friendly staff. The quiet by 10pm rule was strictly abided too at the caravan end which was lovely to have piece and quiet! This is a family site and not for you if you want club houses and late night partying. The indoor pool was brilliant for the kids to burn off extra energy at the end of the day and the play area was well maintained. The launderette was invaluable and clean and no long queues for machines.
We visited the Eden Project (used Tesco vouchers so was free!) and did the Zipwire across the site which was amazing - worthwhile booking in advance to get the slot you want. We loved the lost gardens of Heligan and we visited porthpean and Caerhays beach which were great for the kids. Crabbing at Looe was very successful and we would recommend the Holmbush Inn as it was great value with huge portions.
All in all an excellent site which we would highly recommend and in a great location to visit all the area has to offer!

We hired a dog friendly caravan, having previously stayed there before several times, which speaks for itself. While on some sites a dog friendly caravan is not up to the standard of the others, this is not true here; the caravan was modern and absolutely wonderful as well as being spotlessly clean. The site is beautifully maintained, with grass cut regularly and attractive flowerbeds. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and provided a shop within the reception to cater for all basic needs. While we did not use the pool, it seemed to be good and also well looked after and there was also a good children's play area and a very good launderette. The site is well situated close to lovely beaches and the Pentewan Valley cycle path runs right next to the site. A beautiful, quiet site with every amenity you could want, ideal for those who do not need a clubhouse and all the noise that goes with it.

We have been coming here for years it is spotlessly clean, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely peaceful site with no club house & entertainment so is great for a relaxing holiday. It is in an ideal place to get about to all parts of Cornwall. The little touches of a welcoming pack is great when all you want is a cuppa after travelling. We have just booked again for this year 2017 & looking forward to it & hopefully some good weather. A lovely pool & play area for children & laundry that is handy. There isn't a shop on site as such but they have now started selling bread, veg & ice cream & other bits & bobs but there is a small shop across the road from the site entrance with a tesco & asda not too far away. Can highly recommend.
