This is a fabulous site.
This must be one of the best sites we have stayed on.
The friendliness of the wardens was exceptional.
The pitches are flat and spacious. The toilet facilities were excellent, showers were power showers with plenty of hot water.
WiFi was free.
There was a play area for the children.
You can walk to the village from the site, there are several places which serve food. The supermarket is the coop, and a very nice bakery next door.
The easy cycle path runs from the information office which used to be the railway station.
Also there is free parking behind the church.
We would definitely visit this site again,

Owned by the community, we used the site as a base whilst Mtbing in the surrounding area. Level, spacious pitches kept immaculately clean. Free WiFi, electricity included.
Powerful, hot showers controlled by a proper valve, not 'push button'.
Not especially cheap but worth it. One if the best sites we've used in the UK in over 20 years of first, tent, then campervan camping.

Had a very enjoyable couple of nights stay here. The pitch was nice and flat, the site was immaculately maintained and the greeting on arrival was very friendly. Great views and the sound of the river from the pitch was nice. The facilities really were superb and kept clean, with powerful hot showers.
Ballater village had a good range of amenities, shops and a couple of takeaways; we had a very good curry selection from Lochnagar Indian. There was really nice walking directly from the site and also a few marked trails of varying length to follow.
All-in-all an excellent site and one we’ll look forward to returning to.

Excellent site. Friendly reception on arrival and quick check in.
Site well laid out and very tidy. Toilets look new and were spotless. Lots of room in the shower cubicles and plenty of hot water at a high pressure.
Minutes to walk into the town. Second visit to site and will definitely come again.

This is one of our favourite sites! Great location within the lovely town of Ballater with everything you need.
Great pitches and you can chose your pitch location at the time of booking online, which is a great touch! Great friendly staff too! Well worth a visit!

What a brilliant site.
Excellent location for accessing town with scope to walk, cycle etc as well as going further afield to Balmoral, Braemar and Banchory. Site facilities immaculate and spacious and of a very high standard. Site well maintained. A Phoenix rising from the ashes after the horrendous floods.
Understandably it's booked up most weekends through the season so will be making a firm reservation for next Spring. Site likely to be extended next year with second toilet block which no doubt will be as good as the existing one. Good size pitches, all hard standing and tent areas. Staff very pleasant and informative.
This community venture deserves to do well. No longer any statics due to history and Insurance but serviced units all neatly kept together so feels like a proper touring park. Only very minor criticism might be the shower water pressure which is just about adequate but otherwise first rate cubicles. No privacy sink cubicle but the space put to better use by plentiful showers.
Hook ups close to units and plentiful water points with a Motorhome service area. A great place on all fronts.

Just spent another short break at this excellent site. Its in good hands being ran by the local community.
Good size hardstanding pitches with hookup and all other spotless services within easy reach.
Its a good level site and 5 minutes walking to the town.
One other thing I like about this site is that you can pick your pitch when booking. You can see the site plan with pitch numbers, it also tells you which pitches are still available to book.

Really nice little site right on the edge of the village by the river Dee. Facilities are plentiful and clean.
Also has a very popular children's play park just by the toilet block.
Ballater itself has pubs, takeaways, a restaurant and a supermarket.
A great base to explore Deeside and Balmoral Castle

Possibly influenced by wonderful weather but warm welcome, spacious pitches, immaculate facilities and proximity to town can only mean full marks. Will definitely be back.
Pleasant bike routes around area gave us opportunity to work up appetite and enjoy lovely evening bbq
