We weren't sure what to expect of this site as it was booked for us by Grantham Caravans as somewhere to stay when we collected our new caravan.
Well what can we say, beautiful setting our pitch overlooked the lake. It was clean tidy and well kept. The whole site is very well looked after and the staff are very friendly.
Shower and toilet blocks are perfectly clean and tidy.
Personally I cannot see the fascination with fishing but in these settings I could see why you might want to sit by any of the lakes all day.
Walking for the dog was nice with woodlands as well as the paths around the lakes.
The clubhouse is very pleasant and also has a dog friendly bar if required. We ate from the bar menu and the quality and service was very good.
If you want more than bar food there is also a restaurant. We chose this option this evening and the food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Yet it was very sensibly priced. Make sure you leave room for the sweet though otherwise you will be missing out.
We love Dorset but will definitely be using this site again.
One very small downside is that there is no camp shop, however it is not needed as there a well stocked shop attached to the garage opposite the main entrance.

Lovely looking site in a great location. On arrival staff were courteous and provided a site map which was useful. Pitch for van was a hard standing which was good and overlooking the lake. I did have to borrow a longer electrical hook up cable as my 10 meter one was far too short.
The site has a bar/restaurant on site open to the public and the music coming from the venue was disturbing into the night as were revellers leaving on foot and in cars. The entrance is at one end of the site and the exit the other so persons leaving do drive through the site to exit which isn't always done quietly or slowly, irrespective of the speed humps. There was a wedding at the venue on our visit and this played music very loudly and into the night, I would have liked to have known before booking that an event was going on as I could have made an informed choice whether to go there with younger children knowing music/celebrations were going on.
Toilet blocks had good hot showers but one was out of use so the busy site only had the use of one block leading to very dirty conditions and no toilet paper. On a positive note the children's play area was very good and the site itself very well maintained.
There are no shop facilities on site but there is a small good one across the road from the entrance. More of a site for keen fishers I think, or those using the venue. On departure the staff member I spoke to was rude and unhelpful, if that had been who I met when I arrived I would have demanded a refund and left.
Overall I didn't enjoy the stay and didn't feel it was value for money, I won't visit again but I would recommend the site to others with the above points mentioned as my reservations and let the individual decide.

Visited this campsite last year was very clean and tidy, the shower blocks and toilets were spotless with lots of hot water. There is a good bar on site which sells good beer and good food. There is a small play ground for the kids, and some lovely woodland walks. If fishing is your thing then this is the place for you. There is a garage and shop across the road and also a fishing tackle shop for your bait
They have some excellent fishing lakes.
this campsite is a big place and very nice and is well worth a visit.

We have stayed here before, as invited to a wedding party held here, so we thought we would go the whole hog and make a weekend of it.
We came back because it was the other half's birthday, we remembered what a good bar/Restaurant they had, along with a good site to pitch up on. We had a minor problem with some rude people, who thought they owned the place and tried to stop my young daughter from using the toilet blocks, but on my approach they shoved off. We would be happy to go back again, as we can not fault it overall, it's not perfect but dam near compared to some other sites we have been to.

Our second visit to Woodland Waters, the setting is beautiful and Woody's club is very good. Unfortunately the toilet/shower facilities leave a lot to be desired. Always hot water yes but the cleanliness is very poor. This could be a great site with a little more effort but a lot more attention to detail is needed. The pricing is about average but too expensive considering the aforementioned poorly maintained toilet block. Overall my review has to be only a very average one.

We visited this site in Aug 2012 we were totally captivated with it's location. We were given a large flat pitch with the hookup we required. We were over looking the lake, which was trull relaxing. The facilities were excellent a well
Equipped block containing toilet and showers and also a covered area for dishwashing. We did hav a little distance to walk to this though from our pitch, this was fine as the weather was particularly kind would have been more problematic if the weather was worse. Overall this is a well established site and certainly good value for money.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived giving us good direction to the pitch we were on.
The site itself was very scenic and we were pitched overlooking the fishing lake which was beautiful. The pitches were well spaced out and the on site amenities were good.
Though no on site shop there was one just across the road.
The fishing was excellent with something to suit everyone from specimen anglers to beginner.
We shall certainly be returning.

We've just returned from our one night stay at Woodland Waters
the site is very clean with a bailiff that goes round on a quad to ensure everything is as it should be, we paid £16 for the night.
The staff are very courteous, out going and their manners are impeccable.
There's plenty of little paths to walk along, and to say dogs are allowed, we didn't see any 'mess'.
Only downside for us was the two toilet blocks are situated on the electric field, none on the non-electric field.
Woody's serves lager at £3. 10 per pint-and is a decent drink.
There's a Premier shop across the road from the reception which isnt badly priced, with plenty of offers on. Be careful of crossing the road, not ideal to be crossed if you have kiddies or if you have had one to many. Traffic is rather fast.
We will be returning as we all enjoyed our time there.

We (My husband, 3 yr old son, my dad and his wife) just got back from a long weekend at Woodland waters near Grantham and had a lovely time.
The weather was very 50/50 and when it was sunny it was lovely but when it rained, it really rained, the local shop flooded as did the tent next to us, but have to say any standing water in the camping field very quickly drained away and no tents were damaged.
A few negatives, the kids play area is very basic and not suitable for children under 5. As well as being out dated it was behind the bar/restaurant which meant not being able to enjoy the facilities while watching the children or one member of the party being on their own with the kids while the others are around the other side of the building, it a pretty anti-social set up.
The bathrooms and showers were very adequate. They were not the best we had been too and they were by no means the worst, having 2 blocks per sex was nice and the newer block certainly seemed cleaner and better stocked than the older one but it was a shame it was closed on Monday because the older block had not been cleaned or replenished meaning no paper or soap since about 5pm the previous night!
The showers were ridiculously hot, I mean scolding. Children and old people could not go near them, my son had to be flannel washed all weekend, not ideal on a muddy camping field, us adults tried to shower but it was more a splashing of water near the running shower head, I only washed my hair once and it hurt
Also being near a number of very beautiful very picturesque lakes does bring its down fall, lots of geese and more particularly lots of geese poo! Not much the camp site can do about that, but just be aware of it if you have crawling children!
On the positive. The location was stunning. Very very beautiful, the owners should be commended on how lovely they have the whole site set up now and the walks around the lake watching the fish jump and the birds and all the wildlife was just so relaxing.
Although I complained about the condition and temperature of the toilets/showers I can’t fault how many there were, not once did I have to wait. The approach and the attitude of the owners was so laid back, it was lovely to be able to go to a camp site where I wasn’t filed in regimented line into a narrow pitch squashed in with countless others.
Although it’s not strictly pitch where you like, they are fine about you spreading out a bit, particularly if your in a group, if you want to make you group of pitches into one big setting that’s fine.
Also no toilet passes – I loved this, some camp sites are getting so paranoid about this now a days. There is nothing worse than traipsing across muddy fields in the middle of the night only to realise you’ve forgotten the pass. The toilets were not trashed or in anyway vandalised by not having passes, it was fine.
The bar and restaurant was fantastic, the food was gorgeous and plentiful and the beer was lovely. There is a reasonably priced bar snack menu which was more than suitable and an a la carte restaurant which is pricier but the food is lovely – there was a wedding on here so it must be pretty good if people are happy to hold the best day of their lives here
the bar was very modern and clean and a real credit to the site. There was no shop on site but there is a premier opposite the site entrance which seemed to stock everything we needed.
All in all we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the flash floods and would definitely go again.

This is our first and last visit here!
The setting is beautiful and lots of fishing !
But if you want to fish you have to be a registered pro !
The weddings unfortunately take priority!
The food is expensive rushed and just awful!
The noise from the pub is louder than I have ever heard and I mean LOUD and goes on till the early hours ALL weekend :(
Seriously it has so much potential but is severely lacking
I won't be returning or recommending this place
It would be helpful if reception staff were smiley and accommodating
Also some information regarding places of interest and local eateries would be advantageous
We have visited numerous sites in the midlands and this is a big let down
