Have just spent 2 nights at this lovely site. It was very busy but still had plenty of space. We camped in the Non-electric field, which is pitch where you like.
There are plenty of water stand pipes, the 2 toilet blocks were always clean, but did run out of loo roll.
The newer block had better showers with plenty of hot water, water pressure drops when all showers in use.
Site could be noisy as lots of family groups seem to meet up here, it did get quieter by 11. 30. There was a wedding going on but we didn't hear anything as wind was in the right direction!
It was lovely walking around all the fishing lakes and if you enjoy fishing it would be a great place to stay, you can even just visit for the day.
There is a bar and restaurant on site but we didn't use it so can't say what it is like. There is a small shop at the garage opposite site entrance.
We would go back again for weekend as its only 20 miles from home so easy to get to after work.

This campsite is situated in a beautiful area and has lots of potential, it's just such a shame that the owners hasn't realised this.
Positives - the fishing lakes are well stocked and the fish look well looked after.
- the bar menu is reasonably priced and the food is yummy!
- the play area is great!
- the site is flat so it is easy to pitch your tent up and also ground didn't have rocks so pegs went in easily.
- little village near by (Ancaster) which has a lovely butchers (best meat ever!) and also a good little shop.
- garage across the way from site has essential food.
- there are two towns near by (Grantham and Sleaford) I would visit Sleaford as its such a nicer place and has a Tesco! although Granthams okay for Asda/Sainsburys.
- Freeze ice packs for freee, although go collect them before 5pm or you wont get them until morning (and then there stil only half frozen)
- there is pool and darts in the pub which is good fun for when its raining!
Negatives
- Toilet block is miless away (not good in the night!)
- they only open the old block of toilets in the week (unless like when we went they got blocked so they had to open the new ones)
- toilets don't seem to be cleaned much (only saw it once cleaned in a week!)
- we asked to be close together (3 tents) and we were far apart!
- We too a gazebo as there are many wasps! I got stung 3 times in one week! also take bite cream.
- Bins were over flowing which didn't help the wasp situation.
- Do not buy fishing equipment from the garage as ours broke. There is a good fishing shop called daves peg in sleaford!
- Staff in reception was not helpful!
- Near a busy road so is loud at times and near train line.
Although there is a few negatives I would return again as it is in a lovely area and is great for fishing and seeing Lincolnshire! Just remember to take a gazebo (fully enclosed so wasps don't get in) and wasp bite cream

Stayed here over the weekend, so we could visit Belton House. Lovely campsite, with nice views and not too full when we visited. Showers and facilities good, helpful staff etc.
2 downsides though. The ground is covered in Goose Pooh, which makes it difficult to pitch your tent, and got on all the kids shoes etc.
There was also a wedding on each night we stayed, and we foolishly pitched next to the play area, which is next to the wedding suite. This meant there was loud music, and on the Saturday night, very loud and very drunk people, until very late at night (Past Midnight).
I'd recommend the site, but we warned about where you pitch!

Just stayed at Woodland Waters for the weekend for the first time. It looks lovely with the lakes and trees.
Dog walks are great but they have to stay on a lead.
No shop on site, garage over the road is great and stocks quite a bit, plus they even have an extra camping/fishing extra bit and hot pasties.
If you walk out of the site through main entrance and go down the path, left you can walk into Ancaster, they have a butchers and shop and pub further up the road.
Toilets was good and clean.
Downside! Very noisy. Friday night there was a disco which carried on to early morning and as you imagine in a tent this wasn't very good. This as a previous person has said got louder the later it got. Anyone is allowed to use the pub, etc off site, so they leave when entertainment has finished so these car noises are driving through site afterwards 1. 30am ish. Cars then start leaving at 4am ish I don't know what that's all about, but I suppose if you was in a caravan you wouldn't hear so much.
Saturday there was a wedding, so all those guests was at the site.
Next downside! selfish campers who don't take any notice to the keep the noise down after a certain time of night. They have their own private tent gatherings. I don't know if this goes on all the time, or it was a one off as we'd only been the once.
Midweek might have been better I guess, but we have to go at the weekend. All in all I wouldn't go again.
It would be great if the site had a breakfast service or just did bacon rolls as they have the facilities.
A great site for fishing.
Barriers are at entrance and exit, but they're up all the time. People come in the exit as no one takes any notice.
Up the road at Belton there is a really nice garden centre and cafe. Well worth a visit.

We found this site by accident, booked for one night and stayed for two but will most definitely return.
Whilst it is not the cheapest place to stay, the peace, tranquillity and beautiful outlook more than make up for it.
We did not try the restaurant, although it looked very appealing with a good menu. The shower block/toilets were clean, warm and user friendly. The washing up area was also user friendly with hot water and good size sinks.
Whilst no small children with us, the park area appeared to be appropriate for age and area away from road.
Good space between pitches and relatively level.
Thanks for a peaceful time.

This site is not far from us at all. We stay in one of the cabins in Feb 2011 - and it was perfect.
Whilst many of you were watching the Royal Wedding, we were in decathlon buying the Quechua Base Seconds 4.2. We went on our first trip out this weekend (13th May 2011), to Woodland Waters.
Fishing - Great
Toilets- Smashing (except the lights go on with movement sensors, and I was 'mid flow' when the light went out
Showers - did not use them, but they looked clean enough
Washing up - Good
Play park - okay - but a bit boring (9yr old speak), and a bit of the walkway was missing that my two say a little one could get stuck in.
Negatives -
Very few sheltered positions - wind blows through the site - take wind breaks
Sandy top layer to the soil, take strong tent pegs
Rooks - take ear plugs if you sleep lightly or have a habit of waking at 4.30 for the loo!
Was a little bit of road noise and train noise - but I think this depends upon the direction of the wind and was only noticeable because I was cold.
Good site - but personally, we were spoilt when we used the cabins! Also for this trip I allowed my husband to do the packing - so the overall experience was not as good as it might have been, and being so close - it was all too easy to give up and go home.
We may go back, as so close, but will be trying other sites in the neighbourhood first.

Spent 3 nights here at beginning of Easter school hols. Folding camper on lakeside pitch with EHU. Very quiet when we there. Lovely views and walks around lakes. Had meal in Lakeside restaurant. Nice food and reasonably priced. Toilet block was clean but a bit dated. Second block closed. Pitch still occupied when we arrived at 1:15. Office don't have signing in and out system so no way of knowing if pitch is empty. Would definitely visit again.

Just back from a wonderful stay at Woodland waters. We asked for a ehu Pitch, near to the non electric field as we like it over there because it seems more informal, quieter, and amazing views. We were given a perfect pitch with a lake view and it is really very beautiful. I heard that the site gets very busy but we were there before Easter but in the school holidays and it was busy but not in a bad way. The toilets and showers were very clean and always empty, although the showers are of the push button type and a little hot for a small child when you first push but cooled down after. Irritating but manageable. Lovely little park, far away enough to give the kids a sense of freedom but close enough to let them go on own.
Great fishing we caught a few in the small carp lake.

We booked onto the site for one night with our dog. We were allocated a pitch which was surrounded by other vans and tents when there were pitches around the edge of the field available. I felt one of these would have been a nicer option for us.
There was some good dog walking in the wooded area at the bottom of the site.
The toilets were clean and pleasant to use.
It was a Saturday night when we went and there was a wedding reception at the on site function room.

Telephoned midweek and booked a non electric hook up pitch for our tent and paid up in full. £15 a night - not a bad price. I was asked upon booking what time we expected to arrive (we were due to arrive at about 5.00 pm on the Friday) and were advised that Reception was open until 8.00 pm.
We arrived about 5.30 pm and 'checked in' with the very helpful reception staff who provided a map of the site and the lakes and directed us to the non electric hook up field. I asked if the pitches were numbered and was advised that it was a case of pitch more or less where you like.
When we got to the non electric field and managed to get a beautiful spot overlooking the large carp lake. What a view. After we had set up home we took a walk to Woody's Bar (via the Children's playground - we have a 9 year old and a 3 year old so they loved this)(also via a couple of fishing ponds to 'suss them out for tomorrow'. Had a couple of lovely pints of lager at Woody's overlooking the lake.
Now for the nitty gritty. The toilet facilities were always immaculate and there was always toilet rolls. A mop and bucket are located just inside the doorway so on wet days (not that we had any this year) the floor can be kept clean by campers until the cleaners arrive.
Every time I had a shower, one was available to use - the only downside was that they could do with a shower mat inside, or something similar - bit tricky with a three year old telling them to stand still on a slippy floor. The water pressure was a bit hit and miss too. When all four showers were running the water pressure dropped quite considerably but when the pressure was right the shower was fine and hot. Again the showers were very clean.
There is one token operated hairdryer (tokens available from reception)- could probably do with another one. Could also do with a full length mirror in the toilet / shower area.
The site is very clean and appears to be well looked after. The fishing I am reliably informed by my husband and son is excellent - they even got up at 4.00am on the first morning to go and catch some carp.
A very relaxing site with lots of walks and fishing available. There is a laundry available (also token operated - again token and keys available from reception). The site is open to members of the public for fishing / walking picnics / so there are people other than campers on site. There was even a wedding party at Woody's in the function room - I should imagine its quite noisy if you are pitched close to the function room but it wasn't a problem were we were pitched so we were OK.
There is no shop on site but there is a garage across the main road from the main entrance which stocks all manner of fishing equipment as well as grocery items and alcohol so most people are well catered for. They also do calorgaz.
All in all an excellent stay - helped along by the amazing weather. Will definitely be returning here again. Excellent value for money. Well done Woodland Waters
