We had a good weekend at this site. It was quite busy though so some there was some noise at closing time. The trick is to avoid potentially busy weekends. The facilities were good and the food at the restaurant was excellent and we are planning to return as it is open all year round and not far away for us.

Been to woodland waters for a couple of weekends and enjoyed it, clean toilets and showers, needs to have a shop on site, easy to get into Grantham and Sleaford, lovely walks around the lake and good fishing according to my son and husband. Only down side is the noise from the bar if there is a special occasion but we asked for a pitch further down the site. Staff very friendly.

We have visited 'Woodies' as the girls call it several times. It is quite local for us, so we can get there quickly, to get away from it all. We also know what to expect when we go there. If we go in the winter months, which we often do, as it is open all year, it is nice and quiet and we have only ourselves to please. If we go at a Bank Holiday or busy period then there can be issues about the noise from the marquee and other residents. This is also when, the normally clean and perfectly fine, toilets and showers suffer a bit. So my tip for this one is be selective when you go.

Our second time at Woodland Waters and as last time we thoroughly enjoyed it. With three hard to please youngsters ages 13 and twins of 11 we were worried about them getting bored but because of the amount of space here we can always find something to do. Even just a stroll around the lakes keeps them happy.
It was very busy but we were warned about this when we booked in and at peak times the toilets and showers struggle to cope. They really could do with another block, even if they only open this at peak times. However having said this the toilets were always clean. At least the gents were, the good lady did say the ladies was a bit messy with a lack of toilet paper in the evenings and some cubicles had no locks. Another thing the site could do with is a shop. The weekend we were there saw over 100 units on site. A shop would make a mint, and be great for everyone even if they only stocked milk papers and coffee. One poor gent had forgotten his barbie coal and was going from tent to caravan asking if anyone had any spare.
But where Woodland Waters really lets itself down is late night noise. I could not believe the inconsideration from some people. There was a family that thought it was clever for there children to have a screaming contest at 11.30pm. The parents were as bad cackling into the early hours revealing to the whole campsite the intimate details of previous relationships. Ugh! And the owners of Woodys Bar (the on site bar restaurant) should certainly take more control over the antics of paytrons leaving at almost 2 in the morning, complete with spinning tyres and foul language.
All in all Woodland Waters is a nice place and we will visit again, but it could be soooooooo much better.

We had a very pleasant visit to this site. it was very quiet and the staff were very friendly and help-full. The downside to this site is the toilet facilities, there is only one shower block consisting of four toilets and three showers. There is a small hairdryer in the block but you need tokens from office to use it. We definitely would visit again.

We had four nights stay at Woodland Waters. Tried getting some food at 9.30 pm and was told that they had finished cooking. But they was still bringing food out half an hour later. Then realised that it had been ordered forty minuites before. The site was very noisy till the early hours. We went into Ancaster and had a very nice meal on the Saturday evening - cannot remember the name of the pub but you turn left at the lights in Ancaster it is the first one on the left hand side. Fully recommend it. Might go back to Woodland waters in the winter months when its less busy

I really enjoyed it at Woodland Waters. The toilets and showers were really clean and the pub food was nothing to complain about. There was a kids park which was great for kids all ages.

May 2004 Just got back from a long weekend at Woodland Waters, found the site to be very clean and tidy with good size pitches. Did find to be quite noisy at night when it came to kicking out time at the bar, most of the noise was from caravan owners who had seasonal pitches, they seemed to have the opinion that they had the right to do as they liked because they were there all the time. Will use the site again because of the excellent fishing lakes but now I have a map of the site will try and book a different pitch.

May 2003 We chose this site as we have relatives living in Ancaster and they had given us the name. Although we try not to use commercial sites they had told us it was quiet. We had to agree, although it was a bank holiday period the site was quite full but not so that it spoiled our peace and quiet. We found the showers to be clean and tidy at all times although a few more would not have gone amiss. It was quite dry whilst we were there and the owners thoughtfully "damped down" the dolomite roads leading through the site. The pub on site served meals and also chinese "take away", very good! The childrens play area was large with safe "soft fall" flooring. The weekend we were there two "bouncy castles" had been erected for the children to play on(no Charge!) Would certainly call again!

June 2003 A pleasant site surrounding large fishing lake. The geese leave lots of droppings which can get get a bit messy in wet weather (treading it into the tent/van). Lots of room, but not enough showers or toilets. The night I was there, a disco in a large corporate entertainment marquee went on until 2.00 am! This could easily be heard all over the site. Perhaps the owners need to decide which business they want to be in - campsites or entertainment. Bar and restaurant on site. Children's play area.
