We have stayed before and this is one of the best looking sites we have ever stayed at. The pub is great and the playground is great for over 5s.
The shower blocks are however a real let down from previous years. They ran out of toilet paper every weekend, users did not mop out showers despite bucket and mop provided, we complained twice to wardens but were told that one of the cleaners was on holiday hence the problem! Peak season, only one block open and the site full. Also as one reviewer has also said the showers were far too hot neither myself nor my son could get under them and we had to use the shower in the van which is fine but it is not what you are paying for! Great site but shower block would Prevent me from returning.
Furthermore the site is not regulated at night, once the pub is closed the does not appear to be anyone on site. We were kept awake every weekend by loud music people screaming and shouting and running around at 2 in the morning then to be greeted by vomit in the toilet blocks as a result of the big party. This occurred both weekends that we stayed so is not a one off occurrence.
Whilst I love the relaxed approach of the site far friendlier than the usual caravan club sites we stay at, this was clearly unacceptable.

A very picturesque site, had a nice pitch on grass overlooking the lake, there is a very nice walk or cycle round the lake to enjoy the abundant wildlife there.
This site is very popular and quickly filled up Fri night, although the toilets/showers coped admirably the toilet paper ran out Sun morning!
It must be remembered that the on site bar/restaurant/fishing lakes are open to the public as heard some slight traffic noise during the night, think it may have been early morning fishermen.
Didn't use the restaurant but the bar is very pleasant and does inexpensive bar meals as well as a couple of real ales to wash it down with.
There is an infrequent bus service to either Grantham or Sleaford during the day that stops in the layby at the end of the lane far end of the campsite.
The village of Ancaster can be walked to in about 20 mins using the public footpath around the lakes. There are two pubs in the village both do food and have a couple of real ales on with The Railway having a take-away Chinese also. Paid just under £20/night for two with ehu.

Lovely area, very nice site. Facilities good; toilet/shower block clean and heated. Pitches a good size. Excellent bar and restaurant on-site. Bar meals good, restaurant prices a bit steep. We had only two minor complaints; the previous occupants of the pitch (or was it the workmen working nearby?) had been prolific smokers of roll-ups and our pitch was covered in cigarette ends. And we couldn't get any TV signal whatsoever (and on inspection, the site blurb makes no mention of TV reception). Oh and there was a wedding on with loud music until quite late - but we didn't actually mind the music. Would certainly consider visiting again.

Stayed here over the May Bank Holiday for three nights.
Site booking and arrival was very good. The site itself is set in lovely woodland and lakes and is very pretty.
We stayed on their 'electric' rally field which overlooks the lake, that is until the pitches fill up in front of you then the lake is masked by the back of caravans. The rally field is uneven in places, we had to use wood blocks to level our unit.
There are a few site rules such as no washing lines, no ball games near vans etc, but these were all broken whilst we were there, I don't think they enforce these rules.
Toilet blocks, pot washing facilities etc all as expected.
One major downfall is the cost of an awning per night, currently at £4.50 per night. We have a small lightweight awning and was still charged. It was also a couple of quid for our Westie.
So all in all this was a very expensive site, for a basic grass pitch on a rally field.

Booked for 1 night but weather and site were so good decided to stay an extra night. Booked by phone and pleasant efficient booking process.
Site was selected as I fish and managed to try 4 of the 5 lakes. Caught in all of them except the Specimen where you will need time and patience. For any anglers reading this review 4 or 6mm pellet worked best with carp, bream and roach all happy to take them. If you fish the small roach lake paste was the only bait the carp would touch.
Didn't eat in the restaurant but the did have a couple of pints sitting outside in some very nice evening sunshine. If you fancy a meal off site suggest you try the Stag at nearby Barkston.
Shower block clean, heated and plenty of hot water, overall a great site we will revisit.

We arranged a family camping trip and spent a pleasant bank holiday weekend here. Staff were helpful. Toilet and shower blocks were clean with plenty of hot water. There is a children's play area for younger children. There are nice walks around the lakes. We did not eat in the restaurant this time but have done so previously and found it was value for money. There is a small shop just over the road which sells essentials, Asda is 8 miles away. We have visited the site on numerous occasions and will be going back later this year.

Our first outing in our new motorhome.
We chose Woodland Waters because it is near to where we live.
In addition, the site is a pleasure to visit with full amenities for all.
Good shower blocks and toilets and pitches for electric or non electric.
On site there is Woodys bar serving up a fine array of meals and the restaurant was first class.
Be warned they do have a function room for weddings, parties etc so pitch further away if you want a bit of peace and quiet.
The area is very tranquil woth wooded walks and 5 fishing lakes.
Would visit again even though it is so close

We arrived at the site at lunchtime and we were given a very warm welcome and directed to our pitch. Although it wasn't level it didn't take long to rectify the 'lean' and we were soon settled in on this lovely site with a view of the larger lake in front of our 'van. The water tap was 20 feet away and the toilets and showers quite close by.
Woody's bar and restaurant is an excellent place just to enjoy a drink or indeed to have a really nice evening meal in nice surroundings.
There is a walk around the lake and the site has a playground for children and a small area for ball games.
All in all we look forward to visiting this site again in the future. It was good value for £17. 50 per night and well worth a visit. Grantham is only 15 minutes away by car and the beautiful county of Lincolnshire is all around it.
The access to the site is excellent and the surrounding roads are all good.

We have stayed at this lovely site a few times. The check in and reception is always pleasant and whenever we have telephoned them they were always helpful. We were given a map to find our pitch and we found it easily. The last time we were there it rained quite heavily but because of the sandy ground the water quickly drained away and it didn't get muddy.
We have a nine year old boy and he loves this site the playground is great for him and he enjoys playing in the woods.
There are two toilet blocks and I prefer the older block but they are always clean. I have found that there sometimes isn't enough toilet roll but that can be said for most sites.
The Bar and restaurant are the real jewels on this site. The restaurant food is excellent. The Staff always go the extra mile. The restaurant Manager is brilliant and is always on the go making sure everything is just right.
There are functions most weekends and we have never found them to be a problem even if we are pitched right near to the restaurant.
This site is only and hour away from our home and we often go on a Friday and return on a Sunday evening.
I would recommend this site if you like walking and being outdoors in the countryside. If you like to be near to town it is a short trip into Grantham.
The garage opposite stocks most things you would need including maggots for fishing.

Arrived at Woodland Waters and found the receptionist very helpful. The pitch was well drained and flat. The hook-up and water were not too far away. Toilets and washing up area were ok but not regularly cleaned. Lovely walks around the lakes but not much else to do.
Fished three lakes for three days and caught nothing (no-one there did). Asked to disinfect nets but the tubs were dry and then rinse, but the rinsing water was filthy, green and smelt rancid. Needless to say I didn`t use them.
Play area was small but ok but piece missing on walkway where my 2 year old fell through. No shop on site but an excellent garage opposite. Site was quite noisy at night( both people and traffic) and
didn`t matter if in a tent or caravan, the noise could still be heard. Children were playing football round the caravans even though the rules state no ball games, neither parents or workmen told them to stop.
Woody`s bar was very nice and clean and friendly but menu was short on variety.
Not a cheap site but would go again but not in summer as wasp nests were everywhere.
