We have just stayed on this site for a long weekend.
We read the reviews before going and it sounded lovely.
Woody’s bar is very nice and the food is excellent but they do stop serving early, I think it was 8pm on Sunday (and you must book if you want to eat in the restaurant)
The toilet block is small for the size of this park; there were a lot of units on site and only 4 toilets and 3 showers so the queues were long. One thing to note is that if you want to use the hairdryer in the shower block, you need to get tokens from reception first, other wise you will have a long walk with wet hair. But they were quite clean and had plenty of hot water.
The main point of writing this review is that the noise at night was awful; please check that they don’t have live music or disco’s on if you want to go to sleep before 1.30am!, our caravan was next to the Malden suite and you could here every word of every song (it was karaoke), once it got to 11.30pm they actually turned it up! (We spoke to the receptionist on Sunday morning and she said that is when the owner’s leave and that the person running it will have turned it up.) Another point is that they had a lot of visitor’s that are not staying on site so they come in their cars, so after the music stops you have to then listen to everyone slamming their car doors and wheel spinning out of the gravel car park.
We had gone with some friends of ours that have a 1 year old baby, so some advanced notice of the noise levels would have been nice
The campsite is in a good location, close to Grantham, Sleaford and Lincoln.
My Husband went fishing quite a bit and he said it was good. (he caught a 15lb carp if that means anything to you anglers)
I can imagine that if you went out of season this park would be excellent as the only thing that let it down was the noise.

We love this place- visited for the first time last week and booked again to go next week -its even inspired us to take up fishing again!. Very peaceful and quiet, but with enough to do. Even the kids weren't bored (7,11+12), it has a small playground and football playing area, plus some lovely woodland walks, which the kids loved.
Woodys bar is pleasant, very reasonable and extremely friendly. We didn't try the restaurant last time, as we only really booked because we were attending a wedding reception in the Malden Suite(which was great).
Toilets/showers were to a high standard, although as has previously been mentioned there is only 1 block, which has just 3 showers & 5 toilets. It was fairly quiet when we were there, so this wasn't a problem, however when the site is full, I can imagine there being a bit of a wait for them.
No shop onsite, but a garage across the road sells all the essentials-even some camping accessories. Ancaster village is within walking distance.
Overall there is nothing we don't like about Woodland Waters, its only under an hours drive for us but even if it were further its well worth the journey, I'm sure we will return many times yet.
If you're looking for an action packed hoilday, this probably isn't the place, but for a quiet break in lovely surroundings its ideal.

This is our third year camping here and as on previous occasions we all had a brilliant time (there is a group of us by the way).
We were pleased to see that more electric hook up points have been added but my only concern is that when the camp site is busy which it has been sometimes when we have been there, is that the shower block although very good, may not cope with more people. Is there plans for an additional one?
Overall one of our if not our favourite sites. PS: Thanks to all the staff who are very friendly. PPS: Fishing very good as well as the bar!

Only a hours drive away, in which we visit at least 5 weekends a year and find Woodland Waters such a peaceful and relaxing site and if you like fishing your in heaven. Woodys bar with a fine selection of beers and the sunday dinner well worth trying but booking is advisable in advance. Toilets and showers are kept clean and tidy. The only downside are the rabbit holes but I suppose this comes with the countryside and must be a big problem for the owners.

We came here after the Newark Spring fair as it was just 20 minutes down the road from the Newark showground and on the way home for us. The weather was wet and cold so we decided we needed a site with proper facilities and this fitted the bill perfectly.
The site is easily accessible and upon arrival we were greated by a lovely lady on reception who talked us through all the site facilities etc. She even gave us our choice of pitch which was great.
We decided to pitch on the rally field, near to the exit of the site and overlooking the lake. There were plenty of hookups and these were to a high rating and we did not have any problems with the EHU whilst running the heater.
The facilities block was a short walk away, five minutes, but on getting there they were spotless and the hot water was plentiful. The washing up area was clean and well maintained. We did not use the laundry , so do not know what that was like.
The lake is large and you are able to walk around it and take in the wildlife etc, however we did not as it rained constantly when we were here.
The onsite bar / restaurant is open to the locals as well as the campers but we did not find any problems with them at all. The atmosphere was great and they had Sky Sports so we could catch up the days football results! A good choice of beer and wine was on offer and we spent a warm evening in the pub. The restaurant is attached to the pub area, and although we did not eat there, the buzz we got from there was that the food was brilliant and one that should be tried if on the site.
The nearby village is walkable and there are the shops for your basic essentials available. I do not know about bigger shops as only in the area for one night.
This site is wonderful, peaceful, great location, friendly and generally superb. It is one that I will return to again in the future.

We stayed here just for 2 nights mainly for the fishing. Unfortunately it wasn't fishing very well but I think that was due to the cold.
Pitches are on grass, fairly even ground and seemed well drained.
Staff we met were all very pleasant.
Toilet facilities were clean but not many people staying on the site so I guess they should be! The toilets and showers are probably getting ready for renewing but like I said they are clean.
The restraunt is brilliant, excellent food for a very fair price!
I am sure we will be going back.

We've had 2 great weekends at this site and will definetly use again.
The showers are clean although there are only 3 we always managed to go straight in without waiting and there's loads of hot water. There is also a laundry room and washing up sinks.
There is a little playground for the kids which we pitched near but could do with updating but kids still enjoyed it and met lotsof new friends.
There is no shop on site but the garage over the road has everything you need and has good offers on wine and beer!
The pub is great and has 2 pool tables and some sweet machines and there's pub food and a restaurant but need to book early as was fully booked on the sunday.

We were here on what had to be the wettest bank holiday ever! Nicely located site with several large lakes, although we did not fish, As mentioned before, good walks on site. We were in the rally field and the ONE toilet block was a bit of a walk. Kept very clean (especially as it was muddy), but disappointed that there were so few showers. Another block is defiantly needed. Also only 3 washing up sinks, so queues for this often. Went to the bar on the Sunday night around 8.30. Some of our group were hoping to order some food. Unfortunately they had just stopped serving (early!) because they had been so busy. Not something you can plan for. Children used the play park, which was nothing specially. The roundabout didn't work and I fell it generally needs some tlc, although friends said it was better than last year. One thing the I really didn't like was the amount of duck/goose poo on the fields. Not too much near us , but a problem the nearer you pitch to the lake. Overall I felt this was a good site that could be excellent, with a few updates.

We love this site! It is just a few miles down the road for us but it does feel like a million miles away from home.
It's great for just relaxing. The shower and toilet facilities are some of the best I have seen on a campsite. The bar is nice and we have used the takeaway service, which is fine.
We don't do fishing, but there are a number of lakes on the site and it makes a pleasant walk around the site and into Ancaster village.
Only draw-back is that there is never many, if any, electric pitchs available other than to the regular pitch holders and the children's play area could be updated.

This is a large site with lakes for fishing and lots of woodland walks. There is a main field and a rally field with a mix of caravans and tents, (from here the facilities are quite a trek. It was bank holiday when we were there but we didn't experience any of the noise late at night or early morning which is mentioned in other reviews quite surprising as the site was so full. There were a few groups of people socialising later on at night but nothing rowdy. The toilets and showers were clean but very crowded and had long queues for morning showers, they could have done with more. There are some nice walks and it is easy to walk through the woods and across footpaths to the village where there is a shop and I think three pubs, though there is a pub on site with an area for families. The food served was excellent and at very reasonable prices. Nearby there is the Bubble car museum, o.h and some friends went and spent a good two hours there (not just bubble cars). There is also go karting and paint balling at Ancaster and Belton house is worth a visit. Grantham is a short drive away where there are all the larger shops with a market on Saturday. I was disappointed that the dogs on leads rule was not kept by several people who thought for some reason it didn't apply to them. The same applied to the ball games only in designated areas, resulting in games of cricket and other ball games amongst the caravans and tents. The warden came round several times and ignored it. These two reasons would put me off going to the site again.
