We stayed on this site for 3 nights in a tent. The site is in a stunning location. We take our dog camping and he had much fun on the long walk available through the gate at the bottom of the site. We were pitched away from the road that passes the site. The back of our tent on the banks of ra lovely river. The shop on site is fantastic - stocks everything! Showers/toilets - were constantly 100% spotlessly clean! 20p for a shower but I only ever used 1 x 20p for a shower and I have long hair! The lights in the shower block do not go off on a timer they slightly dim. Still ample light to get ready. The dishwashing area was immaculate also. The pitch we had was very level and we encountered no problems with tent pegs. The staff are so nice and helpful! I had forgot my basting brush for the bbq. I asked in the shop if they sold them but they had ran out - the shop assistant actually went into her own caravan and leant me her own one! So nice! We never experienced any disturbance from the road at the top of the site. There's lots to do around the area. We chose to have a few trips into Callander, which is just a 5min drive from the site. Beautiful village and good places to eat. We ate at the Chinese Restuarant one night and it was 1st class. We can highly recommend the Quality Butcher also. We also went on a boat trip up Loch Katrine which is approx 20mins drive - stunning scenery yet again! All in all this site was perfect! Couldn't fault it! We had electric whilst we camped here and had no problems with supply. Highly recommend this site! The shop even orders in your daily paper and it's there for you in the morning!

Spent four nights camping at Immervoulin. The site is situated in a beautiful river side spot just a short walk from Loch Lubnaig.
However, we thought it was a real shame that a site in such lovely surroundings was so untidy with old tyres, old vehicles and even old boats left lying around. The site and its entrance give the impression that it needs a little TLC.
The toilet/shower blocks were, however, kept spotless although the number of 20p coins required to wash your hair whilst in the shower would make a family stay rather expensive!
The lights in the shower block are also on timers and more than once I found myself in darkness until somebody else entered the building!
A makeover and revision of the shower charges we feel is definitely a must.

We stayed two nights at this site, the owners were lovely, very friendly and happy to give advice on local walks, towns and any other information they could. The majority of the site is for caravans, however the tent areas are lovely, close to the toilet block and many pitches available along the river bank. The site is right beside the A84, which is a busy road, even at night, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise. The town of Callander is about 15 minutes drive away, or a 9 mile walk, and you are also close to Aberfoyle and Killin.
The facilities are good, however we felt that 20p for 2 minutes of hot water in the shower was a little excessive, especially as this is not the cheapest of sites to stay at. You also had to pay for the hairdryer, so getting washed was a bit expensive in my opinion. However, the block was consistently spotless and plenty of cubicles and showers. There is also a laundry which I didn't use, and the dish washing area even has a low down sink for disable people or children to use.
There is an excellent dog exercise walk at the bottom of the site, and overall a very dog friendly place.

Our first impression, which sadly influences how you feel about somewhere, is that the site was untidy. There wasn't (at least we didn't see) a site name board as you come out of Strathyre heading towards Callander. Once you get beyond the gas store, the lawnmowers etc outside the office/shop etc, this is actually a nice site with a lovely walk along to the loch at one end. Only used the old toilet block briefly so can't comment on the new facilities. The shop is well stocked. There is a lot of road noise, something that can't be avoided because of the terrain, sites tend to be next to the roads. If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil place to spend a week, be aware of the road noise. We used the site as a one night stopover on our travels, perfectly adequate for doing that.

This was our very first time camping ever! So we weren't sure what to expect we got to the site via a very windy scary road from Callander (don't let that put you off you get used to it, the campsite has a fantastic shop which is very well stocked.
The site itself is situated in the valley and is a bit of a wind tunnel but saying that it is stunningly beautiful, the site has waste water and fresh water facilities every 50yrds,
The toilet / shower block is accessed via a code system its split male female and they were spotlessly clean Emma was there every morning around 7am cleaning them. The showers 20p are magic like a waterfall for me and my daughter we needed 3 20ps per shower as we need to shampoo condition etc but my hubby only needed 1, water always hot, hairdryers 20p too.
There is also a wash up room and a laundry room we didn't need to use the laundry room as only there 3 days, but it had a washer and a dryer and there was a whirlie outside to hang stuff on, wash room fab 2 adult sinks and even a kids low sink so they can do the dishes, there was also a veg prep area and sink too, all in all no complaints about the site we had a great time.
Callander very expensive don't buy a lot there apart from tesco express which was very handy and you cant go far wrong with tesco, Mhor bakery go there if you need any rolls etc as good priced and lovely, there's also a greggs. Warning: do not go to Munchys cafe they say in the window they pride themselves on homecooking, well I got a microwaved lasagne, my daughter got chicken nuggets I wouldn't give the dog and my hubby ordered spicy chicken goujons, he got chicken dippers with spice on. It was £25.15 and it was a disgrace,
Blair drummond safari park 40 mins away and fantastic day out great walks round site strathyre very quaint. Great place for a holiday.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was a fairly pleasant site but it's not one that I'd rush back to visit again. The facilities (toilets / showers & shop) were very good. The view South was great but it felt as though there were a lot of empty caravans with some in less of a state of repair than others. This gave it a slightly tatty feel for me (tatty is a bit harsh but I can't think of another word to describe it).
The river was very nice which we were pitched next to but when you got down to it there was quite a bit of rubbish that I noticed and I thought time could have been spent tidying it up.
Others have mentioned how friendly all the staff were. To be honest, whilst they were in no way unfriendly, I didn't find them to be any friendlier than anywhere else I've been to and to be honest I've been places were the staff were much friendlier. I wouldn't have even mentioned the staff if others had not mentioned them in their reviews.
The walk into Strathyre was fine even without pavement all the way and two dogs. The pubs were nice and welcoming too.
There are some lovely places to walk rounds here and at the south end of the campsite there is a gate which you go through and can let your dogs off to run about and this takes you right round to Loch Lubnaig

Friendly site. Very clean shower/toilet block.
Kids were happy to catch minnows all day and fiddle around in the river shallows with their 99p nets from the site shop- best money spent over the 5 days.
6pm movie put on by owners for kids- great idea. 2nd visit in the month for us kids rate the camping trip 10 out of 10 with day trip to pony trekking outside Callander and a Day trip to Fort William and also the Callander Highland games.
They loved a night walk along riverside path spotting bats and frogs and our labrador loved the open field along side loch lubnaig. Highly recommend even though no play park- plenty space to do ball games etc. Will be back. 10 out of 10 from kids says it all.

The site was great and we will be back. Staff were a good help and good with kids, showers were spotless and plenty room. We enjoyed the great weather and the river at the side of the site. The kids loved it
2 mins up the road is Strathyre, nice meals in the pubs, tennis courts and a small football pitch. All in all a great time we had.
The site also has a shop with everything you need. It was a nice walk down the river to loch lubnaig and up the river to balquhidder. We stayed for 5 nights with electric and had no problems.

Spent 1 night here as it is less than a hours drive away, just wanted some fresh air. Site is very easy to find sited on the A84, some road noise as site so close to road. Shop on site well stocked. Two toilet / shower blocks, clean, showers 20p. Evening film shown outside reception for kids.
Large tent field at end of site several other positions for tents with EHU. Site was not too busy even being bank holiday weekend.
Paid £23 for 6 man tent (zenobia6),2 dogs and EHU.
Strathyre just 1 min drive away for pubs etc.
No midges yet!
Overall a pleasant stay in a superb location, will go back.

Just returned from 3 nights at this site in a tent with electric hook-up. It had been raining prior to us arriving but our pitch was well drained and not boggy at all. There are some potholes in the roads around the site which had become very large puddles because of the rain but did not cause any problems. Showers/toilets were spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water at all times. Showers required 20p (and one 20p was enough).
Surrounding area has stunning scenery and it is a good base to travel around the Trossachs area.
Because the site is on a main road, there is some traffic noise but this did not bother us at all.
We had a fab few days (despite the weather) and would not hesitate returning to this site.
