Have been going to this site for years -great views, great walks, great if you have dogs because there are plenty of off-lead walks (sheep-free) in the area, though of course they must be kept on lead on park, great fishing in area, great places within driving distance to see, nice wee village within 10 minutes walk with 3 pubs - and Mack likes it too!

Excellent campsite, warm welcome and friendly smiles all round. What impressed me was the fact that the shop opened untill 10.00pm and they sold everything a camper could wish for, right down to the midgy head nets, and hot food. It was well managed with rules for campers and had plenty of playing area for the kids to kick a ball. It was next to the river and they even had permits to fish at £5.00 well cheaper than the local tackle shops. The river has quite a few brown trout and the occasional salmon jumping out. The showers were of norm but very powerfull and always hot and always clean.
On our last night we decide to go out for a meal to the local pub only about 300yrds from the campsite, again we were given a great welcome and the kids were given books and colouring in books to keep them happy whislt we waited for our food which I must say met our every requirment. Great food, great prices and for anyone wanting a treat instead of standing over a stove after 5 days then it's well worth a visit. Would definatly recommend this site and local pub to all fellow campers.

May 2004 We drove in and found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful, they really put themselves out for us, they gave us a more expensive pitch at a reduced rate near the toilet block. This campsite and the people staying there totally restored my faith in human nature, other campers boiled water for us when we had a gas problem. The campsite is situated in a lovely valley and by a river, maybe not as tidy as some would like but not very expensive. Toilets clean but a long walk from the bottom of the site.
