We visited this site as our friends had been here last year and were coming back; in all fairness my friend's hubby is into fishing so this site is perfect. The welcome was warm and friendly, as instructed by my friend at the time of booking we asked for an electric pitch near the 3rd lake as they were arriving a few days later.
There were no sensible markings and some people were perhaps taking a little more space than others, our pitch felt a little crowded but we had great neighbours!
Pitching near the lake afforded us a brilliant view across the lake rather than looking at other campers tents. The trees behind us gave us enough shade to keep the tent cool but not so much that we never saw the sun.
Each electric point has a water tap and each point has space for 4 hook ups (hence the crowding). There's another wooded camping area nearer to the centre of the campsite but this was quite overcrowded and very very muddy after the overnight storms, some areas had electric others didn't as it's at the bottom of a hill I would not want to camp there.
Lots of Eurocamp, KeyCamp etc mobile homes as expected. The site has a good swimming pool complex with shutes and slides in the indoor area, our kids spent most of their time here as the weather was brilliant.
There’s also a small beach at one of the lakes. There are a couple of play areas, a football pitch & tennis court. If you want to pay there are some activities mainly aimed at the kids which you can pay per go or buy a card which saves you some Euros.
In addition there's PGL run action station with a Zip Wire, Climbing Wall, Archery etc. There are 2 bars to choose from both offering some sort of entertainment or other including a children's disco twice a week.
The washing facilities are unisex, clean and not once did we have to wait for a toilet, shower or to wash up, beware though, if you camp at the far end of the lake you will have a longer journey to the facilities and a bike is recommended. WI-Fi is available at 2 of the bars for a small fee.
We didn't use the restaurant or the take away so we can't comment, sorry. The shop is reasonably well stocked and priced as expected. The bakery next door has bread for pretty much of the day but of course to do this the bread is part baked so not the lovely French bread we prefer but convenient.
Washing machine, dryer and soap costs 7Euros, despite having 4 washrooms I had to wait some time for a free machine and dryer.
The village is a few minutes by car but also easy to access walking or by bike, the supermarket closes between 12pm - 2:30pm and at 12pm on Sundays otherwise there’s a Cora Hypermarket in Soissons 30 minutes away.
The village has a couple of bars and a cashpoint that we know of. Disney is 1:20 minutes away and easy to get to.
We have given this site an 8 out of 10 as it didn’t have enough activities and the pitching was a little bit overcrowded and unmarked, we would come back again however as it's so near to Calais. There are excursions to Paris and Disney if you would prefer not to drive but we didn't use them so can't comment on value etc.

We spent 10 days camping here with some friends, and 5 children ranging in age from 10 to 15. Easy to book via email, very friendly and accommodating staff. Almost all speak English, in fact that could be a criticism, it's difficult to remember you're in France sometimes! We asked for two adjoining pitches, which gave us plenty of room. We were based in the park, which was quiet and picturesque, with ducks wandering round. However, we were under a tree that dropped sap the whole time, which has made a mess of our tent. The facilities were unisex, which took a little getting used to, but did make it easier to keep an eye on the boys, and meant never having to queue for a shower. Showers were warm and free, the block was cleaned throughout the day.
Lots of people have talked about paying for passes for bouncy castles etc, but there's also plenty of free entertainment. We took table tennis bats, and the boys spent hours playing - nice covered area good for shade or to keep dry. The pool complex has recently been improved, with slides and lazy river, and this too provided much entertainment.
Food is expensive, but we barbecued every night which kept costs down. You're further south than the UK, and we were very lucky with the weather. Even in the rain though, it was very mild; the jeans didn't come out all week!
We used the campsite bus to Disney and Paris, expensive, but meant we could collapse back onto the bus at he end of the day and snooze instead of driving back. Beware, the bus to Paris drops off a good 40 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, not exactly central!
In all we had a great week, mainly because there was so much for the boys to do, we adults could just sit and chill!

We stayed here for 10 days with our folding camper and also two large tents. Eleven adults and children aged 18, 14, 11, 8, 4, 2 and 1. We were given a very nice large private pitch surrounded by tall hedges with plenty room for the camper, tents and our cars. We parked our cars close to the pitch which left lots of room for the children to play and we could put three tables with chairs barbeques etc. We were blessed with lovely weather most days and made use of the very good swimming pool complex. We spent a few afternoons at the man made sandy beach, the little ones loved it. We went on the boating lake and saw fishermen catch some large fish. The kids went on the bouncy castle, trampolines and mini gocarts while the adults played crazy golf. Buying leisure cards for these gives you more for your money. Lots of ducks to feed in Le Parc part of the site. Beside the river in 'Le Parc' is not recommended for camping as my son stayed there last year and was flooded out. Stay up the hill a bit if you are put there. We had heavy rain one night and saw large puddles there surrounding some units.
The french bread people rave about is ok but no different to frozen products cooked in our supermarkets. The on site shop is ok for basics and the local supermarket prices are only about double the price of most food at home. One or two products were similar price to home. If you like beer and wine France is much cheaper. We went to a large supermarket in nearby Soissons, similar expensive food and a Carrefour was dearer again. If we go back we will try to take as much food as possible. No proper bacon and could not find any kind of curry, not even powder? The toilets close to our pitch were in very bad condition, dirty, some blocked up, broken glass in windows, no toilet paper, no ladies and gents and only cold water even in the showers. The main toilet block in the centre were kept cleaner and had hot water. One problem with these showers is the water from the shower goes over the whole floor so you have difficulty keeping dry when dressing.
The restaurant is very nice, The men had tiny little frogs legs and escargot starters. The family all enjoyed their meals but my turkey breast was over done and very tough and dry. The cheesy potatoes and vegetables were very nice. The family went to Disneyland for the day and had a good time queueing while I went on my own to Paris. I got on the river Batabus for 14e and visited the Louvre, Eiffel tower and Notre Dame Cathederal. You can get on and off this boat at the main attractions.
In summary we had a good holiday there and thought the camp was very good if you can put up with the toilets and showers and if you are self catering, have plenty money to buy food.

Big site, plenty to do, looks well-kept. Lots of statics. Quiet overnight, which was good.
Camping pitch in 'parc' area- slightly sloping, damp, muddy field with lots of wasp traps hanging from trees. Given 'pitch' under a tree.
Not the best pitch, but the nearby sanitary facilities were appalling. Water on toilet floors that came from flushing, loo roll dispensers outside cubicles that dispensed one sheet at a time (most were empty though), plenty of loo roll floating around floor!. No soap. Lights only come on when you lock the door & then half the time they don't work. Quite horrible facilities, that I heard heaps of campers complaining about.
We stayed here in June 2004 and the sanitary facilities were fine then, so I suspect they are worse when the site is busy in high season.
Decided to leave after one night only.

Had a great time at this campsite. It did rain a few days but it was raining everywhere to be fair but it did not stop us. Myself, hubby and 2 boys aged 3 and 5 were there. The site is amazing it has something for all.
The shop is pricey but supermarkets are nearby but do shut at lunchtime on a Sunday. The bread shop in the centre of the village is a must everyday for bread even open at lunchtime. The pool is great especially the baby pool, it has a hot tub and jacuzzi. All indoor so good for wet days. It has 3 lakes which you can buy a pass for and go fishing and the fish are huge. Also the beauty parlour is reasonable I got my nails polished for 5 euro which I thought was good.
The kids can play on the bouncy castle, trampoline, mini golf, and go carts, but do buy a pass ours was 40 euros but we got 70euros to play which was ideal. There is wifi in the bar by the lakes which is cheap but by the pool there is a internet room which is pricey as you have to learn the French keyboard so it runs away with your money.
The takeaway is good but not every night, the restaurants are very good but book.
The toilets and showers were spotless and hot in the morning and evening. There are some old buildings but just a short walk to the new one depending on where your pitched.
You can feed the ducks everyday sometimes they'll walk along to your pitch which is nice.
There is a doctors in the village whose english is very good if ever in need.
Its a hard site to find as you think your going over hills for ever this is because the location is in a forest but if you put into your sat nav Soissions, then when you are approaching put in Berney Riviere, you get there no bother.
We had a great time and will defo go back. There is also kids clubs and entertainment and soccer school, my boy didn't go as as we were not with kidscamp or eurocamp, the boy tried to charge us 10euro a day he was just at it. Anyway hope this is helpful for you and enjoy

Located in Berny Riviera, the closest village is Vic-Sur-Ainse a five minute drive or fifteen minute walk away. Where the lady in the tourist board office is very friendly and helpful. The staff on the site are also friendly and helpful, and speak very good English, they found us a pitch with ehu even though we arrived on spec and had not pre-booked on this site. The pitches were all quite large (in the area we were) though they had seen a lot of use, they all seemed to be bare of grass especially in the centres, as was ours. This could make them fairly dirty when it rains. Each pitch has a tap and ehu point on it if it has an electric supply, non ehu pitches are also available.
Croix-Du-Vieux-Pont is a large site which is family friendly, with three lakes, one for swimming only, a swimming pool, restaraunt, shop bakery, fast food take-away and a bar. Fishing is allowed on two of the lakes and on the River Ainse, although we were told that the license for the river is quite expensive, around 60 euros, the license for the lakes can be purchased on a daily or weekly basis. There are also activities on the site specifically for children.
The sanitary facilities are kept spotlessly clean and are cleaned three or four times daily. Showers and warm water are free, though the sanitary blocks are all unisex and incorporate the toilet facilities as well. There are several on the site, and you are never far away from one.
We foud that food and drink here were on the pricey side, but over-all we had a very pleasant seven night stay here, and paid by Camping Cheques.
I don't think this should stop anyone going to this site, but after a very heavy thunder storm on the 28th of June(a Tuesday night) we had a mole under our tent as the ground had softened. Still isn't this why we go camping, nature,
Would we return to Croix-Du-Viuex-Pont? Yes.
If you should decide to stay here, you must go and visit Pierrefond Castle.

This is a very large site and is attractively laid out. It has many facilities, the most we have ever seen including 3 large lakes. It has a large range of accommodation types. We would recommend it for families with children as it has a large number of facilities and activities for children and adults.
One of the great things about this site is its location. Within striking distance of Paris, Disneyland Paris, not too far from Calais, and very very close to the awesome Pierrefonds Castle (used for the BBC Merlin series).
The pizza we had there was actually one of the best pizzas we have EVER had!
Our stay was peaceful but was marred by two things. The sanitaire block has the most puzzling design for illuminating the toilets and showers. If it is dark outside you enter them in darkness and in total pitch black you fumble for the door lock on the inside of the toilet / shower. This activates the light! Second, and more important is the pitch size. Camping Cheque describe the pitches as being very large (150 to 250 sq m). Ours, and all our neighbour's were approximately 48 sq m. We, and others were told to move our cars as we were on other pitches. The pitches have no numbers, no lines, no hedges, nothing to delineate them. So, if you have a large family tent and wish to camp there, then this site cannot be recommended. 48 sq m is the smallest pitch we have ever encountered.

This a great site for visiting the local area and also quiet convenient for the paris area via either the site coach, (this you need to book ahead) or driving to the nearest station and taking the train, The nearest station we were advised was at Crepy.
The site has everything you could wish for if you have a young family including PGL the outward bound company for children and not (Parents Get Lost) as the kids keep telling me.
We stayed in a mobile home that was ideal for our needs. The on site bar was ok a bit steep, but ok. The nearest supermarket is intermarche about a 15 min walk into town.
While you are there make sure you visit Pierfonds it is beautiful.

Myself and son (9) spent 5 nights here on return from visiting family further south. We upgraded from taking our own tent to a static, due to short stay and risk of bad weather in April. The static (booked through Keycamp) was well equipped, in good repair and comfortable. We had a great spot by the river only a short walk from the main reception, shop and pool area. Luckily as we were at the end of the road I was able to park next to the pitch rather than on it, as having an estate car it would have been a bit of a squeeze (worth asking about this when you book). Our pitch had a sheltered tile covered terrace with brick barbecue but this was particular to our part of the site.
The shop is well stocked and prices match the local hypermarket. There is also a small boutique selling gifts, toys, newpapers and magazines. I used the laundry facilities and the area was clean despite the very heavy rain we had experienced earlier in the day. The pool area is excellent. There is a good sized outdoor pool and an adjoining pool which can be covered or open depending on the weather. There is also a hot tub and slide pool. As well as the restaurant which is reasonable (recommend the moules a la mariniere) there is a snack bar for pizzas and burgers but didn't try it so can't comment. The play area was quite a distance from our pitch and given the close proximity of the lake I would have been reluctant to allow younger children to venture there alone.
The site offers trips to Disney claiming to save hassle and parking fee but the parking at Disney is 15 euros and at 20 euros per adult and only slightly less for children for the excursion, I preferred the flexibility of making our own way there. However, if you haven't already got your tickets for Disney and Parc Asterix you can buy them at reception (at face value) which does save time queueing. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There is an Intermarche supermarket nearby but the Cora hypermarket at Soissons offeres greater choice.

This was our first trip abroad with the tent so nothing to compare with however our review follows. Stayed here in August, shame but we had bad weather.
We were situated in Le Parc area of the site, luckily not on the island within Le Parc as this flooded by the river. Torrential rain and floodgates on the river not opened as it was a Bank Holiday, resulting in the river bursting its banks and flooding the Le Parc area.
Many campers left or were moved to temporary areas. Note they like to pack them in and our pitch was on the small side, sure it would have contravened H&S in this country. As per previous reviews electrics left a lot to be desired with leads trailing across pitches and extensions in black bin liners! We were lucky and ours was directly behind our tent, along with water.
Toilets and showers were as a result messy, remember to take your own toilet roll as its in a machine and regularly got stuck!
Site nice, excellent pool area, slides good I am told! Nice covered toddler pool, roof was opened on couple of nice days we had. Other toilet blocks around the site of good standard. Le Parc is used as an overflow so perhaps this is why the toilet block for this area was substandard.
Good lake for fishing, table tennis, and small beach. Pedaloes and canoes available for hire. We used Cora supermarket in Soissons but smaller ones close by. Visited Paris for the day using the coach based on the campsite. Took around 1hr 30mins. 1hr for Disneyland Paris too. Good campsite for families, and was on the whole quiet from around 10.30pm.
