This was our second visit to Willow Holt and we loved it as much as the first time. I love peace and tranquillity, wildlife and aircraft although aircraft and peace and quiet don't go together it is worth the trade off!
There are no facilities for kids but when we have been there we have seen children have a great time at the waters edge and I don't think that a play park was missed.
There is a road running alongside the site but noise from it is neither here nor there.
There was no problem with queues for the shower block but then I tend to go out of 'peak' hours. Plenty of hot water all the time. There is now a well stocked accessory shop but no site shop.
This is no hardship as there are lovely villages within a very short drive for all your needs. I will be trying out the fishing on future visits as we have decided to go seasonal on this site for at least the remainder of this year.

Stayed here for the first time, nice and friendly greeting. As it was Easter Tuesday the site was very quiet so had a pick of pitches, chose one over looking the big fishing lake. The toilet and shower blocks were very clean with plenty of hot water, don't know what people were complaining about. No problems with the electric, had TV, microwave, fridge, lamp and heater on all at same time and had no problems didn't go off at all.
My partner went fishing in the small lake, was a bit of weed but not much, didn't stop him from catching tench. Could do with a childs playground. Plenty to do around, Woodhall Spa is a nice village only 2 1/2 miles away, Coningsby is not far good afternoon watching the army aircraft and Skegness is only about 25 miles. The only fault I have with the site is that they do not sell groceries but there is a village shop only about a mile away which is a nice walk. Will definitely go back.

We have just spent two days at this site. Great location, friendly welcome, nice accessories shop - but absolutely awful facilities.
The surrounding area is lovely with plenty to do.
The website states there are power showers and plenty of hot water - false advertising here! Very, very tepid showers, no more than a trickle, in a freezing cold, continually dirty shower block with only two ladies showers for the whole site.
The electric went out at tea time on the first night and wasn't back on until 10am the next day. It then went off the next night as well. Despite telling the office, the warden who drove round at 9. 00am had no idea!
The pitch for our caravan was very nice but our friends in tents were in a bog at the end of the site and spent their time wading through mud!
We all came home early as, despite our best efforts and the lovely location, the showers, cold washing up water, electricity disaster etc was just too horrible. No money back was given despite complaints.

We last visited this site approximately 5 years ago and we had 2 reasons for going back this Easter.
1. To see if the site had changed
2. We left it very late to book anywhere and Willow Holt appeared to be the only site in the vicinity that had vacancies.
First impressions were that the site had a few more static caravans and some general landscaping had been carried out. However, and rather unfortunately, nothing else seemed to have changed.
This included a waste water drainage point (probably the only one on site) that was still blocked which meant that waste water would run all over the concrete surface and eventually into the ground.
The shower blocks are described as 'luxury' and as having 'power showers'. There was nothing whatsoever luxurious about these showers, of which there are only 2 cubicles per gender for the whole site. In 5 years it looks as though the ceiling has had a lick of paint but the rest of it looks dilapidated and run down and the cleaning leaves an awful lot to be desired.
The power showers could best be described as a luke warm fast dribble. To be fair, I never saw much of a queue for the showers.
On the Easter Sunday, probably the busiest day of the camping calender, the rubbish bins were not emptied with no sign of the owners or the warden.
The site had a problem with the electricity constantly tripping throughout the site for hours on end and this issue should have been addressed.
In general, it appears little or no maintenance has been carried out to the touring facilities in the 5 years since my last stay, they were looking tired then.

Arrived to a warm welcome and with it not being busy had a choice of pitches beside the lake.
Pitches are level with plenty of water point and electric hook ups
Unfortunately the shower block was a bit of a lets down as there are only two showers in the mens and two in the ladies for the whole site
Which in busy periods is not really enough.
Also the cleanliness of the showers were a bit off putting during our stay they don't seem to have been cleaned and the shower curtains was a bit grubby. I would suggest that the site improved on the toilet and shower side
Fishing in the lakes are free which is good for those that like to fish for just a couple of hours on a early morning or on an evening free of charge but unfortunately the lakes have suffered badly with a weed problem at the moment.
Woodhall spa has a couple of nice shops with a couple of mini supermarkets, Plenty of pubs and cafes as well in the area which sell good food.
All in all if the site improved and possibility built addition shower and toilet blocks this coup
Would be a really good site to explore Lincolnshire from

All in all this is a an extremely pleasant and well looked after site, the staff are friendly, the toilets are clean, showers are warm and the views over the lakes are excellent abd provide some good wildlife, we saw wild mink whilst we there. Unfortunately I do have a moan though.
We booked this site based on the apparent quality of the fishing, 2 large lakes good features seemed to be ideal for some 'chilling out on the bank'
However both lakes (apart from 3 spots) are completely un-fishable due to the amount of weed that encroaches all along the side of the lakes.
So a word of warning, if you are planning a weeks fishing there I would check first on the extent of the weed problem.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this campsite. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Facilities were good- clean, warm showers and toilets, although could perhaps do we minor updating.
Lots of drinking water and waste water points. Views were stunning. I would definitely return to this campsite and recommend it to others. The only down points are that there are a lot of insects, but given the scenery you should expect this, there was some road noise and noise from planes but nothing that affected our holiday. Whilst locally there are shops were essentials can be bought I think the site would benefit from a little shop. But like I said previously we thought this was a great place to take our little ones camping.

A good location for touring Lincolnshire, and friendly staff and reasonable facilities, and the local RAF base is a plus if you like planes!
On the minus side, there are few walks (if you like walking like our group did).
Worst though is that the site is ringed by trees and has a lake in the middle of it = squadrons of mosquitoes! Bring lots of insect repellent if you're there in the summer, keep your skin covered and the tent door shut. I didn't and was badly bitten and collected lots of big red lumps.

We have just returned from a bank holiday weekend at Willow Holt.
On arrival at the site we were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff. Our first impression of the site was stunning wonderful views and in a lovely setting.
However our mood did change once we started to pitch our tent. We went through four bags of brand new pegs as the ground is so hard. When we asked the staff at the site they just said we should have brought a drill to help put our pegs in by drilling a hole first ! Well that is definitely a first for us campers bringing a cordless drill. There were at least 12 tents on our field alone and we all had the same problem it made pitching an absolute nightmare. We had to pop into Woodhall Spa the next day and we bought out the hardware shop's full supply of rock pegs, they did seem to do the job. However you could not get them into the ground fully so it was a nightmare with two toddlers running about with half exposed pegs all over the place.
The showers are clean and well kept, they were cleaned twice a day. In our opinion they could do with another block only one on the site and it did get busy waiting for the two showers.
Not far from the local shops in both Tattershall and Woodhall.
The site could definitely do with a park/play area for the kids as they did get a little bored at times.
Our only advise the campers on the EHU field. TAKE LOTS OF ROCK PEGS !

Having had a disappointing stay in another local Caravan Park we drove past Willow Holt and decided to book in for the rest of our break as it looked so nice.
We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely grounds and 3 lakes that were in the park. I intend to return with fishing gear and fish their stocked lakes.
Facilities were lacking but there is a great local shop which is open till late 1 mile up the road which serves everything. Including local meats, pastries and cakes. The fish and chip shop does nice chips too.
The toilet and shower blocks were fairly cold but we did go in April so there wasn't any heating but it was liveable.
We enjoyed the site and would return. Were treated to RAF flyover of the Eurofighter and WW2 Spitfire together on one day.
