Stayed at this site beginning of July 2009 - went on spec. Staff very friendly and welcoming, happy for us to look round before booking. Stayed on the Arena pitch as the Lakeside pitches were reserved for a Canoeing event at the weekend. Great location, peaceful, it was lovely to sit out overlooking the lake and watch the wildlife. We found the site quiet.
I didn't use the facilities - hubby did said OK but could be better. It looks like they are investing quite a bit in the site and I would expect the facilities to be improved as time goes by. Little village not far away with shops, pubs etc. Fishing free - not sure about bait availability. Would go back due to friendliness of staff. Didn't notice any facilities for children, although plenty of spae and there is the fishing for those interested. Probably more of an adult site. Does seem that there are quite a few weekend events so worth checking before you book.

Just back from 2 nights here over the weekend.
Friendly and helpful staff told us that we could pick our pitch on the tent field (non EHU). We had loads of room even with our large tent, extension and kitchen tent so we were happy.
The toilet/showers were clean although hubby and son said that the mens block did smell bad. There are many water points and rubbish bins around the site.
The lakes are great for fishing, close to the camping and it was free to campers.
There are shops in the nearby villages which are only a few minutes drive away, sold everything you could want, even camping gear in case of emergencies.
Overall the site was great, we were thinking of booking for a week in July but there is a go-cart track in the next field to the site and from 9am-7pm on Saturday the noise was awful, plus we happened to be there on the weekend they had model powerboat racing on the lake (we were not informed of this when we booked and would have chosen a different weekend had we known). We ended up having to shout at each other just to be heard at times, far from the peaceful site we were led to believe it was.
If the noise isn’t a problem for you then this is a nice place to camp, but we go away for peace and quiet so we won’t be visiting again, which is a shame because we liked the site.

We spent 3 nights (Sat, sun & Mon) here in glorious sunshine. The site is very level and clean, with the tent areas separated by shrub beds to provide a bit of privacy.
There was some road noise and aircraft noise but that is to be expected with airfields around. Ideal for those of you (and us) who are fans of historic aircraft. Otherwise the site was quiet especially as there was nowhere for kids to play, so doesn't attract families.
I agree with previous comments about the showers, there were only 2 in the ladies which could be an issue in peak season.

Just come back from a weekend with all ages and had a really nice time.
Pitches were great, we were in the paddock and pretty much had it all to ourselves. It is also very picturesque. However, we backed onto a main road which was quite noisy. The facilities were always clean but very basic and only 2 showers for the whole site.
There was no playground for kids but ours didn't seem to need one as they enjoyed the huge field we were in and their bikes!
The chaps went fishing but weren't very lucky and didn't see anyone really catching anything all day.
The owners are lovely and really helpful.
Overall it is a lovely site but don't think we would go back because of the road noise, or would pitch closer to the lake away from the road which isn't ideal for small kids.

Having recently suffered illness, I was advised to take things easy, So decided to buy a caravan & take up fishing. Needed somewhere to try it out, hunted through site reviews and found this site.
An excellent choice, after a day, totally relaxed a perfect location, great fishing, clean well maintained facilities, level pitches with EHU.
Shops are not too far away in Woodhall Spa,it has takeaways and plenty of places to eat, small supermarket, excellent butchers and bakeries, a place that takes you back to a simpler more relaxed lifestyle.
If you are looking for that perfect chill place, look no further. We for certain will be going back

Had a great weekend at this site (the weather helped). It is flat and the grass is kept really short. It's very scenic with the lake and wildlife that surrounds it. It's a short drive if you need any provisions. The facilities were comfortable and kept clean.

Well I cant fault this site, it was very busy but at the same time very quite.
The wash facilities were spotless, the park itself was spotless. These people went out of their way to make us welcome, despite us turning up a week early.
There is no shop on site, but a Bugdens is only 1 mile away, or a Sommerfield is only a mile in the opposite direction.
A great site, one to which we will return to again.

Once again we returned to this site after many visits last year. We were the only tent there as it was the weekend after the bank hols. Total tranquillity. Showers spotless (as always). A lot of space even when it is busy, the kids had room to play safely. All in all a fab campsite. Will deffo be returning .

We were a group of 10 that stayed at Willow Holt for 5 nights over the Easter break. We had two family tents and stayed in the 'Horseshoe' area with EHU. The pitch sizes were great - we have an Outwell Hartford XXL and had ample room.
The site accommodates around 90 pitches in total and my only criticism would be that they really could do with building a second toilet block as when the site is full, which it was for the first 3 nights of our stay there are only 4 toilets and two showers in each side. So if you weren't up early you had to queue for a shower. I had my first experience of the showers at 7am on our first morning and the water was lovely and hot and the pressure was quite good too, but my next shower was a different story as I went over to the block around 9am and I had to wait for a shower to become free then once in the water was luke warm and just a trickle. A family room would also be a good idea, as it was very awkward trying to shower my 8 and 3 year old together in the tiny shower cubicles.
Moaning over now for the good. Absolutely lovely site, very quiet, minimal noise from the road, the walks around the lakes were a treat and enjoyed by all in our group - young and old. The surrounding villages are very pretty and most amenities can be found too, ie cash machines, supermarkets, butchers etc. We visited Tattershall Castle and everyone really enjoyed looking round and learning the history of the lovely building and grounds. The site owners are very friendly and helpful and have lots of information leaflets available in the reception area for you to find places to visit in the nearby area. Would definitely go back and visit again. Would give this site a definite 8/10.

Stayed here for four nights and was very pleased with the view of the lake and the resident swans. We were able to choose our pitch and had a wonderful spot overlooking the lake. Nice and spacious pitch. EHU. Really lovely quite site and not muddy considering the heavy rain. Gorgeous view of the stars too.
Excellent view of Jet aircraft flying over and also a Spitfire. Plane spotting excellent at RAF Coningsby- also houses the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Coningsby had everything you needed from supermarket to butcher. Tattershall castle excellent.
I would suggest the toilet block needs seriously updating and cleaning. Showers were caked in limescale and smell of drains awful. Service point we used had a blocked drain under the fresh water. Bins were clean and emptied.
Would go back for peace and quiet , but would not use facilities if I could help it.
