Just returned from this campsite and was impressed. Area was clean and pitches level with a choice of where to pitch. Wardens etc. were friendly and helpful. The site was very busy when we were there and the only disappointment was the shower blocks - only 2 male and 2 female showers and an eternal queue! The shower blocks were a little dated and could benefit from some improvement. A little play area would have lovely for the kids but other wise would go back again and would recommend to anyone. DONT FORGET YOUR TORCH!(very little night time lighting LOL)

It was a nice quiet site, road noise not a problem for us, the toilets and the shower blocks were very clean. Ideal for fisherman, good location for visiting skegness approx 40 mins by car. Good size tent pitches ground a little rocky, would make a return visit .

Lovely site. Went with friends who have a caravan and the owners were very friendly and helpful making sure we were pitched near each other, even though we arrived a day later. Had a bit of trouble with the rocky ground near the lakeside but bought some excellent rock pegs from nearby caravan shop. Very nice site with gorgeous sunsets over the lake. The kids enjoyed exploring around the lake on bike and on foot. Toilets very clean though only 2 showers in the ladies over a bank holiday meant getting up extra early to avoid queues! We are going back again this year and have recommended it to friends who have also returned time and again. No playground for young children but this could have made site noisier and the children found other more imaginative things to do instead. Lincoln is nearby and other smaller villages to visit.

Wonderful site, will definitely visit again. Set in a pleasant quiet environment with lakeside pitches available despite our booking being a last minute booking. The wardens were incredibly friendly and helpful and the bbq hire was great. Toilets and shower blocks were clean throughout the day.
This site is lovely if you have a dog, as you are able to walk them around the lakes and into the woods adjacent. My only complaint about this lovely site is a lack of lighting at night, should you have to cross the site to the toilet block, (take a torch).

The site was fairly quiet when we visited in August and there was plenty of space in which to choose a spot to pitch our tent. The owners were very friendly. Toilet blocks and washing up facilities weren't spotless, but were by no means dirty.
Someone below mentioned the road next to the tent pitches- the occasional car does zip down but I didn't find it too much to bear. The lakes are lovely and the nearby towns and villages have some nice shops and lovely pubs!

Just back from Willow Holt, had 5 great days at this site and I must say it was very nice. The site itself is very nice and I will be going back but only two things I must say is, if you have kids there is not even a swing to keep them entertained so come on Willow Holt, a little park for the kiddies! And a plug socket in the ladys fo.... you guessd it THE HAIR DRYER. Apart from that the site is great

On arrival we were greeted and made to feel incredibly welcome and given a choice of pitch even though the site was fully booked for the weekend. The pitch was level, on grass although a touch hard, requiring rock pegs to properly fit awning, situated next to one of the lakes, giving wonderful views, not only of the nature but also the battle of britain memorial flight, who gave regular fly pasts throughout the weekend.
It was a very clean and quiet site, with all amenities close by wherever sited. Excellent if you have a dog, with lovely walks. It was all we expected and more, we will definitely return.
The only downsides were a lack of shop selling basics on site and that it wasnt well lit at night.

Just got back from Willow holt ,been camping at this site for about 4 years each time it seems to get better yes only a small shower block but must say Bert keeps it clean and tidy nice big pitches and very friendly ppl on site. Fishing is free to people on site and pike tench roach and bream can be caught .Road which runs up the side of the camp site is not a busy road but must say cars do go fast up it. Tents dont have to pitch only at this side of the park ,I dont think you can pre book a pitch but you would have to check this camp site takes bookings but i have never booked a pitch

Very pleasant site that was remarkably dry throughout this wet period. Lovely and flat with easy access to all plots. Plenty of waste and water points with free shower block and dustbins that are frequently emptied. It has a couple of coarse lakes that holds a wide variety of fish that is free to guests. Very nice people who leave you well alone during your visit but are always on hand to help. Will visit again!!

June 2004 The reviews I've seen on this and other web sites would have you believe that Willow Holt is a peaceful and tranquil site. This may be true for some parts of the site, but those of you with a tent beware - the pitches are right next to a fairly busy road. On the map it appears to be a minor unclassified road, but appears to be actually a racetrack for a local population clearly frustrated with the proliferation of speed cameras on the main roads in the area.
Also, the "modern" toilet block is way too small for the site - even when we visited in mid-June. Only two showers, hot water ran out by 08:30 and cleaning is obviously too infrequent for the volume of people using the facilities, judging by the smell.
If you can put up with the above or have a caravan with a shower its probably quite a good site.
