As always the not so good bits first !
Showers are a little dated thats all ! they are clean and tidy though and plenty of space.
Ground is rock hard. Mr Grumpy managed to wreck several rock pegs in getting awning up.
Now the good stuff !
Great location
Friendly people
Fishing is good
You want a lakeside pitch then this is the place
Plenty of local information in reception
Plenty of space on pitchs
We will go here again add this to your favourites !

We have returned from a weekend at Willow Holt. We had our tent and our in-laws came with their camper van. Had a very pleasant stay, the warden introduced himself on Friday evening to let us know he was around if we needed him no matter what time of night or day he would be on hand - which was helpful to know. The toilet blocks only have two showers in the 'ladies' but as my daughter and myself were up early this was not a problem but I guess it could be. The only downside is the lack of lighting at night, basically no lighting, perhaps could do with the odd light dotted about for safety reasons. Also the ground is very very hard when trying to erect a tent. The area is nice, would recommend and will be definitely returning again.

4 of us stayed here for the last weekend in July in two separate tents. The grounds were beautifully maintained, staff are very helpful. Herbert the on-site warden is very pro-active striving to keep everyone happy. The toilet blocks were immaculate and hand soap is provided. No real queues for the showers; male or female. There are 3 indoor washing up sinks again nicely kept. Most of the caravans seem to be kept on site with regular visitors each weekend. It was approximately 30 minutes drive through countryside from Lincoln.

Just spent a great weekend at willow holt, with my wife and 2 kids. Booking my e-mail was confirmed quickly .We were worried about the site flooding with all the rainfall, I telephoned the site and they assured me the ground would be ok, they were correct. Plenty of space even for our montana 6,level ground, if a bit hard for pegging. Toilets, showers nice and clean. Free fishing, great for keeping the kids amused, lots of geese, rabbits and wildlife. Half an hour drive into Lincoln. Will go again.

What a lovely site, when we first arrived it did look very busy but a lot of caravans were on seasonal pitches, once we had found a fairly dry spot (cause we had had a lot of rain in the week running up to that weekend), we sat back and couldn't believe how peaceful it was and what beautiful views across the lakes. The shower block was always clean and bins were emptied every day by the warden who along with the owners are very friendly and helpful.

Just visited this site over the bank holiday weekend. We had a lovely peaceful weekend and the owners/wardens were very friendly and helpful. Although the site appeared very full, the facilities were always clean and available. Children are allowed to play ball games near their caravan/tent as long as they do not disturb other visitors. The warden also said the children could play on the grass by the lake, but to be honest this did not seem a very large area and balls would probably end up in the lake. The site is quite dark in the evenings so a torch is recommended for late night trips to the washroom. Everyone on the site was very friendly and we would definitely visit again.

Just come back from a weekend at Willow Holt. The site is very nice, we were met by a very friendly warden, we let us choose our own pitch. There were a lot of seasonal caravans on the site, and as it was the first weekend of the season a lot of them were their setting up there vans. We managed to get a very nice spot right next to the lake, there are plenty of birds to feed!. There was quite a bit of road noise, but nothing like the planes flying over head all day on the Thursday and First thing Friday morning...the site is not far from an Air Force base... There are plenty of places to visit, Woodall Spa is only a couple for miles away, and the village of Tattershall has a supermarket, pub and a very nice little Chip Shop. The only main gripe about the site was the toilets, although they were clean, they was absolutly freezing, we couldnt even see a radiator so we don't know if they should be heated or not.. All in all, a pleasant site, though not really for small children as their is nothing to do, and you would have to keep an eye on them round the lake

Having moved from the Noisy Tattershall Country park, this site was a welcome sight! The park was clean, the toilets and showers were nice. The pitches for tents ran around the back wall (backing onto I think fields) we had a lovely spot, the owners - a family site - were very friendly. We'd explained the problems we'd had at the other site, the owner even came over the next morning to check we'd had a peaceful night - what service! and we had The view from our tent was over looking the lake, with a lovely short walk around the lake. There is plenty of ducks, swans and moorhens wandering around and dogs must be kept on a lead. The site was clean and the owners do not allow kids to run amock! If your after quiet, typical family camping a friendly atmosphere then heres your site! Fishing - is available better for Breem, tench etc some youngster took a 14lb one out and ended up in the magazine! Free to residents If your after Carp - then one mile down the road is moon lake, full if Carp so a local told us excellent campsite will go again next year, pass on by tattersall country park though!

We have stayed at this site at Willowholt twice, first time for a long weekend beginning of July and then booked for 10 days July / August, we had a very nice peaceful holiday. Even though the site was very busy, I can honestly say as I used the showers in the evening I did not have to wait for a shower once. The reception was very helpful and so was the warden. The rubbish is taken away and the site kept clean. The views across the lake was lovely. The only thing was the droppings from the geese. We will certainly visit again.

Arrived at the site to a friendly welcome at reception and were given directions to the camping area. As we entered the site we saw a sea of caravans and, as we continued towards the camping area, passed a small toilet block. We then looked around for the other toilet blocks - there obviously had to be more for this number of units - but, to our surprise there wasn't. There were only two other tents in the "tenting area" so there was no problem finding a suitable pitch. The area was reasonably flat but there is a great deal of stone or tree root in the subsoil making it very difficult to peg into. Spare pegs are advisable. Once we were set up it soon became apparent that most of the caravans were not occupied (probably just weekenders) so the minimal number of toilets was not an issue for us but must be totally inadequate when the site is full. There are lots of geese wandering around the site and it is difficult to walk in the "tenting area" without stepping onto their droppings. The site is in an excellent location for visiting numerous places of interest and there is an on-site warden available to help with any problems.
