Just arrived home after 2 night stay, I must say this is a lovely and well kept site, you do get road noise from the A40 but we knew that did not keep us awake. Toilets very clean and showers too, only let down you could not change water direction on the show and had to press the button quite a lot, but again not a real problem it did the job. Lovely setting being by the canal which looked a lovely walk if I was not recovering from a broken ankle. Overall a lovely site and will return

 Stayed here for 2 nights - 2 x tents with hook-up.

Positives:

- We chose to pitch in the 'dell' which was more or less level and quite private, the grass was being cut as we arrived and that area and the shrub boarders are very well kept. The larger part of the grass area is level and well kept.

-The toilets / showers were clean and tidy although I agree the shower 'push button' system gives limited amounts of water at a time.

- Good recycling /rubbish area and inside washing up area

- The owner was away but the person standing in was friendly and helpful and gave lots of information about local walks etc. Being on the towpath is a definite benefit / attraction of this site.

-There were only 2 other tent/camper van arrivals over the weekend we had the quiet relaxing time we wanted.

Negatives:- You cannot park on the grass, even to unpack. Unless you want to park right next to the car park/road side of the grass you may need to carry all equipment across the grass area to your pitch. This would be a problem in heavy rain - perhaps bring a fold up trolley OR the owner could provide one?

- The caravan area could do with a tidy up, it is not up to the standard of the garden area. There are some vans which appear to have been there for some time based on the dirt on the roofs.

- You cannot actually see the canal from the tent/caravan area although there are tables next to the towpath which can be used.

- there is road noise (personally it wasn't too intrusive)

Visited with son and girlfriend who were in a tent. Owner helpful in giving us pitches next to each other.

Grass area for tents and garden well kept but hard standing for motorhomes and caravans poor. Glorified car park with lots of weeds. Lots of caravans which looked scruffy and obviously on seasonal pitches.

No facility for emptying water and although several taps around site no hose provided (we have our own luckily)

ladies and gents facilities each have 2 showers & 2 toilets and although clean are in need of upgrade. Water hot and plenty room for getting changed but showers on VERY short push button operation making for a frustrating process! Gents shower and toilet area has mould in several areas. Ladies section has laundry which is also used for dishwashing as no other dishwashing facilities provided.

Traffic noise from M40 varied depending on time of day.

Very nice food at Pickled Ploughman - about 40 mins walk.

Website & brochure do not give a true reflection of this site - only showing garden and tent area but the hard standing is poorly maintained. Will not be returning.

The good the bad and the ugly.

The good is the well looked after grass and garden area reserved for tents.

The bad is the hard standing, a large area of gravel covered in weeds, the EHU boxes have not been cleaned for years, covered in lichen, the water taps are unmarked and often behind other vans.

Some caravans have been here for years in one spot and are an absolute eyesore, again covered in mould.

The ugly are the so called facilities, the showers heads are so calcified that the water sprays everywhere, the shower cubicles and curtains have seen far better days to be polite. The CDP in a shack round the back is absolutely awful, no lighting and the smell!

No info as to what to do with grey water so ours went in the hedge.

The bus will stop for you outside the site if you wave at it.

M40 is noisy all the time but you get used to it, the canal is a pleasant stroll if you fancy it.

Will not be returning under any circumstances, the website is not a true reflection of the actual leisure park id describes

A real gem, well laid out with level hardstanding and adjacent dedicated grass camping area, all with a beautifully landscaped hillside garden backdrop.

The site is next to the Oxford Canal and the towpath provides an easy walk into Banbury. Buses pass regularly and there is a more frequent service half a mile away at the top of the hill (Banbury Road). A good base for walking with footpaths in every direction.

Lots of eating & drinking options in Adderbury, plus live music at the Bell and even Morris Dancing.

Immaculate toilet/shower block with super showers. The only thing missing was a food prep & dishwashing facility with hot water (preferably indoor), but perhaps this is planned for the other old brick kiln which appeared to be in the process of some sort of renovation. Not a problem in a motorhome or caravan with onboard facilities, but a necessity for most campers. Not a moan, please treat as constructive feedback.

Already planning to visit again next year.

Two night stay on this very pleasant site. Ideally located off the M40, yes you get the road noise but its a constant hum so soon tuned out and bird song can be heard.

The electric pitch we had was good and level. Cars are not allowed onto the grass but the car parking is about 10 yards away so no hardship.

The toilet shower block is clean and functional and the showers hot and a good flow. There is a laundry area just inside the ladies entrance and a well equipped disability toilet/ shower room.

There are two outside Belfast sinks but with only cold water and no worktop, so I did not use this for wash up but used the laundry sink.

The site is located right next to the Oxford Canal and is a good base for walking, we are in the process of doing the D'rcy Dalton Way, that is only a few miles away. Banbury is just down the road with all local amenities.

The caravans pitches were a little bit mean if you had an awning but they were all on level hard standing plots.

For £15 per night this is an excellent value site.

Beautifully kept site, lovely landscaping kept meticulously. Shower block very clean, although as others have said, shower button time is a bit short. However it is not so hard to eep pressing it. Lovely walking from the site along the canal towpath, and we visited National TRust properties each day we were there. Owners were very friendly. M40 noise is there but not a problem, all in all a fab weekend away. Will definitely return.

We have a long outfit, so would possibly have benefited from better signage on approaching the site. Excellent access, however, and a warm welcome from the owner. Caravans are parked on hard standing around the most beautiful grassed/ landscaped area. There seem to be a lot of vans on seasonal pitches, but you can't blame the owner for appreciating a steady income - I just hope he keeps a balance of seasonal and touring pitches. The sanitation block is spotless, but I wish the water had run longer in the shower: it has one of those push in taps, but didn't run long enough to get wet! Lots to do and see in the area, including a few National Trust properties and delightful walks along the canal which runs at the bottom of the site. During a five night stay, we did observe that sometimes the M40 could be heard more than others, depending on wind direction, but you honestly don't notice it after a while. Will I come back here? You bet I will.

Stayed here in September in a tent. Nice lush green grass with a good out look of the site, toilets and showers clean but you need keep hold of the shower button all the time. No pubs for food in easy walking. M40 noise is there but not that bad. Banbury is a £10 taxi ride. Supermarkets 10 min drive away.

We've just spent two nights at Twilite and have done what we set out to do RELAX.

Previous reviews have mentioned M40 noise. Not worth mentioning in our opinion.

Showers, ablutions, spotless and ample for the site capacity.

Our Hard standing pitch was a fine size, with room for the wind out if we had wanted to, but the surface is quite rough, so you would need some ground covering if deploying a full awning. That might sound like a complaint, but it isn't, just an observation.

A bus can be hailed at the gates (every 2 hours) and costs £2. 20pp each way into Banbury and it only takes 15mins to the bus depot in the centre of town.

I have read all the other reviews and realise that there has been a steady growth in the quality of this site over the last couple of years and I believe that this is definitely an ongoing process, this site will just get better and better over time.

The site owner was very helpful and genial and quite chuffed with what they have achieved so far, (rightly so).

He asks for suggestions regarding what visitors would like on the site, our suggestions would be, a small shop selling basic items, i. E. Bread, milk, newspapers, a small amount of tinned produce, and maybe some local farmers produce. Nothing large, just an 'oops I forgot' shop.

The existing hard standing needs just a bit of tlc, but I'm sure that is already on the list.

Thank you for a nice, quiet couple of days, we WILL be back.
