Forget any pleasant thoughts about a leisure park as this is more of a base for lock up stores, stored campers and caravans than a caravan site.
A number of non touring caravans on site - police in attendance on our arrival.
Lovely large grassy area for tents, but No cars allowed on grass at all - can be a long walk with you kit to your pitch.
Caravan area - gravel and weeds- looked very run down.
Sanitary facilities are adequate, warm and very clean. Delightful cleaning lady.
Manager rude and unhelpful.
V noisy site, from local road which carries heavy lorries and curves around the campground, and from the nearby motorway.

A very picturesque site, the owner is very proud of his landscaped garden which you can walk around.
Spacious well marked pitches and the toilet/shower block in the old brick kiln were clean tidy and warm.
Very easy to walk or cycle along the canal tow path into Banbury, which was lovely.
A real shame about the noise of the motorway but by the 2nd night we didn't notice it as much.

Spent 6 nights at this site, the toilet/shower block spotlessly clean no matter the time of day, showers nice and hot, ok they're push button but they stay on long enough to rinse me off, if you have long hair 2maybe3 pushes would be required(no hair no problem)the other reviews go on about noise! Dust, and white van man. Noise, ok the motorway is close by but you soon tune out and in anything but a tent you'll not hear it. Dust! It was very hot and dry when we stayed sure the dust was there but not to bad certainly did not stop us sitting outside or having the windows open on the motor home (New surface is due to be laid mid/end of July the owner has stated in response to feedback and reviews ). White van man Never saw any white vanman the entire 6 nights we stayed, seasonal users yes they did come and go but certainly no white van man. Overall this site is good, superb toilets and showers, friendly helpful owners, relaxing, with buses at the gate canal walks over the bridge and a good fish and chip van calls on a Friday night, the only negative is the site is not really suitable for very young children due to the proximity to the canal and road saying that there is a lovely lawn/garden area big enough for kids if suitably supervised

We stayed here for one night, after evacuating a muddy campsite nearby. We'd heard this site had hardstanding, so after the mud that was a godsend.
I had previously read the reviews of this site, so was pleasantly surprised with this campsite. Yes the pitches are just spaced around a large grey gravelled area, but that area surrounds a lovely landscaped grass area, part of which forms the tent pitches.
The canal is just alongside for walks (to Banbury if you fancy it), and the facilities were good, particularly the toilets/showers which were very clean and modern and set in a refurbished kiln.
The nearby M40 noise is a background hum, and certainly won't keep you awake in a caravan.
The site owner was very pleasant, and I'd definitely return to this site for a quiet weekend.

I have to say my thoughts are the last review was rather harsh, I had the pleasure of staying at this site for nearly two months due to a property I was re-locating to from Glasgow falling through. The reference to 'White Van Man' is not helpful either, the site is one of a very few around here that are open year round, and I have found it very secure, the site does have seasonal pitches and attracts a small number of professional people, like me, (Director)who are working in the area, but from my experience that does not imply they are anything to be concerned about in the slightest.
The site is very well kept, with great canal side walks and in a very convenient position for Banbury and touring the area, it is half hard and half grass, so in the Summer you are bound to get a little dust! It is close to the M40 but not in sight and did not keep me awake, (anywhere within three quarters of a mile of that motorway will hear it!) also the rail line is a branch line nearly half a mile away so my guess is there's no pleasing some.
The site has great facilities, the showers are always spotless and hot, there's a great laundry facility, the pitches are a good size, its a great price and the owners are excellent and very welcoming.
I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone!

Well after reading the reviews there must be a twin to this site as what we found differed greatly. Sure the owner was great as was the gardens and shower block but we found;
1. All caravans/motorhomes were in what can only be called a dusty grey car park, horrible when a car moved as dust went everywhere.
2. Constant drone from both the m40 and Train line were hardly peaceful.
3. No dog exercise area so you had to go to the canal otherwise not fair on the campers who had the grass.
4. Lots of bigger caravans there with white van man owners living in same, the make of caravans were the sort travellers use so we were somewhat concerned at this.
On the positive side lovely shower block and a nice 6 mile return walk to Banbury but apart from that you sit and get dusty and listen to the traffic.
It could be be so good.

We stayed here for one night en route to ferry port. The site is in a lovely area next to a canal with a towpath. The landscaping around the very edge of the site is lovely but the rest was poor hard standing which made it look like a temporary car park. There were also some old and very shabby tourers which were not in use. They and the scruffy hard standing just made the site forlorn. The shower block was great but I timed the shower at 5 seconds so you had to keep pressing the button. Getting rid of the old abandoned or work men's tourers and doing something about the hard standing would make this a pretty site. The price was cheap enough but we have been on better sites that charged £15.

Lovely site by the canal just a few miles out of Banbury.
Easy walk into Banbury or get the bus from just out side the campsite.
Beautiful gardens to enjoy (weather permitting) and one of the best toilet, shower blocks we have come across.
There is noise from the nearby M40, but it's just a constant drone in the background to fairly easy to ignore, we slept well.
Ideal place to break a long north south journey and worth a few days to look around the area too.

This should be an adult only site!
The gardens and facilities are immaculate at this site, but because of this, we felt like we were watched the whole time (the owner can see you from his house). The children were being told not to run around or touch the trees etc. They weren't trying to climb the trees, just playing around them. No matter what the children did, there was always something not right and the owner came to see us again and again (we were either sitting watching or playing with the children).
It did rain and the grass flooded. Where the caravans were, the water was running across and through the awnings, as the area is like a big car park for caravans and there is no proper drainage.
There were a lot of caravans being stored there and it looked like some people were using caravans as a base for going to work from.
As for the motorway, yes it is there constantly, but the noise does go up and down depending on the weather. However, when you don't hear the road as much, you hear the trains from the other side instead.
Overall, not a very relaxing time. Shame.

Just back from two nights at this site.
Lots of snow and ice; the owner made it clear on the phone that the site was 'slippery'. That said, I do think a couple of bag fulls of grit to break up the top of the ice would have been better than just leaving people to slip and fall(as I did).
The facilities were great, very clean and warm water in both taps and showers and the toilet block was heated which was nice. No water to the pitch - frozen I guess.
The site itself is well laid out but there is a lot of noise from the M40- in a camper this was ok but I think it would have disturbed me in a tent.
Overall a good site for a weekend in this area, not sure I would spend more than two/three nights here.
