Faichemard is hands down our favourite campsite ever. We've been 3 times now and each time we love it more. It's a 'natural' looking site which although landscaped of course for pitches, manages to look unspoilt all the time. There is so much space on pitches, we feel totally comfortable and never overcrowded, even when the site is full.
Loos and showers are lovely, proper electric showers with heat control, and are free, and immaculately clean. We never had to wait either. There are some lovely walks around this area and easy access to Fort Augustus, just a few minutes in the car.
We were delighted to see that Blake, the cat, was still around too - she's an absolute star!
We'll be back as soon as we can to this little piece of heaven.

Friendliest welcome on arrival we have ever had to this lovely adult only site.
There are a mixture of grass and hardstanding with or without EHU.
We had EHU and was a very reasonable £18. 50 per night.
Really good loos and showers, spotlessly clean. Under cover washing up sink but a bit of a hike from some pitches.
There are 2 blocks at different parts of the site, each has 1 lady and 1 gent loo, 2 showers and a disabled facility. Site was full and we didn't have to queue for loo, didn't use the shower, used our own.
Lots of privacy as the site is so cleverly designed over the hillside, all pitches looked flat and were large and each had it's own picnic table.
Sadly we had to leave a day early there had been unusually warm weather for 3 weeks before we visited (June 2nd) and the midges were a real problem, I can't mark the site down for that, they do have midge repellents all over to help but we were badly bitten.
However we were chatting to a chap who had been there longer then us and didn't have a single bite, so it depends on your own skin type I guess.
Would we return? Definitely but earlier in the season.

This is a little gem of a camping site for those seeking peace and quiet, lovely views, and dark skies.
Good for forest/ river/ loch walks. We found plenty of walk to choose from in the local area. Invergarry has a petrol station, a hotel/pub and a small post office. For more facilities you're best heading up to Fort Augustus which is about a 15 minute drive.
We camped for one night (intended to be two but OH was called in to work a day early) and had a good time. There had been a lot of rain, so the pitch was a little boggy, but we managed to pitch on a relatively dry part. The pitch had a picnic table which was a nice touch. The site is laid out in quite a dispersed way so that you have a pitch to yourself.
The toilets, showers and dishwashing area was kept very clean. The site, too, is well maintained and tidy.
Colin was very friendly and helpful and have us some good advice about local dog walks.
The only downside for us was the midges. They were particularly rampant between 7-10pm. The conditions were perfect for them: a sunny, windless day after many days of rain. If we had stayed a second night we'd have likely had to go out for the evening and come back late because there were hundreds of them.

This is an excellent site, in a fabulous location. Really easy to find with directions supplied on the e-mail confirmation. Didn’t realise when I booked that the site was so big, I thought all the pitches were around the water feature, but there was a lot more to the site. We were allocated one of the pitches up towards the reception area. Really big, great views and the picnic table (every pitch has one) is a nice touch and give a bit more flexibility for outdoor eating. The pitches beside the water are flat and very near their toilet block. The other pitches are uphill a bit and their toilet block is down a little slope. This wasn’t an issue for us, but would be worth checking at time of booking. Two good toilet / shower blocks with dishwashing facilities attached. When we were leaving, solar panels were being fitted to both toilet blocks
When we arrived, we met Lauren at reception. What a really nice friendly and helpful service provided. We were only here for a couple of days, but anytime we spoke to Lauren and Colin they could not have been more helpful. Some good walking from the site itself. Also, when you walk down to the river (approx. 1 mile – via very quiet road) a lot more good walking to be had. We walked along the river to Invergarry. Not much in the village, but the hotel is worth a visit for nice food. Also local petrol station sells the basics, so no need to go short.
This is an adult only site, but that wasn’t the reason we booked. The site looked good, the location is spectacular and the walks for us and our dog were great. However, only one little issue. Be prepared for the famous Scottish midgie. These little blighters were out in force (only present for a small part of the year). Don’t let that put you off. This is great site in a great location and is a good base for touring the area. Would definitely recommend.

What a find! Superb site, so quiet and peaceful, could have stayed on indefinitely if time allowed. Perfect setting, with each pitch having its own individuality with picnic table alongside. We were pitched at number 12, overlooking the gorgeous pond where ducks frequent and water lilies abound. On arrival we were given a different pitch and requested to move, which was no problem at all. Colin and Lauren are number one hosts, so pleasant, helpful and informative. NOTHING was too much trouble. Much thought has gone into this site, (which I wish others would do) and the facilities are excellent, spotless and well maintained. Two toilets and one shower (never had to queue) for females and same for males with loads of hot water. Adjoining dish washing area is superb. Site an hours drive from Inverness and Kyle of Localsh, 25 minutes from Fort William and close to Fort Augustus for shopping. We really could not have asked for better, great that it was for adults only and glad to say no dogs barking satisfied us completely. This is a MUST to visit, our only gripe being we have to move on.

Superb site, spacious, quiet, clean and no children. We arrived yesterday and are staying for 7 nights. Weather today is not good (raining) but Mr Weather man says it's to be dry now till Friday. Wonderful

Great ! Beautiful surroundings, well tended, spacious pitches in mature woodland with a well marked forest trail starting from the site, where dogs can be let off their leads to roam.
The facilities are spic and span and more importantly lovely and warm with no annoying hidden costs.
These are nice people with an efficient, well run site. It actually felt like we were on holiday ! :-) ( not always the case when visiting previously unknown sites )

Great place! Peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Each pitch has great views and all that little bit individual. Pitches are a good size too. It's fairly hilly, bit difficult maybe in the ice! There is definitely a feeling of being 'in' the mountains. Some really lovely walks from the site, places to let dogs off their leads too. As previous posts mentioned, water pressure at filling area is poor, it just takes a bit of time, this is rural after all. Facilities are kept clean and bins emptied regularly. Will be going back for sure.

We spent 2 days here on the way up North to Durness, and 1 night on the way back down. We took the 2 days as we wanted to 're-do' the lovely riverside walk which we did last year, and we weren't disappointed, it was just as special as we remembered. Very friendly and helpful couple running the site. They allowed us to ring on our return leg to confirm our pitch so we could just pitch up and sort payment out after. Once we'd spent our couple of days, it made us realise what a special little place this was last year. We did loads of walks, including the Loch Oich circuit, Ben Tee, and the Loch Lochy Munroes. Don't be put off by the 'touristy' feel of the towns and villages nearby, (unless that's your thing), there's plenty to do besides all that too, and if simply relaxing is your preferred option, you'll be hard pressed to find a more relaxed and peaceful site anywhere else in Scotland, lovely, (though the midgies can be impressive at times!). One minor gripe would be that only 1 shower each for ladies and gents on the bottom field is maybe a little short, though we never had to queue, and another would be the pressure in the water tap. Slightly annoying when the midgies are out in force. Great little site though, beautifully landscaped with a natural feel and very nice owners. Highly recommended. We wish there were more over 18's sites in the Highlands.

Peaceful, clean, well run, lots of space, fabulous views, walks possible straight from the site. Helpful information at check-in. Pub a good way off and no shop nearby. No problem from midges when we visited - but maybe we were lucky. Ideal site for peacefully unwinding and visiting lochs, hills and Nevis - though we were just passing through and only stayed one night, it would have been lovely to have stayed longer.
