We have stayed at the very attractive Gandspette four times, and appreciate it more on each occasion. The amenities are excellent, the pitches large and grassy and the service welcoming, straightforward and efficient. It is relatively expensive and the restaurant food is very ordinary but as a pitstop on the journey from Aberystwyth to the south of France it is ideal. I've given a high rating to location to reflect its convenience, not as an endorsement of any nearby attractions. Recommended.

This is the perfect site for a quick stopover after crossing the Channel or when you want to catch an early ferry home.
We've been using it for at least 10 years and its been gradually developed into a site that is suitable if you just want a taste of France. The owners are very welcoming and while the food in the restaurant and at the take-away isn't cheap, it's very good (I recommend the civet du porc and the house red).
The pools are pleasant enough when the weather is hot and it's a safe site for kids with the entrance at the end of a long driveway. There's also plenty of things to do with an outdoor gym, bouncy castle, playground, boule and a basketball court/five-a-side pitch. There are some dark woods but it's fenced off from the fields beyond and you can't walk far off the beaten track.
There are two toilet blocks. The one through the woods is newer but both both are always clean with plenty of facilities - we'll be back again this year for another visit.

Very pleasant sometimes busy. Great for overnight stops but also good place to stay for a few days to unwind. Plenty to do in the area. Some pitches can be a bit on the tight side for a large unit, but STAFF very helpful and will accommodate if possible Julian is especially helpful. Facilities are always clean and tidy. In short this is a pleasant place to stay.

Like most people, we stop here on the way to or from the Dunkirk ferry
English is spoken, wifi is available at a price, no shop but a few salad veggies are usually for sale outside reception.
The baker, who used to drive round the site giving a gentle toot as he approached your area is a distant memory. The van is now to be found near reception between 8 & 9 am. Who wants to trail up there at that time of day? The restaurant provides good food & there is a takeaway service & bar.
Other facilities are the pool, children's play area & outdoor gym, but we have never used any of them.
We have yet to find a level pitch, & some are quite small which makes for difficult manoeuvres.
The sanitaires were ok, but this year we have noticed broken or even missing toilet seats & the standard of cleanliness seems to have dropped

Had 2 nights here, first on way out after getting off the Dunkirk Ferry and again on our way back. We have been using this site for the last 4 years and it is a very convenient site with good pitches and excellent facilities, the power showers are to die for. Carrefour with petrol just down the road so good for a quick fill up, don't go with your caravan hitched to your car as it is almost impossible to get in and out of the station.
We usually go in the site restaurant for our 'last meal' and that has been the only disappointment for us as the Menu has not changed in the past 4 years. Despite this we will be there again in 6 weeks time.

Just returned from a week long break over half term.
Nice site with reasonable size pitches - although none were level so you need your blocks.
The toilet block I have mixed opinions about - the showers and sinks were fine - but the toilets were in a unisex area at the back of the block - with NO lighting at all - not good at night :(.
The outdoor pool (small one) was most definitely heated - the large one hadn't opened so can't comment on that one.
There is NO shop on site and the 'bakery' they advertise is a man in a van for 1 hour a day - be warned.
The local area is fairly dull with a visit to the Blokhaus and the Coupole being the few local attractions.
That being said this site is a very transitory one with many people stopping over on the way north or south - we had 4 different neighbours in a week.
Mixed views of the site - not from a quality point of view - but the location just didn't do it for for me.

In our top 5 of French campsites, ideal for night halt from either Calais or Dunkirk. Easy access friendly and obliging staff. The facilities are first class and the restaurant is good and value for money. Our grandchildren loved the pool and the bouncy castle. We always have 2 days on the way into France and at least 2 days on the way back. We take our dog and there is a very good vet next to the supermarket in Watten. Just a shame the site closes so early as it would be ideal for a late autumn break.

Stayed here twice (4 nights) in the same holiday. Beautiful site with very friendly staff, facilities clean and well kept. Pool was very inviting although one of the pools was a little green on the bottom. Fantastic site worth more than just a stopover. Local supermarket about 1 mile away as there is no shop on site. Baker calls but stopped coming towards the end of our holiday, all the Bread looks burnt but tastes wonderful.

Stayed for one overnight on the way home from the Alps before getting ferry the next day. Large site, clean tidy entrance. Efficient welcome, given choice of large pitches. Flat, well drained. Excellent facilities, kept clean.
Good for the kids, swimming pools, slides, play areas, games rooms, etc.
Big bar and restaurant, very pleasant, although we only had a drink there.
Quite noisy generally with a lot of teenagers around, congregating near the loos; still kids will be kids.
Biggest drawback was noise at night. Nearby we had two Dutch units pretty loud when we arrived. At 11:45pm more came and then the party started. Eventually got them to shut up at 2:00am. No sign of site management to sort it out.
Convenient, but if you want quiet don't go here!

Spent just two nights here and wanted to stay longer! very pleasant welcome and very nice even pitches shady too. Beautiful view of the chateau from most of the sight and pleasant to walk around the grounds in and out of the trees 'lapin spotting'
Fantastic shower and toilet facilities good outside gym equipment if that interests you also tennis courts several pin pong tables and a good sized outdoor cold pool and a shallower heated one ideal for the little ones.
Cant say much about surrounding areas as I was in the pool most of the time! but there was a supermarket within walking distance.
One thing to watch out for is the hidden entrance to the site it really is 100m away start indicating.
