Stayed 2 nights - pre-booked. Good sized pitch set in trees - close to motorhome service point
Two swimming pools one heated, the larger one not. Plenty of sun loungers. Play areas, boule and tennis courts available. Kids club activities on offer
Good bar and terrace but not open at lunch time. Busy site but relaxed atmosphere. Friendly reception
Loos, showers, wasing up facilities good and clean - no sign of smelly cleaning fluid previously mentioned
Within easy cycling distance is the WW2 German blockhaus - an immense concrete structure where V1 and V2 rockets were developed and launched. A fascinating historic site combing the horror of war and the embryonic space programme. Cycling slightly further into the small village is Carrefore - beware it shuts for lunch! Also there is the petrol station - unmanned so card only

If you are travelling from the north of England great stopover, just inside France, and same if you're travelling back from south France or Spain. Beware of the entrance, as its easy to miss. Lovely pool, but unfortunately it rained on our second day so didn't get chance to use it. Restaurant okay if you like stews & chips as this is mostly what they serve. No shop but good supermarket five minutes drive away. Sloping pitches. Staff very friendly. Will definitely use this site again for a night or two.

When we arrived the pitches were allocated, (we had 85) even though there was space in other parts. This section had shoe-horned in as many sites as possible, with none of the obvious lines of demarcation that you find on most French campsites. This led to territory squabbles amongst the caravan owners who could barely accommodate their awnings. It had all the charm of a motorway service station and its attendant prices.
The facilities were good, Corian sinks for dishwashing. The hot water was there if you could find it, not at the sink but further away. The showers were clean but tepid. And the cleaning seemed to be using a chemical that killed all known germs, most unknown and anyone of a nervous disposition. This was left on the floor so soon a muddy gloop was apparent.
The interesting thing is that there are more spacious and level pitches in other the parts of the site. The answer seems to be to walk around before checking in and demanding your own choice.
The final moan we had was you need to take out a mortgage to use the Wi-Fi.
For us the stopover will be La Bien Assise in Guines, as it has been in the past

We use this campsite as a stopover from and to Calais. It is an ideal location for us as there is a veterinary surgeon just a very short distance from the site that we are able to use for our dog on our return to the UK.
We have found this campsite one of the better sites in mainland Europe. Facilities are very good and clean, there being ample showers, and toilets etc. There is plenty of hot water.
We have been allocated different pitches on each of our four visits, and have found them to be all very large with plenty of space for awnings etc.
We have used the restaurant twice, but found the meals not that special. However it is an advantage having this facility on site. The cost for 2 adults and dog on a hard standing with electricity was 23€ per night.
Not cheap but there is a swimming pool and other amenities that are not used by us. I would certainly return because the staff are helpful and friendly and it is just a nice site.

We used this site as a stopover from Dunkerque and again on our return about two and a half weeks later. Its less than half an hour from the port and is easy to find. The site and the staff were very pleasant. The facilities were good, clean and with plenty of hot water. Our pitch was of a reasonable size and had a slight slope, all the pitches appear to be grass, the French don't seem big on hardstandings, which was OK with us as it was dry but I could foresee problems if there was a bout of wet weather. We didn't use any of the other facilities so we can't comment on these i.E restaurant & pool, however we have bikes and we had a couple of hours exploring the surrounding area, there is a WW2 concrete launching pad for V1 & V2 rockets nearby it didn't look very exciting so we didn't go in,I've since found out that it hasn't got much history and was hardly used also there is a small military cemetery in Bleue-Maison about a mile from the site, which we visited, it is kept very neat and tidy.
Chateau de Ganspette is a well run and nicely laid out site, but, personally I would only use it as a stopover.

Just returned from a 6 night stay and will return for future trips.
Cannot add much to previous reviews other than be careful if going later in season, the pitches in front of the chateau get in a bad state. This is due to poor condition due to use and also the ground soil type is such that it collects moisture which oozes up through your (breathable!)groundsheet. Some units were in a terrible state after trying to get off. Not good arriving back at the port covered in mud!
The owners seemed to be siting few vans over the orchard/swimming pool side where some of the pitches have reinforced plastic on the pitches.
Other than it being over priced and the quality and service in the restaurant could be better I would return. The position is perfect for a crossing to Dunkerque and would use for a 1 or 2 night stopover.

We stayed on this site on our way back home it was recommended to us by a friend and it is a fantastic site. The staff location value facilities all fantastic. The pitches are excellent size and very well kept toilets and showers are perfect and very clean and the restaurant was fantastic and very good value for money the pools were a good size one heated never to crowded. We only stayed for 2 nights but plan to spend more time there next year.T here is a super market within walking distance a tobacconist 100m up the road and only 35 min s from Calais perfect for a stop over or even a week or 2.

This is a pleasant site ideal as a stop off for Calais with some narrow roads to negotiate. We had a nice welcome and the site felt friendly.
Our pitch was a bit muddy after rainfall but was nice enough.
The toilet blocks were clean, tidy and adequate.
The restaurant was pleasant with prices average for France with 4 euro children's menu. Unfortunately I could not get my teeth into my steak and had to leave a pile of gristle on the plate and made my feelings known. No offer of an apology and it was even implied that it was my fault for ordering it rare. Had to pay full price. I am sure other people who were making more of a fuss about the quality might have got further.
The main downfall of this site is the price. It is just totally overpriced. It is 10 euros cheaper than La Baume in Frejus which puts it to shame in quality. It is 20euros more expensive that Camping Indigo in Lyon.

We have just returned from a 3 night visit to Chateau Du Gandspette and it was fabulous. The facilities we're excellent especially the heated pool which the children enjoyed. It is a very clean, spacious well designed campsite. The staff were so friendly too. We made good use of the football court, tennis court and both pools. The showers were lovely and warm too (and free which makes a change). There are plug points in there too. There are two separate toilet/shower blocks with more than enough toilets and showers. All in all an excellent site and we would definitely return.

We enjoyed food from the take away & the restaurant & of course the delivery of fresh bread etc in the mornings.
Our kids enjoyed playing at the multi sport playing pitch & of course the swimming pool.
We found this a very relaxing site.
