This was our first visit to this site. Our first impressions were of a slightly scruffy little site. However the very warm welcome allayed our worries. The site is on sloping ground but pitches are mostly level. We were advised about siting to get good TV reception and location of toilets showers etc.
The toilets/showers and other facilities were dated but clean, the promised free wifi wasn't working at any time during our visit. The reception housed a small, shop with essentials and papers to order.
The hourly buses to both Shrewsbury and Oswestry stop at the site gate. A Fish and chip van visits weekly and the social room houses a cake and chat session weekly where home baked goods are sold.
The information room gives details of lots of local walks and local eateries.
We were not disturbed by road noise despite a nearby main road.

Arrived in the afternoon. The lady on reception wasn't a people's person which always surprises me when they are in such a role. We were shown a couple of available hard standings.
We parked up but felt crammed in so we asked the lady on reception if we could move to a grass pitch 'I'll have to charge you more' I said for grass? She then retracted but didn't offer a refund.
Her husband Pete was lovely and he showed us grass standing availability. We chose one and felt much happier with more space, it felt like camping.
The washing facilities were good and very clean. They do need paper hand towels or a hand-dryer instead of one hand towel for the whole camp. My partner was happy with the men's facilities.
They have a fish n chip mobile unit on site each Friday 5-7pm which seemed very popular.
The downside for us was we thought we were in easy walking distance from local pubs and the centre of Oswestry, but we weren't and that was disappointing. If you have a caravan then you can use the car for trips out.
We like to park up the VW Campervan and walk or get public transport. We had a day in Shrewsbury on the number 70 bus which stops outside the site. It wad £3. 50 one way.
We wouldn't stay here again due to location but Shropshire is lovely and worth a trip.

Very nice site. Toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained and pitches were nice size. Wardens were very pleasant and helpful and there is free wifi.
Bus stop right outside site, to either Shrewsbury, which is a lovely town, or Oswestry. It was good stopover on our way to North Wales.
Would go back

2015 and expected to dry my hands on a towel shared by the all the women on the campsite. Peaceful it is not. Traffic noise intrusive.
If you are going to charge top prices I think the site facilities need a thorough update. Walking from this site is not easy and involves walking roads without pavements.
I had moved from a site in Cheshire same price but private shower rooms including lavatory and wash basin.

Sorry but we will not return to this site. Although the site is a camping and caravanning club franchised site it is unkempt and quite frankly scruffy. The ablutions are clean and relatively modern and clean.
The pitches are a bit unkempt and scruffy with grass not cut that regular.
Add to this the site is quite expensive.

Visited this site this July, never been on this site not sure I would go back.
First impression was easy to find, entrance was a little sad, pulling up outside reception the first thing we noticed was the dead hanging and wall flower baskets. ! Not a very good impression.
Empty ones would have been an improvement!
Booking in was simple, we assume it was the warden, who attended to us, while been polite and helpful, didn't give the impression of being overly friendly. This opinion never changed, she was never rude, and if you asked a question she answered, but she appeared to do the minimum that was expected, never entering into general conversation.
The other warden very helpful and friendly.
Pitch size varied greatly from large fairly flat pitches to much smaller, and not so flat pitches.
Some very strategically taken photos on club web site!
Note. Pitches to the right hand side of the site have been cut out of the bank. Not very big.
Just enough room for caravan and smaller type awning. Watched one older couple totter on the edge of the cut bank and take a run down the small slope into their awning.
We held our breath waiting for one to fall, luckily both held their nerve. Glad it wasn't our pitch.
Good recycling in place.
The shop was not a shop, just a few odds and ends that people might need, but would order daily paper for you.
We met some really nice people and the general opinion was good location, but the site while far from being run down, looked like a little more TLC was needed.
The signs all looked old and tatty, and the pitch areas were a little ragged.
The one way system was as clear as mud, and at least fifty percent of the campers ignored it a took the shortest route to their pitch. The speed limits on more than one occasion were ignored.
We have camped for years and have never had people wander through the pitches as they did on this site, one couple pitched behind us constantly wandered through our pitch, the lady on several occasions walked between our van and car! I found this very unsettling and a little intrusive.
My husband felt that the lack of small hedging around the pitch areas allowed this ' let's take the shortest route to the wash rooms etc and have a good old nose in other peoples units. ' To happen.
They was much muttering about the hot water, in the washing up area, large amounts of water had to be run off before it became hot enough to use. What a waste.
In the toilets/ shower, The Hand dryers in the ladies was broken and a single hand towel was proved which was not very satisfactory, more hygienic would have been disposable paper towels rather than a normal towel that was very wet all the time, I never used towel I felt it was very unsatisfactory.
In the mens toilets the hand dryer worked intermittently. Again not very satisfactory.
The showers and toilets were kept to a acceptable standard, my husband noticed that the light fittings were full of dead flies. Nice!
The grey waste and chemical waste points were adequate, however the hoses were either split or too short, again general TLC required.
Didn't use the club room, chap on the pitch next to us remarked it wasn't a club room, you had to take your own drink and nibbles, all it was, was a large shed. But I can't say either way.
Other mentioned traffic noise but we didn't really notice it, the helicopter was more intrusive that road noise.
Overall impression, good location, the general site condition while not been poor, was just a little sad with a small amount of TLC this has the potential to be a very nice site.
Would we go back ? To the area yes lots to do and see, to this site, no probably not.

We are just back from an enjoyable weeks stay at Oswestry. When we first arrived it seemed to be mainly vans on site but over the week as the Shrewsbury flower show got nearer more tents arrived. The staff are friendly and we were made to feel welcome in the Clubhouse on our first night when they were celebrating their 6th site birthday with a shared supper. My 2 young boys enjoyed joining in the games.
The site seems to have a lot of regulars and a well organised social side. I would say it mainly caters for older couples/families as there is little to do for children on site.
There is a little bit of road noise but nothing too much to worry about.
However it is ideally placed to visit the Ironbridge Gorge museums and many other attractions that children will enjoy. The site sells passport tickets for the gorge which are valid for 12 months - you certainly need at least 2 days there. Facilities, as expected, were immaculate. We will aim to go back next June half term to make the most of our pass ticket to the Gorge museums.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our tour of Wales to break up the journey home to Wiltshire. It's a very nice site, typical of the C&CC sites. Very easy access from the A5 which, although very near, never gave rise to any disturbing road noise. A very warm welcome on arrival and the warden gave us the choice of a couple of pitches which were both fine. Suggested we go 'nose in' to face south and get the best of the views (caravan club please note!). Plenty of walks nearby, including Nescliffe Country Park just down the road (but not very easy to find!) and the old Oswestry racecourse. Also along the Shropshire Union canal (or is it the Montgomery canal - couldn't quite work that one out!)
If you're staying here and looking to eat out you simply MUST try The Navigation Inn at nearby Maesbury Marsh where we had possibly the best pub meal out we've ever experienced - a great set price 2 or 3 course menu with a good variety of interesting dishes on each course ( and a honey and sultana rice pudding to die for!)
It's a shame we were only staying for a couple of nights as we'd have liked to explore the area more; we rarely visit Shropshire but are always impressed when we do.

Staying on the site with children - disappointing that non EHU hook up for tents are the furthest away from all the facilities so a bit of a hike to the loos and washing up, but never mind.
Not much for children to do, as no field and no ball games allowed, but luckily the park in Oswestry provided a good opportunity for them to let off steam.
A nice, well kept site, but probably not one I would return to with the children - they don't need a playground but somewhere they can play a few ball games, away from the other visitors, would have been welcomed.

Have just returned (very reluctantly) from a very peaceful weekend at Cranberry Moss. The wardens were exceptionally helpful and friendly and very welcoming.
If you have dogs this site is for you. There is a small dog walk on site and, just at the main entrance, there is a bridle way for longer runs. Our dogs had a great time.
Very good bus service in to Shrewsbury also near entrance so you don't have to worry about parking in town. The lovely woods surrounding the site are full of different birds. One camper told us that they had seen 14 different species. Rabbits and squirrels run all over the site which drove our dogs nuts not being able to chase them.
The site itself is very well kept and the toilet block very clean. The little touches like bowls of flowers and scented soaps make such a difference. Definitely a site to return to as there is so much to see in the surrounding area that we did not have time to visit.
I know we will be back soon.
