Just come back from two nights here. The site was busy but didn't feel overly so.
The wardens Gail and Alan were very friendly and Alan even takes you to your pitch and gives assistance if required to reverse in.
The shop as said before is well stocked and bright and cheerful. You can buy almost anything from there.
The toilet and showers were spotless.
There isn't really a pub in walking distance but if you turn left out of the site, there is a lovely pub in the village of Knockin called the Bradford Arms where the food is excelent and resonably priced.
All in all, we had an excelent short stay and would definitely return.

Just got back from this wonderful site. We stayed for a very wet bank holiday weekend but the site itself is fantastic, really helpful staff, spotlessly clean facilities, well spaced pitch, easy to get to, and it even has recycling facilities! We were also told they are introducing composting! Now why don't all campsites do that?
The site is placed in between Shrewsbury and Oswestry just off the A5, you can hear slight road noise but it didn't bother us,
We also found an excellent country park just 2 miles from the site, Nescliffe country park which is great for children and dogs as there are well marked out walks that lead to a cave through woodlands,
Had a great meal out at the old 3 pigeons pub in Nescliffe, from the outside we thought the pub itself looked a bit rundown, however once inside WOW, I have to say its one of the best meals out I have ever had, we went on a busy bank holiday sunday, there were 4 adults and 4 children and the restaurant was fully booked but they managed to get us a table in the bar, excellent service. The food was fresh and came really quite quickly and the whole meal including a round of drinks came to £63. You could probably walk there but there is no path from the site which would mean you have to walk down the road so not ideal for us to do it with the children and dogs,
There is a Sainsbury in Oswestry and Shrewbury has an Asda both about 10 miles from the site.
We will definitely be returning, once again well done Camping and Caravanning club,

Reception/booking in area also doubles as 'the local shop'. The shop was well stocked with all the things we seem to have forgotten to take with us now and again. I snapped one of my shoe laces and was amazed to buy some new ones on site! It was nice to be able to order a morning paper. Tons on useful stuff in the shop such as details of walks, local atractions, bus times, direction to local eating places and so on. Staff know the local area very well. I was really chuffed to see local produce on sale too. We bought some rapeseed oil - we just wished we had bought more.
We had booked a hard standing and even though our motorhome is 30 feet long, it fitted nicely on the pitch, with some hardstanding spare for our deck chairs and BBQ. Also had grassy area on both sides. We were taken to the pitch which I found a good idea.
The site is just off the A5 road and is well screened by trees. We caught a bus to Shrewsbury. The bus stop is very close to the campsite. The bus also goes to Oswestry. We walked to a nearby village called Knockin where there is a shop called the Knockin Shop.
Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean even though the site was busy. We did not use the dishwashing place as we use our own sink.
The motorhome service point is easy to get on and off even with a larger motorhome.
There is a fenced dog walking area in the campsite and also a walk from outside the site through the woods.
The staff were really helpful to us in finding local things etc. They also had to assist an overseas visitor who had a big problem with his caravan even though it was late at night.
We have booked again but are staying longer as the journey for us is over three hours. The peace and quiet on the camping site is ideal after a bad week at work.
We also like the idea of being able to recycle a lot of our rubbish with places for papers, glass and that sort of thing.

Family; 2 adults, 1 child, 2 dogs
Unit; Touring Caravan
Site is in good condition and very well maintained.
Toilet block; Very clean and warm.
Pitches> Hardstandings not very big, only just enough room for a caravan with a small awning.
The ground was a nightmare, rockpegs and storm straps very difficult to secure.
Reception> Good information, poorly stocked.
Location> A stones throw from the A5, road noise disturbing, not good for light sleepers.
Dishwashing facilies- good and clean.
Laundry - 1 Washing machine and 1 dryer available for the whole site and there was a long queue to use them as there was no quick wash facility.
Nescliffe training camp nearby and night shooting going on until 11.30 pm which made it a nightmare getting the kids to sleep.
No facilities for kids or room to play.
Dogs; Although this site accept dogs, the dog walk is a path 4 foot wide by about 300 yards long, it is fenced off but very small. There is a bridle path next to the main road that is about half a mile long but you are still unable to let the dogs off because of the closeness to the main road. Not suitable for young or energetic dogs.
Chip van- this arrives at Friday tea time, the food was acceptable but expensive.
Location - Transportation required as the site it is not within walking distance to access shops, pubs and eating houses
A good site for older people with no kids or dogs.
Wardens> are friendly and welcoming

Family easter break good friday to easter monday.
Mom dad and 4 childen.
Excellent reception on arrival, helpful team of staff whom guided us into our pitch.
Full awning used fitted snugly onto hardstanding pitch
Superb site excellant sanitation facilities. Washing up spot kids thought great as good as at home mum!
Friday night visiting food van for fish chips etc if you wanted we didnt bother this time, but perhaps would if we had arrived a little later and not preplanned a meal.
Went to pistal rhyaeder waterfall on saturday, and up the stiperstones for a snowy walk on easter sunday, watched a wonderfull site of red kite birds of prey on the uplifits. Club site office well stocked with essentials. The site is a little far away from shops if you hadnt come prepared, but nothing that couldnt be rectified by a quick trip out.
Despite very windy weather and rain and snow on occasions we had the most wonderful and memorable weekend. We would gladly return in the future.

What a lovely site. It was only opened in August last year and is obviously brand new and yet is steeped in character.
The layout is fabulous with level pitches both grass and hard standing. The site has all the usual facilities, toilets, showers, washing up facilities etc but also has a laundrette and shop on site. The only thing it could do with is a play park for the children.
The shop is a good thing as the nearest shop is a good drive away. Oswestry is very close and a lovely town. Shrewsbury is 10 miles away and a fabulous day out. There are various attractions all local for all different walks of life.
There is a chip van that visits the site on a saturday night but one chap returned his food for a full refund. Ours wasn't that bad but wasn't brilliant and expensive for what it was.
The staff and other campers were very friendly. We will most definitely be using this site again and would highly recommend it.

As always the not so good stuff first Let me think for a bit .
Cant think of anything !
This is a newish site and is in first class condition.
Pitches> are large and clean mostly hardstanding. There are all the usual hook ups. There are some grass pitches as well. They are general quite big although some are uphill and you may need to use levelling blocks.
Facilities> these are spotlessly clean. The mens are large and plenty of room and the water pressure is good although still the old push button but the timing on the push button is good. The disable facilities are good although a handle on the side of the shower would be a benefit
Reception> Excellent facilities
Information> Plenty of information
Location> 30seconds of the main A5 access into and out is good for all size units.
Wardens> are friendly and welcoming.
All in all this is a good site that once the flowers and flower beds break through will be a very pretty place. It is C&C site and certainly nice. We are planning a return.

Very warm welcome, extremely pleasant couple. Lovely site, clean, new and taking shape well. Toilets/showers spotless with nice touch of flowers in vase!
Was very busy, units are a little close but we have been on other sites where they are even closer. Some of the hardstandings are not very wide you would be hard pushed to put out an awning, on some.
Did not see a childrens play area, but lets face it kids play where they like anyway. Good dog walk though, hard core surface to save muddy paws. VERY nice, handy just off the main A5. We noticed very little noise, mind you, nothing stops me from sleeping!

This is an excellent little site in a lovely area. Alan and Gail give you a very warm welcome and can't help you enough. Facilities are first class and kept spotlessly clean, even though the site was almost full. The amenity blocks are lovely and warm just what you need in October. There is a family shower room which doubles as a disabled shower room and toilet. There is also a washing machine, dryer and ironing board available. Alan and Gail have gone to a lot of trouble to accumulate lots of information about the area in such a short time. Lots to do in the surrounding area, a long weekend was not enough. Many excellent places to eat. We recommend The Old 3 Pigeons at nearby Nesscliffe. A bridle path runs along the side of the site. Great area for dog walking. There is a country park at Nesscliffe too. Our dog loved chasing the squirrels and sniffing around.
It's open all year round including Christmas and New Year.
We'll be going back.
