Stayed at this site for 3 nights over the jubilee weekend. Greeted by very friendly warden who gave us a choice of where we could pitch and pointed out where all the facilities were.

Lovely site, well laid out and all had plenty of space.

Showers were at a fixed temperature and as usual with this type not very warm. Think this site must have septic tanks and at times a very nasty niff by the loo blocks.

Wardens put on a lovely day for jubilee and nothing was too much trouble for them, they even asked us if we wanted to move pitch because our tv reception was poor.

Public transport let us down, yes there are two bus stops by site entrance, but bank holidays run a Sunday service and guess what there is no Sunday service.

Lovely flowers and shrubs on site and site is kept immaculately clean. Will return, but when buses are running.

This was our 2nd year of going here and will be back again.

A family run site that big enough to be able to use facilities and not too overcrowded not to get into them easily. Clean and well cared for.

Also the owners situated on site makes it more comfortable & feel safe especially if your alone or feel vulnerable. Always someone around keeping an eye on things. Watch out for the little people on their bikes.

The site is not far from Oswestry town and you can go via main road or back lanes to get to it. Then a surprise awaits as it has so many back lanes, small alleys, little places tucked away to explore. There must be miles of walking or just mooching around at your pace. Go by bus not far from the site takes you to Oswestry or the other way to the big city of Shrewsbury.

These are hilly places so disability, although accessible its more difficult if alone. Otherwise with aid its manageable. We managed and I'm in a wheelchair. We still have a lot to see. Thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay.

Visited this site in May for the bank holiday, nearly didn't go because of the weather forecast but glad we did. Ideal site for couples, plenty of good places to eat within the area, excellent curry at the Enigma.

4 National Trust properties within a short drive.

Facilities as with all Camping and Caravan Club sites; outstanding. Washing cubicles and showers clean and roomy.

Staff very friendly and extremely helpful, small shop (papers need to be ordered the day before).

Pitches are flat and well drained.

Not much for children though.

We have just returned from 6 days at this site, it is easy to find if you follow the directions in the sites book, booking in was easy and so friendly, once done we had a short wait until Peter had placed 2 other units, he was very proficient at guiding us onto the pitch.

Right by the entrance gate is a bridal path that is wide and miles long, ideal for walkers or dogs.

We had lots and lots of rain while we were there, but the ground stayed firm.

We visited Powis castle and Welshpool, both were really enjoyable, you are also close to Shrewsbury, Which is also worth a visit.

Facilities are good, showers very hot!

Despite being close to a major road the site is very quiet. Shop could do with being open a little more, we were told to ring if we wanted anything but you don't like disturbing people.

One of our favourite sites. We will return.

Upon arrival no hello just 'Can you tell me why you parked there', as there were no signs where to park I just made sure I didn't block the entrance/exit up ! A very cold welcome.

Peter took us to a choice of pitches so things improved then, site was lovely and clean and well organised.

Site is very remote and pub a tricky walk along a busy road with no pavements. Walks nearby are superb once you prize the written details.

Dog area was only about 100 mtrs long with no lighting so pitch black at night and as only a narrow foot path with a small gap one side and a steep bank the other then dogs almost have to go on the path, very poor.

This site is everything you need for a quiet relaxing time. Met on arrival by Alan with a hand shake and a warm welcome, shown to a pitch of my choice and a quick run down on where everything was, then it was a case of we're here if you need us and apart from a cheery hello when they saw me I was left alone.

The showers and toilets are clean and never seemed to be full, every time I went over it was straight in with no waiting. A good dog walk up the bridle path along side the site kept my two dogs more than happy.

Oswestry is a short drive one direction and Shrewsbury the opposite, both have all the facilities you need for stocking up on things. There didn't appear to be much close by pubs and shops, but it's no hardship to travel to find these things should you need them.

There were no children with us so I cannot comment on how they would find the site, but I would imagine it would be a bit of a challenge for them to find much to do on or around the site.

I have no hesitation in recommending this site to my fellow travellers, if it's peace and quiet you like then this is a place for you.

We visited this lovely campsite during half term for 5 nights with a non-serviced grass tent pitch. Although the site is only small we had enough room & were given a choice of pitches on arrival.

We chose one almost as far from the toilet block as possible & it was great! There are three showers in each block (mens & womens) & 5 toilets, although not many we never had to queue (someone was waiting for a shower when I came out once.)

Water was always hot for showers & washing up (4 sinks) & all these areas were absolutely spotless, it didn't matter what time of day. The information given on arrival said no ball games but our children (8 & 10) did play a bit of football & no body seemed to mind!

We visted some of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, which were fantastic, also Oswestry & Shrewsbury, this was an especially lovey town, while we were there. The weather wasn't brilliant, it rained most nights but didn't spoil it for us!

The only downside that we found was that there wasn't really any pubs to walk to, we all took bikes & had to go a fair distance to find somewhere to stop off.

Watch out if approaching from the B Road through Knockin as the site entrance is not signposted, only marked if you're coming from the A5 direction. Wardens very helpful & suggested the best pitch to give us protection from the wind which was very high on arrival, with the option to move the next day, but we were happy with original pitch. A dog run on site, not very long, but a longer run along the bridle path adjacent to the site is preferable. No Playarea so may not suitable for small children. Even though we were at the far end of the site we didn't find the walk of around 100m to the amenities block a pain, personally I don't like being too near the toilets & the accompanying footflow. Unless I can pick my shower temperature & not having to keep pressing a button the showers will never get a 10 from me, but they were very clean, 3 showers, 3 sink cubicles in the ladies, didn't have to queue once. Even though the site is great for touring as the A5 is nearby, nowhere really to walk to from the site, the B road to the pub in Knockin has no pathway or lighting. Note if your dog is susceptible but the whole place is one big rabbit warren!

We have just spent 4 nights at this campsite. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Peter. Pitch was nice, at the top of the site, backing on to the dog run.

There weren't very many people on site when we arrived and the site didn't really fill up until the Friday night.

We had our 16 year old daughter with us, she was the youngest person there, no kids on site. Wouldn't recommend for kids, no play area or anything like that.

Free wi-fi was really good, although we did struggle a little as we were a bit away from the reception, but all in all it was a nice touch.

The Toilets / Showers were very clean and tidy. With a hairdryer taking 20 pences.

Not much to walk to in the area, we had a walk to the Country Park (more like a wood), but be warned it is quite a long walk. We got the bus back.

The Fish & Chip Van on a Friday is recommended. Oswestry is a nice town with 2 Supermarkets. We also visited Ironbridge whilst there.

We stayed here over February Half Term.

We tend to be a bit hesitant about C&CC sites, in particular the quality of the washblocks is 'variable'. However, this site is fine the washblocks are clean, fairly modern and heated. (Though if I'm being picky they could do with being a bit warmer.)

Excellent and friendly welcome, allowing us to choose a pitch; in our case with a view.

As others have pointed out it is a few miles to get to anywhere else much but providing you are happy to drive a bit there is more than enough to do. We have two children (11 & 14) and kept them active.

In short we would be happy to use the site again.
